Just because I really want to get things explained to beginners easily, so that anyone that doubts on beginning drifting or for people that give hope up because they can't drift, well I've got a few tips for starters and FROM a starter that thinks he can drift pretty good (hehe

me offcourse):
-First you need to know something about drift settings and how these work, so that you can understand and adjust your settings or settings from somebody else, I recommend the thread/guide that has been stickied in this section, from Bryan C.
-If you start to adjust your settings, I recomend you save the original settings, and if you are already adjusting, to save your old settings first in case you have ruined your new settings
-If you just start your first drift or second or so, keep in mind that you should keep a pretty low speed, that means around 80km/hour when coming in(and that means for my Nissan Silvia) in any case, you shouldn't go fast at least
-Personally I think that you should start with "feinting" if you don't know what it is, well it has been described in this thread of mine cause I apparantly didn't know what feinting was earlier too. If you try that, I can advice you to keep a just low enough speed to turn and feint quickly and high enough so that you can at least make it through the whole corner
-You might have problems to get youself to countersteer later, cause you must be used to that if you were grip racing a lot. So LET THAT GO!!!
-As I said in an other thread, when already going sideways in a drift: TRY TO LOOK AT THE ANGLE OF THE CAR, IMAGINE THE WHEEL ANGEL FROM YOUR CAR WITH THE COUNTERSTEERING, AND COMPARE THE ANGLES TO THE PATH YOU WANT TO GO THROUGH!!!!!! You should say this about 10 times BEFORE going into a corner or start drifting, because you should do this automatically when ACTUALLY drifting and going sideways. The looking is maybe the most important cause this will be the base for what you will have to do, and explains most of the FEEL that is needed in the drifting
-Maybe you can try to first spin your car in a drift, slowly enough so that you can feel when it's going to spin, and then try to get your car under that so called limit of drifting
I can also recomend the Midfield track for learning and the lines needed for this track, all the numbers of tracks start after going over the start/finish line.
I can't tell you how much the racingline is different for other cars, I'm just using my Silvia for this and may post my entire Silvia tommorow with the settings and with the track details, and this will be for feinting. I'll update it if I discover a better line. But since I haven't got much time now, I'll do that tommorow:tup:
