started out with a green Mazda Miata. When I got enough money, I got the 67 Mercury Couger that really got me started, now i have over 100 cars. and about $3,000,000
hsrdraggerI just have to say I can't believe this thread is still going! And that GT2 is still my favorite game.
Korndawghaha yeah its slow as hell but tune it right and it handles like a go-kart
Korndawgyup right now im addicted to mega lightweight rwd cars. my favorite is the lotus europa probly
Parnelli BoneEven tho it handles like scrambled eggs on a well-oiled skillet, driving one sucessfully in sim races indicates a level of mastery.
Parnelli BoneIt's a shame MG didn't get thier old B and Midget models in, don't you think? I mean, Lotus has quite a few models, including the old S4s, but MG only has the F. Just freekin' lame, man. MGB's and Midgets are SCCA staples in historic races along with Austin-Healeys and Triumphs. Same thing goes for VW...i was really shocked when i found they put the new, yuppy Beetle in but ignored the old one; which is not only one of the world's best-selling cars of all time, but also very capable in rallies.
rovensI bout a 63hp green honda beat, then realised it was crap and restared with a white Supra 2.5l Turbo
GT_BeatNot tryin to knock you Rovens, but the Beat is an AWESOME car considering its HP and top speed limitations. I often pick the Beat in re-starts of GT2 because it can easily (when fully modded) win all races of b or a class, most I-C, and even some I_B and I-A races. The secret to this car is handling.... your first mods should focus there. I always start with tires/ pro suspension/racing tranny/stage 3 (or as high as you can afford) weight reduction. Also adding flywheel or clutch mods helps. This is a car that will teach you the mastery of maintaining momentum... how to take corners without losing too much speed. You also have to tweak the tranny for every track to get max accel. without sacrificing too much top speed. Ok, so i guess this is not the ideal beginners car.... but if you can beat everything up to I-B in a Honda Beat, you can claim to be a master driver.
PS: this car is so small , you can pass virtually anywhere, even entirely on the ripple strip !!
