FITT BTCC Championship - !! Driver Spot Available !!

@CyKosis1973 the more I think about it, the more of what you are saying about weight and power makes sense. @krenkme has given me a great setup and I can run 1:34.8xx during the race with only normal tire wear. The one I was running last night was my own crazy creation and although I could run a couple of 1:34.4xx's with it, the tires were roasted off by lap 7, plus you calling out that I was right behind ND kinda threw me off and I took a trip to the beach (I didn't want to hit an invisible car!!!)
I am up for doing a little bit of testing on Brands Hatch Indy and give out my lap times in hopes that we can get these guys more equal. I don't think you ar too far off with watching some of the great battles from last nights races.

manuel fangio already said workouts are workouts and races are racing anything can happen but I still say BMW car being hit with Hemi .even walking too.

@Ronald6 and I feel like we are quick at Brands Hatch Indy, but we have not seen times from other cars. I wonder how well the Honda and BMW pull off the corners?

I ran 5 hotlaps in Arcade mode this morning and all were in the mid-high 49's, which will probably translate to low 50's with online tyre wear and fuel weight.

How does that compare to the times you guys have been running?

@Ronald6 pulled off one 49.9 after an hour of testing with the VW. I was stuck at 50.3 all night, but could click them off at that pace in my sleep. I think realistically, we have a chance at a 50.1 average lap time.

Curious to see some Honda times.

just ran 49.5 and BH indy on a near perfect lap without using the big brown patches(not sure about the rules on those). but it being my worst track and worst drivetrain, I think you guys will easily catch up. I still have to tune the dampers on this track too. we are in a Vdub BTW.

After testing the Ford at BP Indy with the different power and then with the different weight and power. It seems that the car is getting in the territory of everyone else.

Think my time slip showed a 50.010 if I remember correctly. Still waiting on a finalized tune from Flip, but I think with a little touch up he will hand over a great tune.

I've just finished my preliminary runs in the BMW and was hitting 0:50.5s for 17 laps straight. I think I could have carried on to 25 laps and still been posting the same times.
Mid :50's with the Furd at current specs.
Online at 315bhp/1300kg?

Good to know the tractor is on pace 👍
I was getting easy low 50's with a couple of "lucky ducky" high 49's
Online at 305bhp?
Just discovered this little gem from the BTCC wesite (The minimum for BTCC-spec cars is 1140kgs.)
I'd love to be able to run at the same weights the real cars do, but the game doesn't allow us to. I'd also love to have some confidence that we'll be able to properly race modify any car in GT7, but I'm not hopeful...

Did you test at 320bhp/1275kg and 327bhp/1300kg, or with the current 315bhp/1300kg regs? I'm keen to iron the Ford out, it's sounding like all the cars are within a few tenths of each other. Out right pace won't be the decider though, as @xande1959 suggests, 15 laps is a long time for something to go wrong.

It's sounding like a lot of people have a good handle on their Brands Indy builds, I've already handed @danbojte a preliminary build. Is there a realistic prospect of us holding the first Round this weekend?

@CyKosis1973 yes, those laps were run at 315bhp/1300kg. I ran online this morning at the qualifying start time(10:00/22C/0%) for 15 laps and averaged :50.8xx for almost all 15 with a best lap time of :50.564. But I gave my tuner some good info and I have him scrambling off in another direction with the tune, so after he pulls his hair out and curses me, he'll get the Ford sorted.:banghead:

@CyKosis1973, I tested out all three power and weight setups. It might be the tune that I am running on that is preventing more the a 50.7 with 315 hp and 1300 kg. I thought it was only 7 hp added so I ran a 322 hp and 1300 kg. That only netted a marginal gain of 50.5, however I only ran consistent laps for 3 of them. Finally the 320 hp and 1275 kg I got to the 50.010 I believe. It held the best consistent laps in a row.

I want to try 315 hp and 1275 kg just to see. I think it might net better laps then the 320 hp. I'll have time tonight to check things.

@Stewyripper joined us for a wee while this evening, running 315bhp and 1275kg, he was on the pace, give or take a few tenths. I think shedding 25kg from the Ford will suffice. I'm not sure what it was about Laguna that killed it, but it seems a lot happier at Brands. @randyrockstiff, @Stewyripper, @krenkme, @Lionheart2113, @flip55, @miata13B, please report to the gym as you need to loose 25kg :sly:

Oh man, now the wife is going to kill me because she will be losing some of her pillow dropping that kind of weight...

Sorry guys, I went offline for almost a week :( Got very busy. I'll pair up with any driver and looks like I have been listed to work with @Lewis_Hamilton_, really sorry to hear about your dad @DaBomm4, hope he recovers quickly.

For Brands Indy, my VW, BMW and Civic can get 18s 1st sector and mid/low 49s lap offline, I think 18s 1st sector is necessary :) for 49s lap. I may have got flat 49s with one of the car. All of them were tested with less power ( VW 300HP, Civic 305HP and BMW 315HP ) VW at Laguna did low 1:33s offline on cold tires when tested.

So, I will be on with the Civic :P The Civic is a bout 3 tenth to 0.5+s quicker than the VW, hope Lewis like replica based build car :)

hope Lewis like replica based build car :)

I'm very interested to try it out :)

Sounds like you're getting some really good lap times so that's good to know I'll have a good car under me. I was online practicing earlier, and before I left I was comfortably consistent in the mid 49's. With a little more rotation in my tune, may start seeing low 49's. Hopefully with your tune I'll be able to get lower, since mine was struggling for traction out of the hairpins.

The tune is based on this replica :
Mugen CIVIC SSR TEIN ATS ED Cars / Tokai PALLAS T. Matsui FD2 Civic Type R Civic One Make Series Race Car Replica 235HP 426PP Sports Soft

I made some changes to fit regulation. You can test drive the replica with little tweaks to fit the weight/power and distribution, there are 2 route, turbo or NA - both can perform well with the close ratio setup. Gearing will be using real life Xtrac ratios as used on BTCC :) For LSD, you can try the replica ATS high 70% lock setup as used when it became champion :P or run lower accel ( between 20 to 30 ) I highly recommend visual ride height and medium camber. Will PM you the setup later.

@Ridox2JZGTE
I don't think you need to worry, just be sure to tighten those lugs because @Lewis_Hamilton_ will drive the wheels off of anything!

 I feel I have taken a big responsibility, Lewis is a very quick driver, and I don't even know what sort of car that he likes to drive, I could have made a car that will make him slower :scared:

I think the Civic it will drop the time to 48's :sly: it's all about the driver plus good traction out of the hairpins to mange the power send out from the front wheel . 👍

Bump draft across the finish line and send it flying over the sand trap  I can't imagine 4 cars in close proximity entering the 1st turn :scared:

If we get two drivers close enough, particularly over the start finish line, then I expect someone to dip into the 48's. It'll require some hardcore driving and infeasible large testicles, though :mischievous:

I also expect there to be a whole lot of trips into the sand :sly:
