What disadvantage does a drafting track put you at that it doesn't to others?
We all know the car likes to understeer and it does so a little bit more with the draft effects. At least from my perspective, it goes to the extreme and I struggle to follow someone, even if they're much slower than I am. It also destroys my tires as a consequence. The thing is that the issue disappeared with Spec 2.0 but then came back with the following patch.

Also, my brakes behave so differently in draft conditions that I often mess up on the first few laps if I'm not in the lead. For some reason, it's not as big a problem if I set the bias to the front which I why I had that setup earlier in the season.

I think anything in the 32s range is OK for lap times. I have a couple replays and that's what outlaw and Aderr were running.

Cold tires. ;)

Just thought I'd mention that's how DC's work, at least how all of mine have.
I've only DC'd 1-2 times since August or September (knocks on wood) but all it does it go "beep" and bring up "you have been disconnected from the server", makes you press circle and takes you back to the GT Life screen.

To be disconnected from PSN would either require a PSN issue, or your internet doing something really extreme. I've never heard of you DC'ing, so it's certainly a rare occurrence, but 🤬 happens. :banghead:

From now on, Im gonna reset my router before I start a series race. Im going to triple check everything from now on :D. I cant afford to get disconnected anymore specially when I was picking up pace on the race. :ouch: Stupid GT5!!

I had the exact same issue, it's likely what caused many of the early mistakes in our race.
This car drives like absolute crap in the draft, never thought of checking the BB, I was running 2/6 the whole race at Spa.
One thing I noticed is the extra speed, every little bit hurts, if you have draft the entire way through any of the corners you need to brake a LOT earlier, especially when you get your speed close to 150. (highest I hit was 148, close to maxed)

I don't know, I reset my router about once a week or so, and clear my cache every few rooms I join, but that's about it.
I'm sure fully resetting doesn't usually hurt though. I might go back to resetting my router before every race too, seems like I've been getting bits of lag more often lately.

I'm not sure why you've done either, but we really need to make sure we enable these features so we have maximum visibility for this exact reason.

I usually have the map enabled whenever I am racing but I turned it off the last time I played GT5 so I could enjoy the Ring in all its splendor. I kept telling myself to turn it back on while warming up for yesterday's race but always remembered after I started a new stint.

As for having "look left" and "look right" mapped to my G25, well I only have two buttons on my steering wheel and those are reserved for "look back" and "flash laser beams." I used to have "look left" and "look right" mapped to the d-pad on the G25 shifter but I felt having the option to change brake bias on the fly would pay better dividends. I guess it wouldn't be a problem if I raced from the roof cam but I like the cockpit view. Oh well, I'll make sure my map's on next time.

It's been my experience both are very useful tools for following standard procedure of re-entering track, of course having a DFGT, I haven't had to re-map anything at all.
The map's better for re-entering, look left/right is more useful for cornering side by side, etc

Everyone mentions resetting their router but I hardly ever see anyone mention power cycling/resetting their modem. Some people say this helps, some say it doesn't do anything, but it can't hurt for my purposes so I usually pull the plug before each race.

It was hard to adjust to the lack of buttons on the steering wheel when I upgraded from my DFP with the biggest annoyance being the inability to check if someone is inside or outside. Now I just listen, assume, or use the mirrors if applicable when in close nose-to-tail, side-by-side racing. I definitely would like to have the feature back but taking your hands and eyes off the wheel to find the d-pad on the shifter is a bit too much.

I am just mentioning my thoughts. I don't think you are suggesting I need to or have to remap the buttons. Just in case something is getting lost in internet speaklation.

I would advise a new router, I use to have disconnect problems every once in a while, until I got a new router. Ever since, I have not once reset it, and not once had a disconnect, knock on wood.....

I quietly mock your lack of steering wheel buttons.

It can't be my router as I very rarely disconnect, but I guess no matter how good ur connection is, you may have a disconnection or two once in a while. I should have reset my router and modem :( Oh well...

yeah, sometimes bad things just happen with the internet.
everyone likes to find an answer to every problem but sometimes it's just that the internet is a 'best effort' system.
It sucks sometimes but this is still better than running time trials against each other. (hence the reason I've run maybe two WRS events in GT5 when i did hundreds previous).

If that's quiet, what is loud?

It happens to just about everyone. In all the series I've raced in, I've had two DQ's and the first one was when my internet went down for a minute. Oddly enough, that DNF was very welcome. :dopey:

I want to secretly hate the GTP News page right now, but alas I'll post my disappointment here. Wonder how much sucking up you have to do to Jordan for him to post your racing series on the News page. I know we've asked for it before and got squat.

Blah.

Edit: Whatever...

Been away for the last 24 hrs

Did I even call out names? What are you on about? You've never been frustrated before in your life? Im not bashing Turbo or calling names, whatever. For someone who kept whining about a little contact and then call me immature is pretty funny.

Deny, deny, deny.

