**I’m not a negative person, so if there is any criticism of a tune; it’s not meant to be an insult or a personal attack against that tuner, and if my time is slower than what you have, then that’s fair enough. These are non bias opinions based on how I drive and should be taken with a grain of salt! I respect and appreciate the time the tuners have put into their tunes and I will try everything I can to get the most out of the tune itself.**
-All tunes were ran for 2 sets of 8 consecutive laps. The fastest non-red lap time was recorded.
-I would then make 1 adjustment, based on my what I think would help the car run faster or be more comfortable with me at the wheel (dpads). I run the "adjusted" tune for 4 laps recording the fastest non-red lap time.

This one surprised me coming from you. This car is far from tame! Interesting approach with the transmission, and it works pretty well except for the higher RPMs coming up to the 1st turn costing a little more than a tenth in the first section compared to others. The power sliding was fun, but it kills speed and 9 out of 10 times it was a little unpredictable on most of the turns. Being able to carry speed consistently through Turns 8 & 9 was very nicely thought out though.
Recommendation:
One thing I didn't want to destroy was the transmission just to get a faster 1st section, possibly sacrificing other parts of the track. So, I wanted to get the rear end a little more manageable/predictable without changing too much. I adjusted the Rear Spring down from 5.40 to 4.50. It still slides but it is easier to hold/predict the slide allowing for more confidence getting the power to the ground increasing exit speed. Doing this took off 5 tenths/lap.

Review:
There is something not quite right with this tune. The rear end doesn't seem "hooked up". I'm guessing it's either because of the transmission or rear end settings but it doesn't launch out of the turns. Corner entry is really good and responsive. It eats up the rumble strips without upsetting the car and that is necessary in case you cut the corner a little too close.
Recommendation:
I really wanted to go after the transmission, but just changing the gears in its current state would probably make the car too tight through mid corner (torque understeer), so for my 1 change, I lowered the Rear Damper Extension to 3. This helps (barely) with the rear sliding from mid-exit and helps get a little more power down. Lap times dropped 4 tenths, but I'm still confused on what would really help this tune.

A fun tune but requires a lot of driver influence. Made for the more elite drivers as you need constant throttle control and smooth steering inputs to hold your line. If you stray off the line it will either push going into the corner or the rear wheels break loose on acceleration. I can deal with the loose on exit, but the understeer on entry will have you waiting to get back to the gas. The gear shifts really affected my driving style in turns 4 & 9. My lack of throttle control and auto transmission had me (annoyingly) changing gears throughout turn 4.
Recommendation:
For auto users, I kept the transmission the same as spec'd but raised 3rd gear to 2.850. The change cost me some agility and pep through the first 2 sections, but I was able to stay in 3rd gear for turn 4 and the 3rd section was 4 tenths quicker for me with greater launches out of turn 9.

A little loose & likes to slide, but a blast to drive. 6th gear seems to be a waste as you only hit it for a second or two on the front stretch. This car suits me just fine; the major issue I had was the loss of control on corner entry. Sliding the car into the corners just scrubbed off too much speed and increased the risk of oversteer on exit. But the point and shoot approach, with the front end response, kept my thumbs busy on the dpads and throttle. Nice job!
Recommendation:
To assist with the loose corner entry (which I felt is where I was losing the most time/speed) I turned the LSD Deceleration up to 14. After 2 laps readjusting my marks, I was running mid 1:50's, it was still a fun handful though.

A good tune. Is that a flipped reverse transmission or a reversed flip transmission? Either way, it screams like a banshee and works pretty well. It does take a few laps to get used to this guy, but the more you try and push it, the more it pushes...going into the corner. The front end seems to get shoved around by the rear wheels, but if you just drive, you can still put down competitive laps.
Recommendation:
I would only try to get the front end to respond more on initial turn in, so I changed the front TOE from +.14 to + .04. It worked, but not exactly what I was hoping for as it only took off a tenth. It is a member of the 1:50 club though with this change, but any more and the car would lose its current character.

