Well hopefully, but it certainly HURTS LIKE HELL!

I hope when I get back on track the break was productive and not the opposite. You know, sometimes a short break is good, but this is too long. I recently felt I stepped it up a notch. We got blasted with all the new tracks people were making and I turned off the map and I was forcing myself to look really far ahead and it just felt great.

I have had track maps turned off since GT3 much to the dismay of friends that stop by and want to play real quick. It's absolutely the best way to memorize the track and you also don't get distracted looking at it and blow a braking point.

I've had it switched off forever. You don't get a track map in the corner of your windscreen and looking at the track is the proper way to learn what you need to know.

Really it was just to see where other cars are.
Ricciardo had a Sochi map on the left wall of his cockpit. Doesn't hurt.
Yeah I've seen maps used in the real world but I guarantee it's not to learn the track.
Most, if not all of them, have the corners numbered so that when they talk back to their crews in pitlane, they all agree about exactly where, for example, turn x is.

Yeah i could see how that would helpful, like T3 at BrandsHatch on the map it's flippin huge on the track it's almost nott worth being paved  at least the 80's version the modern you actually have to slow down.

Yeah pretty sure it's for the turn numbers, too. Thought I'd slide one past ya, mate. :D:tup:
10 out of 10 for effort

Exactly. When is a kink or a curve a corner sort of thing.
I've heard the Nordschleife described as having anywhere between 83 and 170+ corners.
Think about it. Does turn 2 open a little & then tighten or become turn 3?

I think the only corners you're gonna have to remember at B Hatch are like 6 and 7.

Speaking of whore corners. R246. 1. 2. 5.
You forgot 6/7 chicane, and 12

Which version? 24 hour? I'd call that one turn.
I personal define a turn as anything I have to turn my wheel more then ten degrees to clear or slow down/lift to get through safely.
Exceptions for the cars speed are allowed like for the dogleg on the back straight in a 400PP car is nothing but in a LMP that's a different matter. That's turn the road makes a clear change of direction.

Well, This is my final tune for this car. I hope the testers enjoy it and my choice of colour isn't worth 10 horses, perhaps 8 horses due to its heritage of sticking with a Japanese colour scheme :)

Original Link for this tune is here.

I hope the testers enjoy this tune. The transmission is a special one of design for this track and something new for me so I look forward to seeing what you think of it.

I'm almost certainly gonna be slower than everyone else here for 2 reasons:
1: I use a controller
2: I'm not used to driving with only ABS 1, I normally drive with that and about 5 other aids!
But I did like this tune very much, the only problem was that I lost traction on the back left a bit too easily. I'd say 9/10
Average was: 2:02:165 (10 laps)
Hope this helps!

Don't worry, everyone starts somewhere, and most of us here still use the controller (automatic for some) the main idea is to try and have fun. ;)

That is great, I am glad you liked my tune. When you post your review, you need to test all the tuners tunes and post your review as a single post.

Here is an example,

@shaunm80
Best Lap Time: 1.5x.xxx
DC: Some figure between 0.0 and 10.0
Impressions of the tune. (Try and give as much constructive comment here as possible) I.e. easy to drive, great grip, had under steer at times. overall good balance, transmission worked well/not so well. Wheel spin was too much/easy to manage etc.

@newtuner
Best Lap Time
DC
Impressions of the tune/Overall impression. (whatever you want to call it)

and continue along those lines. :)

As for the testing with ABS 1 only. It is just as tricky for the tuners to get it right as we have to tune with that. If we do it right, we should give you a tune that you can get around the track fairly easily and give you some enjoyment when testing. :)

I shall try cory's next and record results to post altogether at the end. :D
Hopefully I'll get faster with more practice on only ABS 1 :D
You will certainly get faster the more you drive with out aids other than active steering and srf. Both of which speed up Aliens -_-
I remember back when I switched off srf I crashed a lot but I got the hang of it and now never use it unless it's forced on by the game.

Testers there will be a review template posted in a day or so. I ask you use it so I don't cross up results when entering them into the score sheet. Thanks in advance.

Your speed/lap time does not matter as long as it's consistent across the board. I use a controller as well, some others still use x and [] buttons. You may find that testing under these conditions can help improve your driving as well, I always used TC before tuning for FITT, now I almost never use it.

Just enjoy yourself, we're happy to have you join in 👍 :D

Speaking of body rigidity, didn't someone buy 11 new cars last event?
Yeah that was Hami. He bought a brand new F3 for each tune.
It depends on the car, some cars are just as fast with AT.
I reckon the F3 from the last comp & this car are just as fast with either transmission option. I usually use MT but I briefly tested my F3 tune with the AT to see if it had any quirks in that mode.
If a car has a power curve that climbs all the way to the redline, it'll be happy to rev that far. It's only when you get a car that peaks earlier in the rev range you find it's lazier as it gets closer to the redline and you find a slight time penalty.

I can only think of a handful of cars that I would think would be faster with a MT stock from the dealer. A VGT car is one. Then, there's the majorly reduced HP cars that still have a ton of torque. Like my 500 PP race car cheaters. And the benefit of traction control via short shifting. But other than all that… :D

Out of interest, I saw that @Lionheart2113 has begun testing for this event, have any of the other testers started their tests yet? I started testing the various entries a few days ago and will try and do a few at a time when I have a spare hour.
I've tested 5 so far and there is about 7 tenths between them. And without giving too much away, all 5 have been fun to drive. Can't wait to get stuck into more. If testers do get an hour here or there, with the quantity of tuners, every chance to test will be worth it.
