First impressions......

10 Hours in ........so far and to be continued .

Honestly i'm loving it , the handling is a bit tricky in the rain . Super Licence last test sucks ...... but I still managed to scrape my way past so all the licence tests are now done . A half decent amout of Golds and a lot or Bronze ( we remember the nightrider ) trophies , will go back to them and attack the lowly Bronze and Silver Trophies later on .

So far i'm at Book 11 , I have a decent amount of cars and one really stupid tuned Mini so all good .

Graphically it's a step up from GT Sport on my 4K TV with the PS4 Pro , i'm playing in Game Mode on the TV , The HDR looks great but I prefer the game mode as it bleeds out the rather bright colours .

Mental note to self find the headlight button , them tunnels are dark .
 
Very quick first impressions.

Graphics are quite impressive, given the right time of day or weather. Under some conditions they are just good. Shadows/LOD switching could be better, but overall they are crisp. Ray tracing is not really impressive though, so I set it to performance mode.

Physics seem improved with some quirks here and there. Overall they are good enough to make most cars feel unique and believable.

Dual Sense implementation is better in Horizon and Returnal, so it didn't blow my mind here, but it's pretty good.

Sound is not bad overall. No complaints.

Don't love the UI and especially HUD.

Seems like money for cars will be tight. I keep getting the lowest payout from the spins (I think only got 1 medium payout out of 6 or 7 tickets).

Overall, an enjoyable game. If you like numbered GTs, this one will not disappoint.
 
I’m loving the fact that we can build and tune cars within certain parameters in the daily races, it has brought some much needed depth.

Having fuel and tire at 1x for the short races is a great addition too.

Only played for a few hours and am doing the licence tests is it me or are they harder than previous GT games ?. Also I’m finding navigating the menu and other selections clunky, again it might just be me

Agreed it feels clunky at first, but once you get used to it you'll find that you can click through everything pretty quickly
 
So far its brilliant. The intro is great, music rally is way more fun than it probably should be I honestly can't wait for more tracks to be added to music rally! and the whole thing brings back GT4 memories. Vroom Vroom :D

Just read up on what the "Music Rally" is... absolutely asinine.

I'd prefer it if PD just removed sport from GT7 and charged us $20 a month to keep GTS running.

I need help.
I have the disc and I have let it copy to 100%
Now all I have is the Music Rally 3 of them.
I have done all 3 gold on the first silver 2nd and bronze 3rd but I cannot do anything else it is like there is no other part to the game at all!
I do have a box in the top right hand side of the screen saying downloading but this has been there for about 7 hours and is still the same with a blue line about 3/4 of the way through the box? It never seems to change.
As I have the disc I thought I would be able to play the whole game but I can't! Does anyone know why please.
Any help is appreciated as right now I feel like my disc is dodgy or something GT7 and I get 3 music challenges............

Have I got to get gold on all the music challenges to move to the next level? Please tell me No or GT7 will be up for sale in the morning as I have it on beginner from the start and I am struggling to do better than I have on them.
 
Looking at it from the perspective of WRS support they still don't seem to get it, clearly that use model has never occurred to them.

1. No ability to replay just the best lap without saving ghost lap, exiting to replay section and playing there.
2. No way to check sector times from the replay (even the painful workaround from GT Sport since the timing and data screens seem to have been removed from GT7)
3. No way to save the track/car setup, have to select the configuration every time you start the game.

What's annoying is that none of these things are remotely difficult and could easily have been done in GT4 with a PS2 but here we are almost 20 years on with GT7 on a PS5 and there's been no improvement.

Also noticed that at least on my PS5 playing a replay from Showcase consistently resulted in a frozen screen towards the end of the lap (audio still going) until you exited the replay.

Is not it possible to completly turn off the Countersteering Assistance? I drive with the DualSense controller, steering with the left stick. Even if the Countersteering Assistance is off, the steering wheel turns automatically in case of a car spin.

