You're 10 points ahead of joshua now, who is the first one in the wildcard race. I think you'll be just fine. ;)

Oh I see, thought for some weird reason I would only gain a few points if I finished higher than my 2nd-lowest finish, because my dropped race had already been included in the totals... if that makes any sense

Hey, guys. Just wanted to mention it's been great racing with you all. I've never been in a series before, so this is my first time counting points at the end of the race. I'm actually looking forward to Madrid.
It's always fun to participate in a race(s) with such a high level of competition.
Thanks RT for setting it up.

So Jack your best result last time out good going 👍, to bad my net failed opon rejoining the room subsequently corrupting my Gt5 Data.... a years worth of cars, exp ect gone :(.

Yes I think so. Mole sent me the pint I had for my car and ive roughly matched the wheel colour to my old ones.

Just need to break it in so I can start practising for Madrid

(Currently getting Bob to lvl 25 :P)

Hi all!

First, I want to thank RT because I know what it takes to make a league... TIME! About the Spa race, a few comments:

I saw the replay, and some people did very bad shortcuts. The accident where bdubclub ended on the gravel was because a car was trying to enter the track and collided with him. Also, a couple minor bumps but nothing major, was a very hard and close race. On the very last lap, having the right mirror filled with RT and the left one with forced, I nearly burst into tears when I got the checkered flag!

2 things that to have in mind:
- People need to avoid crossing the white line after exiting the pits and;
- Please don't gain unfair time by doing shortcuts on free run since there are no penalties.

Madrid should be good since there are no shortcuts to be made.

Good race ketiux 👍
I would really like to see someone try and cheat at Madrid

No shortcuts but loads of walls :scared: lol

Is anyone up for some practice tonight ?

Yes. Walls. Walls jutting out everywhere! LOL. I honestly feel this track flows better in reverse. Still technical, but the barriers seem to be placed correctly that way. Can't say the same for the normal counter-clockwise running. I have a feeling the wall that protrudes out on the back straight, after the first hairpin, is going to catch someone out. And that might cause quite the pile up, depending.

Managed to get down to a 1:32.690. Not sure how that will fair. Would love to get another podium under my belt, after the dismal start to the series. 👍

Well said Ketiux, you earned it, and I am being 100% truthful when I say that I was proud, happy and excited to see you pull off a win against me and RT. This might just be sim racing, but it still takes a boat load of talent to maintain focus for an hour with some hard-chargers breathing down your neck. I knew you had the pace many months ago when we battled in the spec lobby. Well done, and looking forward to Madrid as well. :)

I ran some practice laps last night. I think my best lap was somewhere in the high 1:35's. I am still getting used to the new wheel, and this was my first time using manual transmission, since I couldn't use manual with my old wheel. This might be a newbie question, but with the power band on this car, what is the best time to shift? I know the car is at peak horsepower at 7,500 rpm's, but the power curve doesn't dramatically decline right away. Is right around the redline of 8,000 rpm's or maybe a bit past the best time to shift?

Shift at 9000 rpm for 1st and 2nd. When shifting up to 4th from 3rd, I shift at about 92 mph, depending on the corner approaching, which I think is just after 8500 rpm. But I've seen other people shift at different points. You should definitely be shifting after the little red light comes on at 8250 rpm.

Same here.
43 67 92 121 are my shift points in general. 8500RPM for third and fourth, or somewhere very close to.

Of course if there's a corner coming up soon, it can benefit in .020 increments to hold in a lower gear.

I noticed that in practice races, it appears that I gain time on you by holding out in each gear, not by much, but a little.

I just feel like anything higher the car seems like it's running out of breath.

yeah, I wind that thing out til it's going to explode before shifting except the 4-5 shift seems to like coming at red-line.
Though I'm still shocked I can jump everyone off the line by launching at 6k rather than bouncing the rev limit. Really figured people would have noticed that by now.

I shift as late as posable in 1st 2nd 3rd (same as *CSL), a bit sooner for 4th, and 5th I have tried shifting late and early, the best for me was 121.5 to 122 MPH. Some faster people shift at 119 to 120, for me, 121.5 worked best. This helped a lot at Spa.

even though I get a chuckle every time you say CLS, i'll have to correct you... you're in the wrong part of Germany.

It's not:

Sorry, I just remember that his name is like a car and has "C" "L" and "S" in it.
The first combo I think of is a mercedes :dunce:

Same mix up happens with my name, is it PTP, carra, cara, carrot, and cankersore (really  ). I'v been called all of them.

At least I'm still referring to car 👍

Actually I found the best off-the-line from feathering the throttle a bit.
But when I start races, I'd rather burn as much rubber as possible off the rear to help handling the whole first stint. ;)

Smoke the tires and light 'em on fire!

I hate how this car handles best with the rear tire worn.

So after almost 2 weeks of my internets being out its supposed to come back on tonight. Stupid charter. I should be on tonight for some practice, but then again we're getting our first snow of the season so we'll see if power stays on lol.
