So after the limited amount of testing I've managed I've come up with three possible entries so far. One is the blindingly fast concept I referred to earlier though it will need some work to get it handling right at AR. Second is a gorgeous classic that seldom gets driven despite its pedigree that I tried on a lark and was surprised by how good it performed, probably not a winner in performance but quick enough not to be embarrassed and surprisingly good to drive not to mention those incredibly beautiful lines that scream I'm a real man look at me! The third is another oddball that I highly doubt anyone else will even consider that shocked me with not only its exceptional speed, but considering the reputation it has with many for not being an easy car to drive, turned out to have massive grip in the corners and very mild mannered overall. Still want to try out a few more cars but these three have set a pretty high standard for others to contend with.
Just wish I could spend more time driving, hoping I'll be feeling better and off the meds by Monday.:ill:
Ferrari or Lamborghini?

if there is room / need for another testdrivr sign me up
Hi Dadog, sure is, it'll be great to have you involved. How many groups of 5-8 cars would you like to test? Would you like to test the final round (ie the top 2 cars from each group)?

Nomis,

Sign me up as a tester for all groups including the finale.

Wow, many thanks for volunteering for this. Looks like there'll be a great range of cars, so it should make for interesting testing.

Concept cars won't be banned, folks. In an ideal world, they perhaps should have been from the start, but I don't think it's worth changing at this stage (because there could well be tuners out there who've been busy working on a concept car on the understanding that they were not banned). There are some "not too fast" cars that are unintentionally banned, and there are some "too fast" cars that have been missed. But it's achieved the aim of getting a great range of cars, so it should make for an interesting and fun shootout

Any tuners having FF cars in the shootout ? If not, I might enter my FF car instead of the Opel Speedster. This car is a challenge to drive, and FF with 60/40 is going to be a good for variety, it's an Alfa 147 GTA :)

I'm guessing it ran a time in the 25-26s? Because if it could run in the 24s, I'm taking out my debut Eclipse for this.

I've no idea, yet to run it on the tracks, but in preliminary testing I ran a 1.10 with it on GVE, 2nd fastest out of all the cars I tested. :P

Cheh. But why GVE, it has no real relation to the tracks used this time round, though it is all round enough to sort of judge a car…I guess.

And run it on AR, do it. :P

The original track for testing in the drafts of this shootout was GVE, that's why.

I will do once I find some time...

My Alfa GTA could pull low 1:25.xxx at AR with sloppy driving, and 1:14.1.xxx at HSR/R with gearing still a problem, it has just over 600 miles on the odo, already starts losing power before I did an oil change again.

I just dug up an old project car of mine, gave it a few tweaks and it instantly became king of the hill at HSR/R with a 1:12.3xx, but was around 0.5 seconds down on AR…mostly due to me. Either way, both drive brilliantly for me, even if they are two different sides of a coin…which means all the testers will hate it, if things go according to tradition.

...
That's somewhat worrying, as your driving skill level is about the same as mine, but your times are about a sec faster on HSR at least. :odd:

Oh I ran the Volvo, 1.23.8xx on AR and 1.13 or 1.14 on HSR, can't remember.

At least on HSR forward, if everyone runs enough laps, the difference between D1 and D4 is less than .5 iirc.
Haven't driven reverse much, never liked the flow. Hopefully testing this changes my mind.:D

Odd you say that about the flow as I find the reverse course to feel much more natural and flow smoother...:odd::crazy:

Just remember, tracks like that do depend on momentum. A mph extra that you gain holding in the corners will make a difference. :P

I'll see what my Eclipse can do then. :P

I've updated the testers and tuners lists on the 1st page. Please let me know if I've missed you. Also, if tuners could start sending out Friend Requests to testers, that would be much appreciated.

Glad to see I have not missed the party yet
Welcome. Unfortunately the free beer ran out, but I hope you enjoy it anyway!

Nomis, I'm in two groups... :P
Submit two tunes!

But why aren't you posting your Ruf tune, anyway? :P Also, I like how it's red, as I requested it to be.

Anyway…I finally cracked into the 22s with my MR2! :D Whoops…that gave it away, didn't it? Anyway…the MR2 seems to be fast at both HSR/R and AR, but the other car is a lot more fun while running just a hair slower…decisions, decisions, why must you plague my life like this?

I think we runing the same car mate !!!!

I have 3 cars other than my Speedster that are good enough for 1:23.xxx at AR and 1:13.xxx at HSR/R ( with great driver ), should I be in 2 groups or more ? Speedster is MR, the other 3 are FF, 4WD and FR.
My Yellowbird is also very tempting ...

All of them are actually on share now, send me FR - GTP_Orido to try them, no guarantee they will be submitted as tuner's car tho.

Mine's the MR2 from 1999 that looks kinda like a bug, what are you using?

My car is Toyota MR2 from 199x and i record a very good time and i think is the fastest time i saw it here people posting it here 1:12.107 in HSR/R with the room of improve to be 1:11:xxx by good driver like RON or GRADO if they well test my car 👍

I was kidding about the group thing, you know. :P Only 1 tune for this shootout, regardless of group. :P

Now I am confused which one to submit, but the best time so far posted by the Speedster .... anyway if anyone interested they can drive the cars I have shared to get more ideas of possible variety of cars to submit :)