This car was good and I liked it. The rear could slide out on you, (I blame the Standard Diff) but the need to stay away from the rumble strips are a must. As soon as you hit one, you can feel the rear lift and the engine getting louder.....you know that you should let off the throttle, but the racing side of your brain says "I can handle this". That mentality can lead you into a "wicked loose" situation and very difficult to catch and correct. Still a good tune, nice job!
Recommendation:
Without changing to a custom LSD (I would start with 8/10/14 as a base) I wanted to help the loose condition. I am looking at the Rear ARB. The change is very subtle, but lowering it to 2 causes it to be a bit more snug, but lap times were reduced 3 tenths. Raising it to 6 requires more steering control (alien) as the car turns into a sliding monster, but still took off the same 3 tenths, could be more if I was from a different planet. I would play it safe and lower the Rear ARB to 2 for the consistency.

Tune of the Week material. What more is there to say? At first I thought this tune was too safe to be competitive on lap times; running in the high 1:51's. You can tell it is a very solid tune by the first few turns, but I struggled with understeer on corner exit causing the slower lap times. By lap 4 I stopped fighting the car and fed it the lines it wanted and was rewarded. Even if you are not tester everyone NEEDS to drive this tune and remember to listen to the car... you'll enjoy it. Awesome tune!
Recommendation:
The small things I would adjust is to try and cut down the understeer on exit in order to give it better agility/options in racing conditions. Maybe something with reducing camber or rear TOE slightly. The other minor thing would be a longer final gear, but to be honest, I don't want to touch this car for fear of messing anything up!

A solid, no fuss tune. As stable as you like with very few handling issues. I think this would be one of those tunes you can take to any track and be very competitive. The only thing I found was that the gearing hurt me a little on corner exit. Once again, great job!
Recommendation:
I'll admit, I wanted to get the back end of the car to be a little more exciting. This adjustment is strictly for me so I raised the Rear ARB to 6. I dropped 4 tenths off my lap time.

I had a hard time with this car. From looking at the settings, I'm not sure what you were going for, but the lack of front end grip on corner entry leading into power oversteer is what kills this tune for me.
Recommendation:
I took the the Front Camber down to 0.0 and this tune was immediately as fast as the other tunes dropping over 1.3 seconds from the original lap time. A few more tweaks to gain that front grip, it could be a real contender.

I think there is a mistake on the 1st gear of the transmission. Tune says 2.903, but I can only get it down to 2.963.
Regardless, the transmission is brilliant. The power coming from this setup launches you out of the turns reducing the amount of power oversteer. This gives you loads of safety and stability, but the understeer can limit your driving lines. The gearing does also effect the braking distance, but not by much. I backed up my front stretch braking mark, but still hit 160mph. I really like this car, good job!
Recommendation:
I wanted more rotation so I took the Rear TOE from -.55 to -.25. This helped a little with the understeer, but did start to throw the back end around a little more (LSD Accel). I still took off 2 tenths and with another tweak or two, I can see this car in the mid 1:50's.

Another Tune of the Week car. The speed of this car through the 2nd section is phenomenal! Very easy to drive and to lose track of what lap you are on as they seem to fly by. The only complaint, and I'm using that term loosely, is the snug condition on corner exit. Great job!
Recommendation:
I probably shouldn't be touching this tune, but I just had to see what I could do. Praying that I didn't screw this up, I raised the LSD Acceleration up to 11 to help get the rear to slide out a little on exit to counter the torque understeer. It worked recording my fastest time of the competition, 1:50.3xx.

