FITT: Blind Tuning Challenge! Congrats to Bowtie-muscle & Otaliema! Tuners Revealed!!

Well, better now than later. Here are my guesses for the tuners... As you can see most cars had a few possibles, but some just screamed a particular tuner to me from past FITT testing. And sorry if I have offended you in any way @DrEmmettBrown as I've not driven a car from you until now.:ouch:

Tuner 1 @brian wolf
2legit / Brian

Tuner 2 @DrEmmettBrown
Gino / Emmitt

Tuner 3 @shaunm80
Shaun

Tuner 4 @praiano63
Praiano / xande

Tuner 5 @DaBomm4
Brian / 2legit / DaBomm

Tuner 6 @Bowtie-muscle
Xande / Bowtie

Tuner 7 @xande1959
Xande / Brian / DaBomm

Tuner 8 @Ridox2JZGTE
Ridox

Tuner 9 @ImToLegitToQuit
2legit / mystery

Tuner 10
Emmitt / Mystery / 2legit

Tuner 11 @Gino Caberlin
Ridox / Gino

As far as the mystery tuner, I think it would be fair to guess after we know which tune is theirs. I've gone through all sorts of possibles from @ugabugaz @MrGrado @Motor City Hami @danbojte and its tough to say without knowing the car atleast!

I won't say you are wrong or right  Interesting guesses, @krenkme might be the mysterious tuner.

@Lionheart2113 I'm trying to chase down your lap times in the Duel, you've certainly not made it easy and I'm going to have to dig out my try hard hat if I want fastest lap
Currently all my laps are about .2 either side of yours apart from one where I think the car just fit me perfectly
As long as you get into the 1:09.xxx's I wouldn't mind you stomping my times... I saw a few tunes that would suit your driving to a "T".

I am tuner number 3. I am DrEmmet Brown. Sorry to reveal @Bowtie-muscle. I was thinking about coming back to the site, but after the recent closing of another tuning garage and a PM conversation I had with a mod, I have now lost complete interest in GTPlanet.

@Bowtie-muscle you can remove my car from the competition if you wish. I am not looking to cause issues with your competition.

I did spend the last five weeks testing camber and think that I have landed on repeatable results. Anyone who wishes to have that, please PM me and I will share. But, I will not be shared it with trolls.

GT300 Time Attack

Congrats everybody. See you online soon for a race.

Tuner #1 -BRZ

Time: 54.989 DC=8.5

Excelent gears, perfect overall balance , very easy to drive hard.

Room for LSD accel , can be higher for a better out staying safe. Brake balance can be more aggressive too , specially on this track. Trail braking is the big gain of time here. The rear stay planted and a higher rear compression would give more eagerness. Low and = ARB value are not helping for throttle control. Mid corner could be more incisive.

Great car , perhaps too safe for a this track where aggressive driving style can be benefic.

Tuner #2 -IS350

Time: 55.444 DC=8.0

The car is a bit unbalanced, few understeer in corner, few oversteer out corner. Loosing time in the medium and high sped turn because of low front downforce together with to hard spring on low RH, the car loose a few grip over bumps or kerbs.

Brakes could be more agressive and gears not very adapted to some turns.

Tuner #3 -BRZ

Time: 55.052 DC=9.0

The downforce turn to mini looks strange at the beginning but the car have excellent agressives brakes that place the car perfectly and show an excellent attack till the last corner. There, the lack of downforce appear and the car loose some 0.200 more or less.

Good balance, good LSD. Very enjoyable car.

Tuner #4 -IS350

Time: 55.345 DC=8.5

The car is very well balanced with a good turn in , stable with a good front grip.

The only point is the gearbox, only 4 gears used with too much space between them, out corner retake is not very performant because of this. It help to control wheel spin or oversteer out corner for sure but there is others settings parameters to do this in my opinion. Out of this the car is very good to drive.

Tuner #5 -BRZ

Time: 54.748 DC=9.0

This car have a perfect balance and a good eagerness. Gear are very good for most of turns. Only the brakes could be more aggressive with more rear balance, to allow trail braking. Very precise front, just throw the car before the Dunlop and it slide gently on his line. Very fun drive.

Tuner #6 -BRZ

Time: 54.815 DC=9.0

Different approach , close of the tune 5 but with less eagerness. Brakes could be more agresive with more rear balance. The front downforce could be maxed easily. I did this for test and the time fall to 54.620. Gained mostly in last turn.

Excelent gearbox. Good LSD. Very nice car overall

Tuner #7 -IS350

Time: 55.422 DC=8.5

The car have a good balance but it seems to hard on the rear and the rear grip is easy to loose under attack. The gear are too long , they can be shorter for a better retake and better adapted to the turns.

Good throttle control but the brakes are inducing understeer too much front balance. LSD accel can be lower for a better out corner control.

GT300 Time Attack Review
By Bowtie-muscle

Please read FIRST:
Each tune was given 15-20 laps to get the best lap possible, some more some less. In general, I really liked all of the tunes and found it very difficult to separate them. I found the IS350 to have a tendency to oversteer on exit, the BRZ to understeer on exit. These were at differing corners however, some tunes had a blend of both. The IS350s were tested first, then the BRZs, followed by a quick retest of each IS350.

Tested with DS3, M/T, ABS 1 - Arcade Mode with grip set to REAL.

