Jules283 those appear to be universal settings for all NASCAR's so far .... working on all cars tried ... gr8 tuner you are .... hilarious but definitely true!!!

@Ronald6 have you considered using just a single track that the cars are well matched?
I did a little playing around this morning looking a for another David that could keep up on high speed ring. Found a one ktm x-bow was with in .400 of the xjr but at cote it it demolished the xjr by 7 seconds

I was thinking of a single track, but staying with the Fireblade at Monaco. I think that was even closer if I remember correctly.

Sorry it's taking so long. RL is keeping me busy with the kids out of school right now and more work. Ive run about 8 tracks but none were closer than a second.

any estamite on when you will get this going?
if you a need a week or so, I got an idea for a quick challenge. single car single track. 4 days to tune 4 days to test it.

@Ridox2JZGTE it is your turn to host a FITT Challenge. How about one for ABS 0. Let's get to the bottom things. Is it really all that different to tune for ABS 0. If it is, how?

I was thinking that track selection should pick one with a number of braking zones. Should it be one car and each tuner builds an ABS 1 and an ABS 0 tune? Or should car choice be left open.

You are the man to run this one. What do you say?

I've only tried a few times but didn't find I was having to learn anything new or drastic to suit ABS 0 so it shouldn't be too hard for those who maybe haven't tried it to adapt.
Could be interesting indeed 👍

I think someone else should be the host ( writing the OP and calculating the result - I'm not good in that department ) and I can be assistant host
:( I'm very busy right now, even playing GT6 and posting my work is quite difficult to find time for in the past couple of weeks. I should have posted a couple of cars today, yet I haven't got the chance to do it :banghead:. I'm also still stuck on 1.08

I have some ideas for running an ABS 0 vs ABS 1 Challenge, but I'm worried not many tuner/tester would participate :scared: How many will do the ABS 0 cars ? :(

Here are some of the ideas :

ABS 0 tune will have some limitation :
1. No ride height difference allowed
2. LSD values must be above 15

ABS 1 tune limitation :
1. Ride height difference at 30 maximum
2. LSD values must be above 15

All cars rules :

Power and weight will be set by the host, as well as car model and tires. Only suspension and LSD values are adjustable by tuners.
Tester also allowed to run on ABS 0 and give additional impression on the tune, but lap time and DC used is based on ABS 1 ( most testers uses ABS 1 )

It will be only 2 cars ( tuners free to choose which one to build ), and tuner must submit 2 tune, ABS 0 and ABS 1. I may allow a tuner to pick only ABS 0 or ABS 1 when minimum entry has been achieved .

I have 2 cars ( different PP level ) that I built long time ago that I haven't posted on my garage, these 2 will be great candidate, one is on comfort medium and the other on comfort soft. I will provide all the specs, leaving only suspension and LSD for the tuners.

For track, I'm thinking 2 track, a short twisty track and high speed track with some low speed corners mixed.
Cape Ring South and Road Course Indy.

Scoring will be categorized by car, so if this is to work, it will need at least 2 or 3 entry on each car model.

Why all of the limitations? ABS should be the only required difference between the tunes. This is the problem that I have always had with the ABS 0 "only" crowd. There are always qualifications to why ABS 0 is better and to why no one else can possibly know how to tune if they built from ABS 1. So lets just add in no ballast tuning, well, because that will somehow be seen as a driving aid, yet is very real world. And no LSD values under a certain amount to reduce the effectiveness of the LSD. And no use of ride height though it produces results in the game. And no wide brake balance split. And no crazy damper settings. And no use of high down force because that is a cheat now. And only racing tires because no other tire truly allows for proper settings. And no brake pedal mods like bungees or the Nixim or the perfect pedal. And no test drivers with less than 100 hours of experience driving ABS 0. Where does it end?

When two guys with cars are bragging about how much car they have, at some point, someone has to say, let's line them up and have a go.

I'm not going to bother replying about stuff like aero, ballast, brake balance or test driver experience crap, I never wanted to run any FITT event or be great tuner with big rep, they mean nothing. I opened my own garage for hobby and sharing the cars I built with my own method/goals. I keep sharing, even with only a few member regularly visiting and sharing feedback. I was thinking of working with another member here to run the event, now I won't. I have 2 cars that should be good for this, the limitation aim is to isolate the changes to suspension and LSD only. I wanted to limit LSD values so more people can try tunes with higher values as opposed to the usual low value ( close to open diff ). The limit was not high at 15, and ABS 0 cannot use ride height difference as I wanted people to explore other suspension values to work on and highlight the difference between ABS 0 and ABS 1 which allows such ride height difference at maximum 30 ( I think more than enough for the cars I had in mind ), Oh, well, I already guess your response would be like this :(

When I was tester back in GT5 FITT event, there's another member who doesn't like me testing without ABS ... should have stopped there. I'd rather stay away from FITT tuners from now on ... I have lost my respect for a tuner already in the past :(

My response (which is not directed solely at you) is because it feels as if anyone who tunes with ABS 1 is painted as lesser of a tuner (again, not by you, but the ABS 0 camp in general) even though most of the community drives with ABS 1. If most people used ABS 0 and it was faster, then most tuning garages would tune ABS 0.