It's hard to find any major handling faults with this tune. It was very stable and yes it could roast the outside front on corner entry when really going after it, but it was well balanced. The biggest thing that hurt me was transmission. Being automatic/ X-masher, I found myself at the mercy of the upshift gods. It spent so much time bouncing off the limiter in 3rd gear coming out of turns 4 & 5, it killed my launch. I'm sure that manual users would not have the same issue or those with alien throttle control, but it was frustrating for me. (And shouting at the car to change gear doesn't make any difference). That being said I liked the car, good effort!
Recommendation:
I think the transmission needs some major adjusting to help with the gear changes for me, the average automatic user, but altering too much can really upset the rest of the cars handling and as I said, I don't want to change the handling and I would be surprised if others had the same issue. I went after gears 2-4 and just increased their value...
2nd gear = 3.160
3rd gear = 2.525
4th gear = 2.069
Doing this helped slightly with the quicker gear changes, but it did start to showcase the very low LSD Acceleration setting. The inside rear tire would light up more on heavy acceleration, but it was manageable and I dropped 8 tenths per lap.

Loves to slide and be thrown around the track. It's a fun tune to drive, but like a few others in this competition, it's not going to be for everyone. I don't think it's easy 1:51's for all because of the driving technique needed. A decent tune nonetheless.
Recommendation:
To help give it a little more stability I reduced the Rear TOE from -.22 to -.14. This helped the car from sliding around so much; knocking 3 tenths off my fastest lap putting it just in the 1:50's club.

This tune does a great job of eliminating any chance of sliding, but the understeer hurts on this type of tight and technical track. I struggled getting this through some of the twists without minor scrapes, bumps, and bruises. I wouldn't mind seeing what it can do on other track layouts because the security of putting down the throttle was there, you just had to wait to do so.
Recommendation:
There are probably a few adjustments needed to help reduce the tight condition. For my 1 adjustment, I changed the Front TOE from -.79 to -.10. It did help 2 tenths, but more is needed to get it to my driving style.

Thank you for the very quick review. Scary fast times here! I will take your changes of my tune out for a spin as you seemed to gain a lot of time from one change. Awesome job testing once again!

I have three tunes left to review (the ones that were added and confirmed today) so I will be doing those tomorrow hopefully.

@Lionheart2113 thabk you for the drive and feedback. Honestly the car is a grifter. Use the breaks gas to keep it stable through T the turn lift to settle it and than slam the gas once you're pointed right.
Testing is a blast as it gives me insight on different driving styles and preferences. One of the things I'm hoping to instigate with my recommendations was more chat about how doing this can do that. There is always more than 1 way to skin a cat (sorry to the cat lovers out there) and I want to start conversations about those changes. If a tuner wants to try my suggestion and say if it hurt or helped, I would be grateful either way. Tuners describing how they drive their own tune is also a huge benefit. With what @Otaliema has just said, it makes me want to hop back in that tune and try it his way and see where I might have gone wrong.
FITT is a great place to tune and test with a wide variety of tuning and driving skills at our disposal. I think that we should take advantage of this and talk more about the tunes and car(s) used throughout the competition. Obviously more so after the tunes are submitted, but if we can do this I think the majority of us reading/playing along (including me) can become better tuners & drivers.
Taking the extra time and thinking about how certain settings effect the cars' characteristics and then testing those theories has helped me look at tuning in a different light. Not to mention solidify a few more notes in my book. So who knows, a few more tests like this and I might be able to submit a tune in less than 20 hours...:dopey:

This gives you loads of safety and stability, but the understeer can limit your driving lines. The gearing does also effect the braking distance, but not by much.

Driven correct a grifter is crazy fast because you're entering a corner so fast and using the skid to slow you as much as the brakes. Takes some getting used to but if you do, you can go isainly fast.

I hope that you can read the positives in my reviews if the time that I achieve is slower than what you (the tuner) managed. My testing regime was the same as the last event. Two getting to know you laps and then eight laps of hammer time.

Thank you as always and enjoy!

Like the other tunes, my own tune has some under steer going on but the rear of the car definitely gives this car confidence to push it through the slalom section which made a huge different in the time I could get out of the tune. I will leave the critical analysis of my tune to other testers but this tune is fun, fast and consistent in my hands. That’s all a tune needs to be really.