This track, though seemingly easy, has never been one of my better tracks for whatever reason. If my times seem off compared to your own, it could be the driver and the track, not necessarily your tune. I did try and get the most out of each. :)

Tuner #1: BRZ
Lap time - 55.549
DC - 8.5

Quick, very quick, and easy to be consistent. Smooth on exit but with power understeer most notable on the final corner. Nice tune, nice job. :)

Tuner #2: IS350
Lap Time - 55.804
DC - 8.0

Nice turn in and good brakes. The gears were a little shorter than I would have liked but overall helped and did not hurt. Typically, loose on exit was the challenge and curbs were not it's friend(But this was with all the tunes not just yours). I liked it alot but struggled with time. Original time was 56.044, during the retest I had laps od 55.068 and .069 within 5laps. Shows how easy the tune was to get a handle on. Best lap cam on retest lap #7(final lap) Really nice effort!👍

Tuner #3: BRZ
Lap Time - 55.191
DC - 9.5

Simply lovely tune:D:D
Could have been the only tune under 55.000 if not for the driver. Excellent Job.

Tuner #4: IS350
Lap Time - 55.696
DC - 9.0

My favorite of the IS350s, fun tune, really fun tune. Unfortunately the car suffered from oversteer on exit that came out of nowhere. Grip-Grip-Grip-Goodbye and slide sideways. When I managed to tame it, the lap time improved. Could find some mild power understeer, not bad but present. There is a better time lurking in this one for sure, hope another tester finds it for whoever you are.

Tuner #5: BRZ
Lap Time - 55.195
DC - 9.3

Almost as good as Tuner #3, almost. Smooth and consistent with slightly higher lap average. Second fastest lap was 55.197. Found the trans WEIRD to set, really nice and it worked, but weird. Who does tranny testing I wonder?

Tuner #6: BRZ
Lap Time - 55.401
DC - 9.0

Really good and stable tune, only issue was it was a bit slower than the two top BRZs. First lap was faster than any other tunes first lap.

Tuner #7: IS350
Lap Time - 55.967
DC - 8.0

Perhaps too much front brake, entry was critical and had more mid-corner understeer than the others. Gearing was wide to help with exit and did, but Maybe too high on LSD accel?(MAYBE).....This car was hurt by the grip bug, there than gone on exit. Kept feeling a better lap was coming but it never did, even the retest did not lower the best lap altough I matched it several times. Put more laps in this tune than any other trying to get more. Not a bad tune at all, just likely not a good mix with my style and ability although a really gave it my all. Slowest in the field but not too far off.👍 Let's hope another tuner gets more for you than I could. Great Effort whoever you are.
- impressive, could in all cars of the time:. 55 *** I congratulate good job:bowdown::cheers:

No no no Sir, not so fast! You do not get off that easy. I also had no clue it was you, but I am glad you came out to play. Did my PM or PSN message help that choice? Either way, who cares, you came back in. Now enough nonsense, there is no reason you and @praiano63 cannot continue on this site even if it is only for FITT Comps. You two may need a breather but you are the reason I got into FITT in the first place. Don't go away from us that easily, there will be more challenges for you and praiano to throw your hat into the ring. If you need a place to post a tune, feel free to use my garage, or anyone else's, no one would mind.

And that now helps people realize that you are NOT the mystery tuner. And it will help them get atleast one tuner correct from this point forward. Seriously though, thanks for adding your tune.👍
EDIT: And the tune stays!

Those are some great times you got there Sir! Now, read the post above as it applies to you as well. Too many people here on GTP look to you for tunes, don't go away and leave them. And do not leave me alone with some of these other tuners, I might get arrogant moving up the podium list. Always welcome around here and you know it.:) And I have never finished ahead of you, yet.

Please reconsider. Take the time you need, but please just keep an open mind.
Its not just you and Praiano who have to deal with trolls running around unchecked, we all do. And after this past week, I now fully know where the blacklist button is on my account, and know I will be using it soon.
I have found that I am a master at ignoring anyone who isn't worth my time. Which is how I hope the 2 of you will learn to look at it.
Aside from all of us dealing with the trolls and 'other' nonsense, NOW we don't even have the 2 people who even brought us to the site? Thats just not fair.
But don't reconsider just for us, do it because letting the trolls and b/s WIN is just too much. They don't deserve to win. They deserve to be treated like they don't even exist.
(and btw, I knew that was you, lol)

Anyway I can get in on testing the Duel cars? Please????? If not, I spent about $1.7 million last night for nothing......
Absolutely, we always have room for testers. If you check the OP, you will see the links for the tunes (sounds like you know that already), and the special instructions with setting the trans if you are using one car for more than one tune. You can also find the DC (Driver's Choice Scale) in the opening post, and a list a reviews for examples of how it's done.
Thanks for jumping in, good luck, and most importantly - HAVE FUN!

I spent a few hours last night buying and configuring every car. I had to substitute a couple of colors I didn't have, but that's it. I even put numbers on them so I know at a glance which car is which tune. Now, what to do with a half dozen or so RX-8s when this is over???? LOL I will get to my testing over the next few days and report back in the proper format. Thanks for giving me a chance to get in on the fun!!

NO, Thank You. Hold on to them, PD will no doubt have another 450pp Seasonal soon, use each one once and recoup your credits. And, there may be one or two that you may really like and want to keep. ;)

Just for fun here are my quick tunes.

Thank you for testing and for the review, I knew 54s were possible with the right driver at the helm  👍

Anyway I can get in on testing the Duel cars? Please????? If not, I spent about $1.7 million last night for nothing......
I will get you added to the testing sheet sir and thank you. One more tester and we will pass the highest number of testers for a GT6 FITT challenge for one group ever ! You're also welcome to test the time attack group but to save cr I would rec just one or two cars and just retune them they ain't as cheap as the duel class cars.
Ignore me, having a rough day...........................again:ouch:
Just buy a new mouse already! A G25 gaming mouse last mouse you will ever need to buy. Weight configurable 10 buttons. And HIGH durability I have had mine for 7 years and it's still going strong. I played WOW when I bought it so I would log over 5k clicks a day on it 7 days a week.
