My 1st car was the 93 Civic Si. Just like in the real world ;) . I've also used both the 323 GTX and CRX - fully tricked out the CRX will win the NA tuned challenge :P

I started with this car too, but it didn't disapoint me. And remember starting with the same thing on GT1.

Second time played GT2 I started with a '90 Mazda RX-7 Infini III. :D

I started off with a Skyline too. Kept racing with it and earning money. I bought a Mustang SVT Cobra as my second car.

I've fully modded mine, so it flys now. Bought some new mags for it. I don't drive it any more, just sits there in the garage. I won many races with it before I finally got 2 million credits and bought the Escudo.

My first time thru I bought the cheaper Skyline turbo (212 hp). The second time I bought the '90 RX-7. It's a little faster. but much more expensive.
Third time thru finished all liscenses thru IA. Went back and got all golds on B liscense and used my Spoon S2000 (cars won are MUCH sweeter than cars bought) to win the endurance race at Trial Mountain and sold the Denso Sard Supra. Then I had 410,000cr to play with and only one race. :D :D :D

There's no way you'd catch me doing all golds on a license first up and using prize car. My controller would suffer more beatings on the wall trying to do that than always losing with a crappy used car straight out.

don't ask me how I got my money. I think I raced the first few races heaps and heaps of timse, wacking a few mods on here and there until I had how ever much it costs to buy the Mustang SVT Cobra. Used that and started raking in the cash, buying better cars and getting more licenses along the way.

At this point I have completed the game to 100% twice and passed 90% 8 or 9 times. I am currently trying to finish the game in the shortest number of indicated days with the fewest cars purchased. I did break down and buy the Subie 22B just becuz it's cool. :D

I've completed about 61% of GT2. Just got the GT300 Championship, 1 of the 3 FF Challenge races and the Events at the dealers and then I've done all the races.

Which Skyline? The gt25s or whatever that isn't turbocharged and only has 187 hp does suck. The G25-t is turbo'd already and starts with 212 hp. Race in the 246 hp races and earn some cr and bring it up to 295 hp and go to the 295 hp endurance race at Trial Mtn. Win it and you will have the very capable Denso Sard Supra and 150,000 credits to build a very good RX-7, or Skyline, or whatever:D

When I got the golds on the first liscense test it was my third time thru the game and I had Prima's GT 2 guide to help. ;) However, even with the info it took a lot of work and PATIENCE. About 2 hours the first time I did it.
The Spoon S2000 you win is a great ride and with the 10,000 cr you can upgrade it enough to hold its own in the 295hp races. :D
If you must buy, the 2nd generation RX-7 is also a very good starting point. :)
If you go on and earn the IB liscense you can then Go to the 80's sports cars races in lineup 3. Win at Tahiti Rd. You can keep the racing R30 Skyline, or you can sell it and use the 133,000cr (125,000 for the Skyline, + 8,000 for the win) to pump up the S2000 or see if the Subaru 22B is available. :cheeburga

Don't have the capability to post a screenshot. My only proof is the Spoon S2000 in my garage. I did NOT use the GameShark. I'm probably the only playstation owner in the western hemisphere that does not own one.
The only "cheat" I used was Prima's Official guide to GT2. Then, I put in the time. Lots of it :banghead:
The first time I got the Golds on B (which incidentally, is the only test I've got ALL golds on) it took a couple of hours. (3-4). I can now sit down and do it in about 1 hr. I would try the others, in fact I have but, I am not patient enough to put in the time there :(