Yes! It's like it's never completely off, even with a small input to countersteer, the computer takes over and cranks it all the way to one direction or the other. Not really controller friendly, hopefully they will change it in an update.

Spoiled myself grinding until Brand Central is unlocked. Disappointed that the X2014 Fan Car is not in the game but I hope it'll return in a future update.

Threw away my first million on the Lamborghini VGT and have no regrets!😂

Game should start when that bar top right is full takes a while but not 7 hrs hmmmm try a restart or maybe install it again annoying i know and reboot your internet just in case.

Was worried we had no idea of how it would play on PS4 but given the comments here so far, seems not an issue. Looking forward to trying it this weekend. And dammit if I didn't order a Fanatec DD combo, while hyped up that GT7 seems to be a hit already.

You're world is going to change for the better, good sir. It's damn acceptable on the PS4 pro to me. Some things in the physics still bug me but throttle and brake ramps are MUCH nicer.

I almost didn't buy it since I'm going PC soon buy couldn't resist. It will be good entertainment until then.

Thank you, The blue bar going across hasn't moved for ages and I have decent internet speed, I don't undertsand why it is downloading when I have the disc? what is on the disc if it has to download?
I think it has stalled (just like my driving and my luck lol) I think I will try again later and if it still doesn't move follow your advice and just delete it and start again and yes it is a pain in the rear.
Gutted now I was looking forward to today! hey ho so is life. I hope it works I only got a PS5 so I can play this game.
And yes I learned later it would be available on PS4 lol

I am quite happy so far. I am playing on PS4 with a controller. I like the graphics, sound, physical model etc. Negatives are quite bearable: AI is better than before, I am OK with the menus for career mode.
Tracks are adequate at launch, cars a bit limited but I hope these will be expanded soon through updates.
I give it an 85/100, if updates of circuits and cars do not disappoint it will be 90/100.

Update (12.5Gb) is currently half way through. Kids in bed now so the anticipation is getting unbearable 😩

I just want to drive.
 
The physics is going to take a lot of getting used to. Reminds me of when the E30 M3 dropped in GTS then they had to patch it because everyone thought the handling was broken.

I don't dislike it, but I'm having to swallow my pride an leave TCS on 1 for most cars so far. That's not happened in a while!

Liking it more once I turned on the option to be able to cancel the various talking heads.

eeeeek your on a ps5 as well i thought maybe base ps4 or a pro like me could be an issue ah bugger if you do sort it be sure to let us know how ;)

Quit the game and go to the system download list, check it's still transferring data, and it should give you a time remaining.

It's the day one update you're downloading, once it's installed you'll be able to go to the main screen of GT7.

Took me about 4.5 hours to get it installed.

I do know that if you're running any game or application on the PS4, it takes (quite literally) at least 4x longer. I would try closing out of everything (and making sure nothing else is running) and see if it moves. I assume the PS5 might be similar. Just a thought
 
Played for 12 hours... Loved every second of it. Except license S-10, that one was pain to gold.

The cars handle so much differently, it's so easy to lose the back end, traction control helps though, and with enough aero you're good.

The sounds are brilliant. I am at a loss. A diesel Mazda got me feeling all excited...

The AI is actually alright, set on highest difficulty, they race quite well. I had this encounter with a Pennzoil GT-R on Maggiore and we were side-by-side through several corners. They're pretty quick.

I have to say x2014 standard feels so slipy..like the car has no downforce...
pretty ******...in gts it was awesome mean machine
 
Im looking for ward to the point were I can take a decent car out on my tyre choice on any track, as of now, im quite bored with narrowness of the opening game. The haptics are disappointing, feeling a knock with every gear shift got old very quickly (its too prominent), Ive had to turn it right down, but now im losing the road surface detail. I think the game will blossom eventually, but this start after 6 hours of copying to the SSD from the disk has stolen soul for today... yawn... I'd rather lick my own armpit than do another slow car 2 lapper...