I know a lot of you want to give Nepalii some slack. But I have been in multiple series with him, and personally I am tired of it. You seem to have no concept of how much effort the series hosts put into these series.

You bad mouthed the car setups in PURE after the testing period was over. You and everyone else was asked to try out the cars for over 3 weeks. Dom, Dennis, Eddie, and others spent those weeks testing to create what every other driver in that series considers well matched cars. Yet you complain that the cars are awful once the cars were locked in. Dennis does so much work for that series, and to have to deal with all your negative criticism was ridiculous.

Names? After Jason has been doing so much work for this series, and even considered not running another Miata season because he was unsure if his series was "keeping up." Most of us expressed to him how great the series is and how we really enjoy it, and want to do it again. You provide him with the comments:
I really thought this was organized, and apparently it isn't.

But tonight you get an F for organization :D.

These were far from your only negative comments. I guees the face you put after makes it ok to tell the series organizer that he is doing a bad job.

About the "little contact" that you gave me. The fact that you call a dive-bomb a "little contact" speaks volumes. I tried to resolve this with you through pm, but you basically told me the same thing. You consider that dive-bomb to be my fault. Whaaa? I received multiple pms from others that saw your antics and told me they thought your driving was dirty to say the least.

I know you love to rave about the BTCC and how they have so much contact. This is not the BTCC. Please read the rules that all of us here race by. GTPlanet Online Racing Rules. There are so many of these rules that you have broken multiple times when I have raced with you. So I will not quote all the ones you need to refresh yourself on, because there are too many.

There is a reason that many of us that have raced with you have a saying for when we got punted off track. You know that we say it, yet do nothing to adjust your driving. When we get punted off, we say we got Nepalii'd.

I can only hope some of this is a wake up call. You are a fast driver. But please be aware that there are other people on the track trying to enjoy their race. We are all driving by a set of rules, and you seem to be driving by another(BTCC?). I have linked you to the rules that the rest of us drive by, please consider following them as well.

And please consider giving the series organizers a bit of respect. They spend a lot of their free time setting these up. They are not required to do so, and they are not paid to do so. Many of us really appreciate the hard work they put in, and are grateful for the community they create.

I think GTP sponsors that series...

You just read what interests you, dont you? It's ok, Im going to give you a quick summary of what you apparently haven't read. I PM'd RT and I personally apologized for my behavior. I acknowledged the mistake that I did. Haven't you been hot headed before where you just feel so frustrated?! Outlaw felt the samething after Nurburgring, and now I understand why he felt that way. He even considered leaving the series, and at first I thought he was overreacting but now I know why that thought crossed his mind. It really messes you up. Oh Im "sorry" for being too competitive. It's just a game to some, but for me it's more than that.

When have I said that I don't appreciate the work RT or any other hosts put into their series? I said at that moment, and I didn't mean it. If I didn't appreciate his work, I wouldnt be here would I? I wouldnt be spending hours and hours practicing to improve would I? You just love to mess with me, don't you? Because I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one that has done mistakes like this. You are the one who needs to grow up, because apparently you just LOVE messing with me.

You can have your own opinion about me, but there is no need to brag about it in front of everyone. I'm not perfect, nobody is. Apparently, you are "mr. perfect". Give me a break.

Yeah doesn't matter. I honestly would rather not have to keep track of that many people, so more power to 'em.

120 people... this will be interesting.

When does season 4 start of FMSC anyway? I need to finish my track, and start lobbying for new ideas ( like bring back the old, stock, no RM, MX-5:sly: )

Why do you want the old mx-5 the one we use looks so cool. :dopey:

End of January.

Was holding out on this, but if you want to drive a stock car then you'll have to drive in the Hard Dog Challenge series. (Bone stock '07 MX-5's on sport hards)

;)

Hard Dog Challenge series... I thought that died?

Anyway I hate cars that push in and on exit of corners. I guess it give me more practice with handling understeer.

The old one, not the new one.

Not to sound like a noob, but I had no clue about an old or a new one, if someone could please point me in the right direction.
Also, not that it matters RT, but who cares if they post your series or not, fact is you were the first to have actual sponsors, have over 40 regular participants, I say you have nothing to be ashamed of. Chin up son, you run a great series.

I'll look for the post, but it's really not important. You don't know about the new one because I resisted spilling the beans until now. :P

All true, and thanks. 👍

Nepalii, I just want to be able to race under fair circumstances. The gtplanet OLR rules are great for that. I don't want to practice all week, and get Nepalii'd.

No, I do not "love" "messing with you." I would be so much happier if I didn't have to waste any of my time discussing this. It would be great if you just followed the OLR rules. Then I wouldn't ever have to "mess" with you.

It would also be awesome if I didn't have to read another thread where you are bashing the series organizer. I give you props for pm'ing Jason to apologize. I am hopeful that pm was more successful than ours.

Hah, Mr. Perfect. I wish.
