She sure is. The challenge is merely to find a tune which slides in the correct way so it doesn't cost you time in the corners, but also has loads of grip on corner exit so you don't loose time with spinning wheels. Sounds pretty easy really!
Yeah I'm floating between good entry and good exit at the moment, can't quite seem to find both

That's what I was getting at when I mentioned SM tires. And how one click on a damper setting can change the car quite a bit.
I like to make a challenge sort of challenging :) It is interesting to see how various tuners solve the particular issues of the same car. We saw this in @Pete05's challenge and it amazed me how different techniques can achieve the same successes.

The car won't allow any aero, rims or rear wing additions. It should make it nice and simple for the testers at least.
I thought You could change it because yesterday I was watching Bathurst on TV, and I was pretty sure I put a rear wing on the car it but I did have a few beers so I might have had the wrong car, sorry about that :embarrassed:.

Sounds like you may've had your beer goggles on Aussie brother :P
That was a cracking race & the right bloke won in the end

2nd is better than 1st .
:odd:
I'm not a Winterbottom fan myself, don't like PRA either but I've known Steve Owen for 15 years. We used to swap the lap record between each other at our local go-kart track.
I've followed Lowndes since he started in Formula Ford back in '91. Got to drive his Van Diemen RF85 for 6 laps of Sandown that same year, met him many times over the years & always support him. 13 Bathurst 1000 podiums, an all time record, 5 wins in the last 10 years, top bloke & legend

I would not class Lowndes as a legend but a good driver, and 888 got bit of luck in yesterday race.

So how is everyone finding this car so far with regards to tuning? I have just realised that small changes on this car can have vast differences on the handling of the car itself. It is great fun learning how this car responds to the various tuning inputs. I am quite enjoying getting my head around this one.

Call me lazy but I still haven't made the purchase :embarrassed:

I have done a few lap times in the car of an around the 1:51.425 but I got to stay of them rumble strips, because I have to many mishaps.

I feel really slow compared to you guys but I know that is just me. I have a tune which is nearly there now but I am 2-3 seconds slower than the rest of you. I know from previous experience though that this is the norm and hopefully, when my tune is completed, it will be at the same lap time (or around it) of the rest of the tunes.

A bit frustrating so for, the car has a surprising amount of understeer at the front end and likes to push on entry, can't quite seem to get rid of it without turning it into wasteful exit oversteer. Running in the low 51s but was walking on eggshells on exit, just can't make it fast and stable

I found that to start with when I was moving on from a base tune but I have since found settings that are creating a more neutral handling car which still has room for improvements. You will get there. Keep going with it. :)
