Just a question, do we have to use all the cars or is it one car for all tracks?

As it is, we have 5 US Mechanics and 4 US drivers, if all the US guys are willing to race/tune together, we'll match up the outstanding EU driver/tuners. Once we've established who is the faster on each continent, we'll met in the middle of the Atlantic, on a floating race track, to settle it one way or the other
Either which way, if people can at least let me know their controller type, then I can jumble up the EU guys 👍
It will be one car for all tracks. By all means test all four cars, but don't make a choice yet. My desire is that in each group of four racers/tuners, the four cars will be used. So there will only be one Ford, BMW, Honda and VW per group of four...

Thank you kindly, I've added you to the list and paired you with Ridox 👍 So, I've had a look through the thread and we still seem to be short one mechanicI am your missing driver, on DS3 triggers/stick and I am currently working with @Ridox2JZGTE.
I was sure we'd found 12 of each, unless I'm being really thick, that is. If push comes to shove, I'll step down and we'll make do with two groups of 4 and one group of 3.It's occurred to me that there will likely be a lot of admin involved with the races. You may have noticed that I've disregarded the Drivers Choice (couldn't see a way of making it work) and have adopted some more of the BTCC points system. Drivers are now going to have to work a little harder to reward their mechanics. Points will now also be awarded for initial Pole Position, fastest laptime and Race Leader. Note that the points for Pole Position will only be available at the first race of any meet. The second and third race of each meet will be decided via a racers finishing position in the previous race 👍
Asides from the logistics, it might be nice to try and capture some of the racing for the community to see. Do we have anyone on board who has some decent hardware for replay capture? I'm happy to do it, but it won't be the best quality...

I think the plus of this system is that cars will be tested in race conditions from beggining
the minus of this system - What if a tuner will make best tune but his teammate ( aka. driver ) will be the slowest ?

Being slower or faster than your teammate may be the least of your worries. As you say, these cars will be tested exclusively under races conditions. Racers will be under a load of pressure to not cock it up, just as the tuner will be under pressure to supply his driver with a faultless car. All of these facts have led to the cars being as they are, the tyres are several grades above what we might usually expect, they're a lot safer than normal. I wanted people to be able to drive them flat out and cleanly, it will still require a good car and/or some good driving to achieve the win though 👍

@CyKosis1973 I`m a wheel user these days. But, I used a Dual Shock for 15 years so I can be paired with anyone.👍 Are we sorting are own driver/mechanic pairings?

I used to drive just like that, I changed to R1/L1 for gas brake to use the R stick as a shift lever and give me better control of the throttle and brake independent of each other. It take not very long to get used to, worth a try, should help lower lap times.

Being comfortable with your controls goes a long way, I kept using D-Pad for a long time and I was quick. Switching to the L-stick felt unnatural and awkward, but after a while my muscle memory has adapted and I would be lost without my Left-Stick steering on a DS3.

I'm trying to sort people into rough groups at the moment, going by all your responses to controller type and location. So far we have one US and one EU group, the third will be mixed. Give me an hour or so to get a draft together, you guys are still going to need to make some choices on who you work with. I'd like that you all have some choice in this, because I think I'm going to take away car choice. Drawing lots within each group of 4 seems the best way, but I'm cautious of alienating people. Thoughts below, please...

Canada East Coast. I drive with a wheel, I have a BMW being set up for the race, I haven't really tuned FWD too much,mostly FR.
Any idea when the deadline for the Car Settings will be?

Regarding pad/wheels I usually use wheel but as mine needs to be replaced I've had to resort to using the pad, so i'll be using that for now, but if I get my wheel back will let you know
Can I just get a check on who's interested in the BMW?

If I'm not mistaken I think miata13b signed up as a tuner for nail-27. I think we have 13 tuners now. Sorry if I'm wrong on this.