It’s a grifter! For those of you who are thinking, what is a grifter? Well, a grip/drift tune combo where you can push the car to slide but have the grip and speed in a straight line. It works well around this track. The fastest lap appeared on the final lap of the test and it is testament to the tune that it was very competitive in terms of time, as well as the handling characteristics it possessed. The brakes were spot on, rear end rotation was loose and grippy at the same time, the front had perfect rotation for the style of the tune and the transmission worked a treat. Most of all, I had a hoot driving this thing at the limit! Well done, Great tune.

A stable tune with a lot of grip. Transmission is very good and combined with the LSD settings, wheel spin is limited and controlled well. Handling is good but like my tune, this car under steers through some corners and the rear is planted which limits what I can do with regards to controlled drifting of the rear to offset the slight under steer present. If you get the right line in the corner, it isn’t an issue but go off line and some clever throttle blipping is required to realign the car for the next straight. All in all, this is a very good tune, and one that I was able to drive easily. Bravo good sir!

This tune reminded me of my own. A little under steer but with the addition of slight over steer thrown in which enhanced the control I had through the long corners. A quick tune and well balanced. I could have improved my time by 0.5 of a second had it not been for driver error so a mid-high 1.52 was on the boards at one point. Two points to mention though, the transmission was a little too long (although it had no negative effects on the car itself) and the front end rotation could have been a little better/quicker for the slower corners but these are minor things as the tune handled the fast, long corners like a natural grifter tune. Very well done. I really liked this tune.

Impressions of the tune. Positives first. Transmission was good, brakes were good, front-end rotation was good. Handling was either spot on or felt sluggish depending on corner entry and it wasn’t consistent enough for me in this regard. The rear was prone to oversteer which cost time and the under steer on some of the corners was too much, again costing time. Acceleration was an art with this tune and I am not sure I have part alien in me to really extract all this tune has to offer. This being said, When I was on a hot lap and it all fitted together, this was a fun tune to drive. Just needed more consistency with the rear grip. Good tune and one that will get a much better lap time with some of the other testers.

Okie doke. Good points first. The front end rotation was good, sometimes very good depending on how much the rear tyres smoked. The transmission was also very good, Ideally, it could have been a tiny bit shorter in the final gear but this was by-the-by in terms of how it affected the tune. Grip was okay if you stayed on the racing line and carried the correct amount of speed through the corner entry. If you went too fast, it would spin up the rears and cost you time, keep it smooth and precise and this tune would produce an awesome lap time. Over steer was the one issue I had with this tune, I know this tune has standard diff settings and this is where the wheel spin can be controlled, but bearing this in mind, the standard settings were only an issue when I went off the racing line and really pushed this tune. If I was sensible and trying to drive naturally, the tune felt light, easy to drive and very controllable. The brakes were standard, which aided this tune by not locking up the tyres. However, the braking distances were slightly longer for it. The main negative point for this tune was lap time inconsistency but it didn’t change the fact that I enjoyed this tune a lot when I was in the groove and it was all going well. All in all, a good tune that worked very well if you drove it smoothly, and wasn’t trying for a do or die lap. Great job considering LSD was standard! You are fast becoming an accomplished tuner.

Impressions of the tune: A fine tune. Balance was really good, putting the power down was easy and well controlled, Wheel spin was present but easily managed and it was a hoot to drive. Under steer.. yes, it was also present but the way the car handling minimised this beautifully. A very impressive tune. The only thing that stopped this tune being perfect was the transmission was slightly too short. Other than that, a great job here. Well done.

At the time of testing, this was one of the most neutral feeling tunes I had driven. The rear rotation was spot on, front end grip was very good but for me, needed a tiny bit of looseness through the fast-flowing section at the back of the R246 track. Transmission worked really well and LSD settings were great at controlling the wheel spin out of the slow corners. A great tune and one that I really enjoyed testing. Well done.