I think it is time to get the issue out in the open in a challenge format. That's all. I still have not seen a guide for how to tune ABS 0. Nor have I seen many comparisons to show how it really is different to tune for ABS 0. I believe that there would be only minor differences between ABS 0 and ABS 1 tunes. I have built a number of ABS 0 tunes for PM requests for ABS 0 racing series. Lower brake balance, higher LSD decel and maybe a rear damper increase is all that I had to use for those. Who knows, maybe I am missing the boat? Maybe there is a whole other approach necessary to make truly good ABS 0 tunes? I would just like to find out and put an end to all of the theorizing.

I'm not going to do the hosting, there are much better tuner out there that can do ABS 0 tune and can be host, guys like @332i ( very quick online racer too ), @MrGrado, @Johnnypenso also can do ABS 0 tune, and for the answer to all your question about ABS 0 vs ABS 1 tunes, the best answer is not from me, most of my work are replica, and much slower for competition/racing. You can look at my past FITT entry, none of them even comes close to big 5 finisher. I'm not worthy  Maybe @MadMaxTuner can help with the answers if he participate.

Getting testers from ABS 0 drivers would also be beneficial,@VBR, @Giulietta73, @CJSpencer77, @Saidur_Ali, @NCRthree, @Bigbazz, @JogoAsobi, @Jaywalker, @GTPMcBride, @Connoissuer, @FormulaKimball, @FordMKIVJ5, and many others I couldn't remember

They can test ABS 1 tunes and ABS 1 testers can test ABS 0 tunes 💡

No ABS Balance is Driver preference, your Bias might not suit my braking or someone else's for that matter, plus we all have different equipment Brakes, DFGT,G27,Fanatec etc, when i Tune i work it around my Braking, Trial Braking getting the rear to step out to create the angle where i can throttle out.

Am currently in middle of a GTR GT3 League, Suspension Tune Only, Its locking diff/brakes on the inside an rear inside on slowish trialbraking corners,

73/73
23.81 13.55

2 5
2 5
0.0 Camber
-0.20 FR Toe
0.00 RR Toe
Brake Balance 6/4
LSD 5/35/5
Downforce, Front Max, Rear 675

Any Tips Appreciated Thanks

Hmm ABS 0 challenge sounds like fun. I've toyed with it but never went head first .
I'll just put this out there if there is anyone that wants to host an event but doesn't want to do the back end work, I'll do it.
I spend my days chasing two toddlers, so it's a nice way to work out my brain and I have the time to do it. Weekends are the only time I can't post or check regularly here.

I never paid attention to the ABS 0 crowd so I don't know the whole history of it, but sounds like the most vocal people where a bit "elitist" would that be a fair statement?

I have an idea for a challenge but I need to do the balancing first, I think I have one group sorted but need to test the others
It would encompass ABS 0 as an option as well so we could see if there was a difference

I have an idea for the next challenge IF @Ronald6 is not quite ready to launch his:
Improve My Looney Tune!

I will post a tune(not already posted) and play Guinea Pig. Tuners will be allowed to change suspension, LSD, and trans settings only. Testers must drive The Pig first and then try to beat it, then retest The Pig last. Parts cannot be changed, added or taken away. Just need some one *cough* (Otaliema?) to handle scoring for me.

Thoughts?

Interesting idea but I suspect it would be ridiculously difficult to organise and execute. Way too much room for error and it would be impossible to "win" because of different driving styles and ability.
Everyone is generally faster in their own car and unless yours was all but perfect it would be quite easy to improve on.

There is also the issue of some drivers being both amazing tuners and drivers and that only opens the divide further because they can really mess up the scoring, personally I don't think tuners should test their own cars in these sort of events anyway.

The only real difference is the host (me) would be posting my tune first, other tuners would still post theirs. It would be a 1 car shootout, host verses the field. Testers would still decide it by time, not whether or not it beats The Pig necessarily. The only real difference is the host chooses the parts. Maybe just test the host tune last only?

It sounds like an overly complicated way of doing a one car fixed spec shootout to be honest mate

In my opinion, yes, that is a very fair statement. It seems like most of those that choose to run with ABS 0 like to think that they are better than anyone else and come across like they are really doing something special. Its kinda like they look down upon those of use that do use ABS and it gets quite irritating at times reading some of this stuff that these people say. In my opinion, ABS 0 in this game is nowhere close to real life, regardless of what those that use it try to make others believe. Sure, it gives you a different type of challenge in the game, but that's the only thing it does. It doesn't make you any better than someone else who does use ABS. I get so sick and tired of seeing these people constantly reminding us that they are ABS 0 drivers and coming off like they are doing something special. Same goes for some of the ones that constantly remind everyone that they only use the clutch.

Sorry for the rant, but you asked @Otaliema  Just giving you my point of view. :)

Clutch??? What the 🤬 is a clutch? Automatic user all the way...so does that mean I get a handicap because of it? But to be fair, I would say "most" match what you described. There are few that use it because it matches their style and say nothing more about it. I like them!:dopey:

You are right and I stand corrected on that. 👍 I didn't mean to group them all together like that and I will edit my post accordingly. Thanks for high lighting my mistake. 👍
