FITT - Moving on to GT6!

I agree. In fact, that was my original concept for the "world challenge" but with the number of testers falling off I may save that for when GT6 rolls around.

Let's do a quick brainstorm and see what we come up with for this.

Weather tracks:

Spa
Eiger
Nurb 24h
La Sarthe
Suzuka
Monza
High Speed Ring
SSR7
Chamonix (snow)

SSR7 isn't exactly a tuning challenge and Nurb is too long for a multi track. Chamonix doesn't really fit. Not everyone may have Spa.

Eiger is short and works well with the setup, HSR too. Suzuka is long but the only complex track of the bunch that are left.

Touring cars would be fun but not everyone may have those either. JGTC/Super GT cars are easy to come by but not a whole lot of variety, same with NASCARs. If we go with road cars I think we stay in the range of 450-550 with S2 or S3 tires.

Thoughts?

I think the FITT Tuner Car Challenge can move to the archive. Is there still enough energy left in GT5 to do another one this summer. I cannot be in charge of one until my SCCA racing season is done in October, but may be able to find time to participate.

GOOD DAY 100% RAIN for a RACE is VERY TIRING I'VE PARTICIPATED in 70% NOW SPA CIRCUIT of RAIN in LA SARTHE is ALSO HARD UP for a 530 PP BECAUSE of large SCALE CAR VERY STRAIGHT but a HELL of a challenge.

I tested one of digi's cars and that is the Celica (ST205) rally car. a few quirks, so here it goes; The dampers and springs, harmonious balance. Nice stiff feedback, swaybars also fine., however you have the gears wrong, when i went to go set them the numbers were off and all of mine were smaller., And yes it is the only Premium Celica rally as i have the right car., now for the quirks, but remember this is kinda comin' from a age old rallyer. LSD is terrible on the front The numbers were way two high., If set a little lower you may have gotten a better drift, while maintaining the perfect suspension settings., because remember the LSD works with the suspension., I tryed to give an honest feedback, And the only reason i feel like i can is because i have been messin with the rallying since GT3., so thank you for havin it, and by the way your link is broken to your garage.

Okay, now I know my playing time has fallen of, and alot of regulars have moved on to other games...but I feel we need to send off GT5 and the great FITT shootouts we've had in style.

So here is what I propose.

A championship shootout. Only past shootout winners can enter (this may be tough as many are no longer playing). Only one car to tune (if we're the best of the best lets see what can be done with the same car).... and well that's all I have as of now :dopey:

I think we need at least one more ti say goodbye to GT5. Whadaya think?

Nice idea....
-Need to be a top prestigious car.
-Not easy to tune.
-On the most beautifull track.
-With a good amount of PP

For example : Enzo/Nordschleife/600PP/RH Tires ....????? :):dunce:👍

So much combinations are possibles !!

As tester anybody can enter with a pool???? or laptimes and driver's choice??

><(((((°>°°°°°

Have you been reading my mind? Enzo, Mc F1, Veyron,... ect
.
.
...but all the best tuners tuning a Honda Beat does sound fun as well :dopey:

Open to all and any suggestions and lets give GT5 a great GTP tuning forum FITT fair well :D

Much like my past shootouts, any driver can test, and a fast lap will be scored separate from drivers choice

Sounds great, my only slight reservation is the high PP, not all of us tuners are brilliant drivers (me :P) and working out what's wrong with a tune can be difficult at high PP's, eg, is there excessive oversteer or is that just the power completely overwhelming the rear wheels in low gears.

That said, I can't remember the last time a high PP challenge was done, so maybe it'll work.

We have had some highish shootouts recently.

Tuner Car 575PP
Wagons 525PP
Nordschleife 550PP
Clueless Classic 615PP
Race Car 625PP
Fall Battle 2.0 550PP

A lot of the ones near 600 have been racecar shootouts though, more downforce, easier to drive. We could try 600 road car I guess.

The Indy shootout CSL hosted way back in the day was also 600PP with road cars. It was on RMs and I don't remember there being much trouble for the tuners or drivers. In fact it was the first one I tried tuning for. :) I think with the right car/tire combo it won't be an issue. The Enzo does have (minimal) front downforce from what I remember.

Fair enough, I guess if Racing tyres are involved it shouldn't be too much of a problem.

Dear god. I nearly reported you for that. :P
(Tapped the wrong button, didn't actually report you )

I've never been reported. That would be interesting

"Krenkme is being WAY too goofy, I'd like to report him"
:dopey:

Okay, now do we try to get just the past shootout winners, or have it open?

Depends on how many are still active I suppose. I will try to compile a list of winners and podiums unless someone else has done this already. I though CSL had but I think he has disappeared. :scared:

There was a post here of all previous winners, may be a few pages back.

Well once we have a list, I can beg and plea to those I have on PSN (I assume I have most of them) to see if they'll return for one last fling :dopey:

If there is really going to be one last shootout...I technically tied for first on the Stars & Stripes mini-shootout. That counts as a win right?:sly:

I didn't get to play for about 6-7mos until I got another ps3 and I just got internet in my new apt this week, so, I didn't have many chances to win any shootouts :(

Previous shootout winners list:
Dr_Slump
Praiano63
CSLACR
Rotary Junkie
XDesperado67
ACSR421
Theo777
MotorCityHamilton
krenkme
Adrenaline
MrGrado
TrackRipper123
Johnnypenso
-raVer-
Dylans1o

Any that I'm missing?

There's that old list. Add Onboy for his win in the Wagon shootout, and I think there are a few more that need to be added, but in essence, that's it. raVer and Dylans1o are inactive AFAIK, and I haven't seen XDespy in a while too.

What do you think are the five most evenly matched cars in the game at 500PP? BMW M3... what else? Thinking about doing one more GT5 challenge, 500PP, sport soft and limited to tuner's choice of five cars?

I'm not sure, because I'm not normal :dopey:

But I would guess cars like the Lotus and the NSX...but at 500pp I like the Dodge Challenger or the Mustang... I cant believe I said a ford...

I like the off the wall cars (in case you didn't know) so maybe leave a spot open for something strange?:dopey:

I totally agree here, often in tuning shootouts it's the oddballs that make the challenge interesting, and they sometimes turn out really well too.

Though MCH, I guess if that's what you're trying to iron out in the first place, then fair enough.

Yes. Spot on. I do not want a field of Lotus, S2000s, NSXs, LFAs, RX8s, Supras, etc. Thinking Corvette, Camaro, Mustang, Viper, Challenger, Ferarri 599, Aston Martin DB9, Speed 6, RX7, 350Z, M3, 8C Competizone, Ferarri California, 300ZX, 240 SX, Merc 190. Are these cars even enough to only allow one tuner per car?

Thinking about this as the list (below). Fifteen sets of cars. Only one tuner can sign up for a set of cars. Does anyone see any overdogs in this grouping?

GT5 500PP Tuner Challenge on Sport Soft
Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione ‘08
Aston Martin DB9 Coupe ’06 or DB7 Vantage Coupe ’00 or V8 Vantage ‘99