I mentioned when this tune was posted that it looked aggressive. I was wrong. It is more like passive aggressive. The grip level of this tune is really good but the amount of power going through the rear with that LSD setting can make this tune prone to sudden over steer. I learnt half way through the test that if I employ proper throttle control, instead of mashing the x button fully, the line it took through the corner was perfect but getting back on the power could be a step into the unknown if I wasn’t paying attention to what the car was telling me. The time should have been closer to a 1.53.2xx but the last corner caused the car to fish tail a little so I had to come off the throttle costing me the time I had gained through the rest of the lap. I like the balance of the car and it certainly put a smile on my face. Like many tunes before this, I could certainly adapt to this tune over time and it would improve me as a driver in the process. A great tune, just a little above my driving skill to fully extract all this tune has to offer. I expect a lot quicker times to come from some of the alien testers among us. Great job though, I really enjoyed this tune. The DC hopefully reflects that.

Impressions of the tune. A tough tune for me to get my head around. For the first part of the lap, this car was keeping up perfectly with the fastest tunes I have tested, In the second half of the track, this tune dropped off and I could not find any line or driving style that would extract the speed that this car demonstrated initially. Brakes were okay but could have been a little better for me, front end rotation worked well and the rear was planted (maybe a little too much?). I could have used a little more looseness in the rear for me to really drive this tune. I think the biggest thing this car lacked was the correct gearing. I only just shifted into 6th gear and it was already time for braking. Not sure if that was intentional or designed but I think that cost me some time overall. Not a bad tune and it was stable but perhaps too stable for this track. The positive thing I can say about your tune is that for the first half of the track, it was very precise and fun to drive so well done for that.

Impressions of the tune. A solid, balanced tune which enabled me to put the power down with confidence. Brakes were consistent and the transmission worked well. A tad more front-end rotation would have been better for some sections of the track and the rear was a little too planted at times causing some over-steer issues. A solid tune which achieved a really great time and one that was setting consistent lap times. A great job, well done.

Impressions of the tune. I will start with all the positives. Transmission was perfect, traction through the fast corners was perfect, brakes were spot on, balance of the car was virtually perfect. The slight issues. A smidge more front rotation for the slow corners would have made this perfect as well as the reduced wheel spin in the slow corners. Saying that, the way this car handled was consistently fast throughout the whole test made these slight flaws insignificant. Great job. This is a tune that I was comfortable with straight away so awesome job!

Like some of the other tunes, this tune had hints of under steer but the rear rotation of this car was perfect. I had to do some throttle control to keep everything in line but it was a very enjoyable drive. The transmission was perfect and the brakes were consistent and confidence inspiring. I kept lapping around the 1.53 – 1.52s each time apart from when I had a massive spin due to a driver error. One thing that I would have liked personally was more front rotation/grip for the slow corners. Really great tune this one. Well done.

A grippy and confidence inspiring tune. Wheel spin was limited by a well-designed LSD and transmission combination. The brakes were perfect for this track and the cornering was nearly spot on. There was the slight under steer issue once again but this was definitely balanced out well by the grip of the car. The mechanical grip this car had caused some issues with the front-end rotation however. The positive aspect of this was the speed it could carry through the fast flowing sections with minimal effort. The main issue I had with this car was inconsistency in lap times. It seemed to reach a performance peak where the balance and neutrality just dropped off an invisible cliff. A great tune and a great time but a little inconsistent at times. I can guarantee that at least one of the other testers will love this tune as it has a lot of positive aspects to it.

Impressions of the tune. A well balanced tune, good traction and grip levels. Transmission worked really well and was efficiently tuned. The under steer was minimised quite a lot but suffered a little bit through the fast flowing sections. Brakes were consistent, as were the lap times throughout the test. The wheel spin was minimised but could cause issues when accelerating out of the slow corners and when a corner entry was too hot. These are little things really as I really enjoyed this tune and it felt more at home when you just cruised along smoothly. Really fast times for relatively easy driving. A great job. Well done.
