Which classes would you like tune for?

Subaru WRX STi
Vs.
Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution
Battle Royal

This is a two track one tune challenge. Meaning you have to provide one tune for the car that will be used on two tracks. You are allowed to make one change to the provided tune for each of the tracks if desired. A setting anyplace in the tune. As an example you want to change the Dampers, you can change one of the two dampers options Compression or Extension, the setting may be changed for the front -OR- rear setting, on the car.

Tires are required to be changed for each track

Installed parts are not allowed to be changed, just the settings. Eg you can’t change from High RPM turbo to Mid RPM turbo, Ballast is the exception I consider this a setting not a part, As long as the change keeps the car with in the rules of the class.

As this is a rivalry battle there will be a lottery of sorts. Based on what was done in past FITT challenges, Tuners will sign up, the list will be randomized by @DigitalBaka *thank you sir*, I will randomize a list of numbers, than I will match up the lists and the order tuners can get to pick which car they want to tune. You are picking make not models. So example You say Evo’s you can tune any evo from the list for your class(es) There will be one list per class.

If you submit your make request prior to all the people above you be advised if the slots for that make fill up you will be defaulted to the other one. The number of each STi or Evo allowed for each class will be half the number of tuners. If the number is odd. I will go get my gaming dice and roll the die closest to the number of entrants (going over and rerolling if the number is invalid), if your number comes up you get to pick which ever you want and it won’t count to the maximum for that make.

Tuners are allowed to sign up for up-to two classes for tuning. Test drivers may drive all three if they wish.

Late sign up; If you sign up after the deadline. you will NOT have a choice in the make you get to tune. You will be randomly assigned a make for the class you sign up for.

All tuners and test drivers must be familiar with FITT standardized rules of competition found here

Time Table

Sign up deadline May 18th.
May 19th-20th Tuners pick which side they are going to tune for STi or Evo.

And I would like to give a very big thank you to @Motor City Hami and @DigitalBaka for being sounding boards and providing their immense experience with helping plan this challenge. Kept some pretty crazy ideas from being implimented

Can I participate without internet 8 days but now I hope it's resolved,
thank you friends:cheers:👍

I thought we were being told what car we get ? If we are requesting cars I'd prefer the evo 10. I was under the assumption that after the lottery we work with what we get.

I hope @Otaliema has been taking notes from all the people who already stated what model they want to enter???
Yep. Might not matter though

Yes and no. If say there are 13 tuners for a class. There will be 6 slots for evo 6 for STi, and one tuner will get a tree choice. So the first 6 tuners after the randomization are 100% guaranteed free choice after that it's Up-to chance if you get no choice or get a choice. 👍

I picked my favorite of the two choices in Pro class and have began tuning already, but only for the rally track so far. I'm getting very definitive results. It's obvious what improves the tune and what doesn't. I'm very curious to see what others ( :cough: Hami :cough: ) come up with. I also wonder how far off my street tune will be with these wacky settings.

To be honest as long as the street tune is drivable I'm OK. My tuning method is to throw as many hours into it as I can. Start with the weakest link and work down the flaws list. I have found that the order that you tune can have drastic consequences to the tune. Once my rally tune is "flawless" the street tune can only be so-so. If I started on the street tune (as I'm sure at least one other tuner will) then my rally tune will probably suffer. It's my "hope" (wrong word, but I can't think of a better) that my competitions street focal tunes are slower on rally than my tune is on street.

I'd like to have a discussion about tuning order after the competition is over.

Edit: Just got back from a RL auto cross event. I'm totally pumped for this competition! Let's get it on!!!

I do not think we choose yet. There will be a draft order. You will choose in order after the draft order has been revealed.
Perfect explanation thank you :)
I will tune in street racers category please.
Done
ABP
I'd like to sign up as a tuner for the spec Street class. :)
Done

Man street racers is going to be a fun field to test drive for 17 tuners so far

Hi, could you sign me up for spec street tuner class?
Done

So on second (or third) thought I think I'm going to tune the rally cross spec instead of the street spec.
Switched

Can a tuner, let's call him agent "Dopey", tune in all three classes? Just asking for a friend :dopey:
"Dopey" would need to pick just two classes to tune for.

85F at the game chasing two kids under 4 and a over crowded playground, = very tired daddy lol was fun through.
