MOTORTRENDmitch was organizing something like that. No news there for the past week though, so if you want me to open some kind of budget-limited challenge then sure I'm up for it. đź‘Ť

Someone needs to think through the parameters. How many credits give access to a large enough field of cars? Should any of the usual suspects be banned (NSX, Lotus, ZZ, etc.)? What range of cars are we looking for (small, low HP or ability to build a RM model)? Mandate one tire or allow tires to be part of the budget? How do we factor in the cost of the car (limit to only premiums? Must post a photo of the UCD screen?) Stuff like that.

ZZII should be banned IMO, that thing should not be selling for 60k when it has specs similar or greater than most Ferrari's.

Although you could apply a similar argument to the R35 GTR... So maybe it shouldn't be?

I have been (slowly) working on a budget shootout, and what I came up with was premium cars (so we all know the cost) and anything goes. If someone wants to spend there whole budget on one car then fine, but if someone wants to buy a AZ-1 and put RS tires and more on it, so be it. I was leaning towards 150,000cr, but that is as far as I got. I think it would be fun to see what is important for each tuner. Plus you don't need to brake in your cars if you don't wanna :dopey:

I like that. Especially the bit about break-in not necessary. :dopey: Since it's not a PP limited thing it shouldn't matter anyway.

I will try to translate. Motor limit, suspension limit and weight limit for less than maximum credits. Roj do you want to run that one? Or someone else?

I think it might be interesting to say anything goes for under $100,000? That includes car, tires and upgrades.
correct my friend:tup:

Was sort of waiting to see if the car on a budget challenge developed before posting my Tuner Car Challenge. Was thinking tunes due by May 5th. Should I go ahead and post the event?

Go with yours. I hope I can at least be competitive this time... and have a TV soon :dopey:

I'm getting fond of GVE reverse after last week's WRS. Nice short track with the power we'll have.

Also, I've noticed my favorite tuner car isn't up on the list. The RE Amemiya FD should be able to reach 575PP. If it doesn't I'd use it anyway. :P

Is that a tuner car or a race car? Happy to add if just a tuner car.

GVE is one of my favs too. I was thinking about picking one track but use the normal direction for on class and the reverse for the other. Switch it up a little for the test drivers?

Updated specs here... https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showthread.php?p=8368176#post8368176

I am hoping to see new tunes used for this competition and not just cars off the shelf that have been through FITT Challenges before. If you do choose to enter a car that has been used before, you should at least spend a little time refining it more and update the tune.

Will post in the next few days. May 5th tuner deadline.

Crap on a stick! I thought I moved it but it definitely is missing. Now I'm wondering where I sent the link... :scared: Adding now.

friends as would be a scheduled event for you with road cars with 600 pp having to use the same setting for three circuits being a circuit with 40% of rain water on the runway or ex; ((SPA-FRANCORCHAMPS) a in the city (COTE D'AZUR), an original ex; (NORDWND EIGER SHORT RACK). cars chosen for you being a 4WD and a FR so with ABS in 1 rest everything off. It would be an interesting setup to three circuits that you find.đź’ˇ

Never thought about doing a weather shootout before. Could be interesting.

The only problem I can see, and I think I am correct, is that the surface water will not stay at 40% consistently. With the weather "off" I believe it slowly dries as you run laps and with it on...well. :dunce: Obviously performance will start to differ as the track does.

I think if we were to do a wet challenge it would have to be 100% surface/weather to keep a consistent test environment.

The other questions...is a rain setup different enough from normal? Is 600PP too high in that it will scare off some testers or make tuning a chore? Would going with race cars and rain tires be better or down to say 400-450PP?

I'm in!!! :dopey:

100% rain sounds great. The cars would need to be tuned for a more controllable behaviour and a good balance. I think they'll be quite different in comparison to dry weather time attack tunes.

600 PP and REALLY TOO was ONLY a SUGGESTION BUT IT WOULD BE INTERESTING to a UN CAR SETUP and 3 CIRCUITS
