Speaking of body rigidity, didn't someone buy 11 new cars last event?

I spent 7+ million buying every car for the rx-8 / s2000 duel.

Out of interest, I saw that @Lionheart2113 has begun testing for this event, have any of the other testers started their tests yet? I started testing the various entries a few days ago and will try and do a few at a time when I have a spare hour.

I have 4 fully tested and reviewed. I have been doing 2 a night the last couple days to get an early start since there are so many. I warm up with my car for 4-5 laps and then switch to the test car to run 12-15 laps with each tune.

That's a good handful of laps. Do you run the 12-15 laps all in the same set? I run each tune for 2 sets of 7 laps, give my review and score. Then something a little new..... I make 1 adjustment to the tune based off of my review and run 4 laps to see if it helped the car/lap time based on my driving style.

Usually I will run 4 laps or so pushing harder every time. Then when I slam a wall or have a bad gravel experience, I will restart and run 8-10 more consecutive. That way I find my braking points and also the limits of the car before my actual testing begins. I run laps until I feel I can't do any better or put together the best Lap I can. On occasion though, I have found myself on lap 18 just going around again because I like a tune so much.

The #3 car from the duel is still one of my best 450ish pp weapons for online racing. I have maybe changed one or 2 settings along the way aside from power and tires. I even left the paint and wheels the same so it is truly the same car with a #33 on it.

The classic American cars are crap. The chassis is crap, the suspension is crap, the engine technology is crap and the transmissions are crap. Embarrassing almost.

I agree with you about the chassis & suspension but I think the drivelines were quite good for the time. Most, if not all, were still body on chassis & that inherently involves a lot a flex. For the suspension, a lot of them still had a leaf spring rear end that didn't look a lot different to the type you'd find under a cart being pulled around by a horse! Full size Muscle Cars weren't designed to carve the corners though. They were all about beating the competition to the next red light which explains the ridiculous diff ratios. As for the rest of the driveline, this is where the saying "No substitute for cubic inches" came from. The transmissions had to be good to handle all that tyre-melting torque.
Regardless of all this, they looked fantastic.

Sure but living here, growing up with them, kinda, I can tell ya first hand, they're crap.

Had a recent conversation about how the US has nothing but the Corvette and comparatively, only just this last year can hang. The Hellcat is ********. The Camaro Z/28, maybe. Cadillac might have a player but, not really.

WoW! As someone who OWNED a Modified GTO Judge and built a replica '67 Mustang California Special (look that up for fun), and have read much on FORD's RICH and INOVATIVE racing history, I take offence! And just what do you propose as BEST my YOUNG expert!?

When you compare the contemporary Muscle Cars of the 60's/70's between the US & over here, you guys got diamonds. We got pebbles :irked:
If you look at recent times, the Shelby GT500 & Hellcat leave a lot to be desired, make me wonder what Ford & Dodge learnt from the past and prove horsepower isn't the answer to everything.
I've run the GT500 & 2010 Camaro in standard condition around the Nordschleife only to find the Ford is only 3.7 seconds faster!
The modern Z28 & Z06 are examples of what can be done when those in charge use their brains. The new Shelby GT350(R) with the flat-plane crank makes me think the light has finally been switched on at Ford. If proves reliable, it's destined to become a classic.

Hah, no offense friend. I'm 40. Been in a lot of cars. Raced cars doing Autocross. Won in my EP Honda a very lot, for 8 years (7 year class champ locally). Have preferences. This probably isn't the right place to discuss cars. But I will say any car with a solid axle is gonna have problems. Watts link, a torque tube and the most expensive dampers in the world can't overcome them.

Personally, I don't think there is anything wrong with your american classic cars. Look at what we considered cool cars in that period here in Britain. Luckily we had the Mini to make us seem cool because most of our other efforts were pretty shocking. I would take a GT350 or Camaro Z28 any day of the week for a driving experience. I couldn't afford the petrol to go in it but at least it would be nice to look at.

Also, try and keep any statement about how bad a car is a little more neutral. I don't want this thread to be the start of a big debate and fallings out between the tuners. :)

I will put a new perspective on how great cars are. Older cars did not have electronic chips, devices to control carbon emissions and computers that could detect a dimple in the road to make it comfier for the driver. I like the sound of that right now, due to the fact that the car my wife and I own is currently on a list to have engine work done to it to remove the cheat device, and change a fuel injector so it conforms with EU regulations on car emissions. The car I drive handles great and looks smart, but sometimes modern doesn't always means we have progressed in a positive manner.

Looks good to me. Just to check, is it 0.02 for your rear toe? And 5.500 for your initial final gear?

And food!

Tuner notes: The transmission is set up as a five speed transmission with the FC transmission. Don't think that it's weird that you don't use 6th gear on the long straight. :)

Edit: This tune has now been withdrawn from the event but if you want to give it a go, feel free.

Speaking of that, does anyone know how to upload pics to this site from mobile? The long and short of it is, my current game progress is saved under a random ps3 login and password and I can't remember the password to login.
Edit : I use my phone for everything, I don't have a computer
