It's compatible with a PS4 controller?? That sounds pretty good!
Run DS4Windows, fools your PC into thinking that your DS4 is an X-box controller, even supports wireless.

I've since got a Logitech Extreme 3d Pro which feels better and has a couple more buttons, and a built in MSF profile.

Oooo, how is it, I've been looking at one of those.

I would recommend it. It feels good and 12 buttons + hat is plenty for the more common actions.
Brilliant, now I just need to find one!

Ordered direct from Logitech, as I'm not paying £90 for one, and thanks to Brexit they are citing 2-4 weeks delivery.

Thanks Boris!

I'm in two minds whether to get this, but I only have a laptop at the moment, albeit with the right specs (I think...) 8GB RAM, i5 processor etc., but how are the controls on a PC/laptop, can you just use the keyboard or should you get some peripherals?

It's a pity this isn't on PS4, as I have PSVR (though don't use it much), but I won't be buying any more VR kit since it makes me feel too queasy. Rather, I reckon I might buy a higher-end monitor or perhaps a projector (which I was looking into anyway), and hence that would be cool for a flight sim, but for the moment I'd be playing it on a laptop screen which kind of feels like it might not be so good.... thoughts/tips?

It will run it but I’d temper your expectations a wee bit if you want it looking as good as many of the screenshots and videos you see, 8gb ram is quite low to be honest, I’ve just doubled mine from 16 to 32 last week and the improvements are quite noticeable, still as others have pointed out it will run it and if you’re like me then you’ll be hooked and scanning the upgrade options :D

For some reason the sky isn't loading today at Barra. Steady breeze though.

I had the same last night, set a flight to land at Barra, starting about 20 miles out, and forgot to check the weather.

Couldn’t see a damn thing for the fog and the rain, you see why they limit landing at Barra depending on the weather and time of day.

The clouds were at about 700ft today, turning under the cloud base and keeping the airport in sight wasn't really possible in P3D, but it looks stunning (and genuinely a bit scary) in FS2020.

I'd be more concerned about the tide!

My sister has landed at Barra IRL once (in a plane, I mean...) and it sounds like an amazing experience.

@Pearl Jam Thanks for the tip, I doubt I will buy a PC any time soon, so I may miss out on this... it looks amazing, but then again so does Minecraft and Cities Skylines if you have enough PC power, time, patience and skill... of which I have none (well, except for time, but this looks like it fits in with the category of 'main hobby', which in my case is music and drinking alcohol...)

3 hours later...

It was at 2.5Mbits/s all afternoon, but it always slows down in the evening. It'll pick back up again overnight.
Not to rub it in but I was downloading it as fast as 120 Mbits/s at times on my new gig fibre connection. Took around 20 minutes for me this afternoon.

I hate you all.

It was over half way done last I checked. It should be done by morning.
I see that you’re Scottish so with the speed of your internet you should be quite proficient with Outer Skerries as I’m guessing you live local ?

So had a little fly around tonight.

Neither of the Severn Bridges is correct.

However, Castle Combe Racetrack is spot on, even down to the solar farm in the infield.

As is the Motor Industry Research Association proving grounds.

You'd think, wouldn't you? No, I live about here.

Anyway, as you can guess from that screenshot, I'm back up and running flying.

Found a mod for the Falkirk Wheel. It's a load better but there are trees growing through the building.

I found a bridge in Bristol yesterday that has cars driving off it on thin air, and if I recall Bristol was one of the places upgraded in the UK and Ireland update.

I did grab a video of the flight, will try and pop it up later.

I turned the road traffic off. I thought it looked a bit silly and unconvincing.
