Grid order work out ok?
Sounds like you guys had an equally if not more awesome race then D3.đź‘Ť

Grid order was perfect. I had to semi-exit a few times to kick randoms and thankfully it didn't mess things up.

Nice, congrats Ketiux. đź‘Ť

Edit: I think D3 has had the curse that happened on Nurburgring. We are haunted . Oh s:censored:, just realized that the only 2 races I have complained about(tonight and Nurburgring) were the only ones that Wardez showed up to. oops, Im sorry Wardez but I think you are the problem :D. It is a coincidence. :)

1st thru 4th positions finished within 1 second. Welsh was there too at the start of the last lap, think he lost the draft? In any case, WOW.

Edit: Ketiux won, and he earned it.

Couldn't have said it any better. Welsh and I ran 38.6's in qualifying, with welsh taking pole by .016s! Then an epic race with all kinds of action, too long to describe. Bad luck for Welsh who would have easily been a part for the 4 way battle for the win on the final lap. The draft makes it 50% crapshoot,50% racecraft, but I tell you what - Ketiux drove flawlessly to take a well earned win. It could have went to either R1600 or myself on the final lap, and I set up for a last corner braking maneuver after the slipstream going in to the final chicane, but had no where to go so I backed off to settle in behind the attacking R1600 after I set up for outside/inside pass. Well done to all, especially the podium ;) and great pace by brosif as well in what was easily the best race of the season. Madrid will have a much different feel I think but we'll see. Great fun tonight, and well done again to all :)đź‘Ť

So did you wait for every one to be in the pits before starting it manually?

We told everyone to stay out of the pits. Looks like it worked.
:)

I'm gonna go out on a limb and guess you didn't leave the track after your best lap for quali?
Also, in the future if you need fillers to block/vote kick randoms, I'm almost always free Sunday nights, so it wouldn't be a problem, Sundays are for racing ya know. ;)

I parked it after my best lap and immediately had to start the race. Unfortunately one random made it through, but thankfully he wasn't an issue and was using the same car. But yeah, we may need someone else to host so they can run the show and kick randoms while we do our thing.

So, Auto Start wasnt ON? Maybe that could be the issue like Brandon stated.

I don't trust my connection enough to host a full grid after last week.

But I do know you can "vote" to kick randoms, and that usually works, so that's an idea. Could also type asking them to leave, much easier done from the sidelines then mid quali lap.

Of course assuming StigHero's method works for us, then people can be kicked right up till race time too.

IDK, he said that was an issue because people would still be on track, and we've certainly got a way to get the grid proper without anyone leaving the track, so that may be the difference, and not the auto-start itself.

I just wan to chime in on the grid order issue. Yes it was out of order, and EVERYONE who noticed it and didn't say anything about it is partly to blame, myself included.

I know apologies have been made, but I feel the need to say that the tone of some peoples complaints in this thread following today's race was offensive and immature. Racing issues and complaints should be resolved by PM, not publicly in the thread. This is common sense.

Which means me and Nastra are tied at 5th/6th, which is the cutoff for guaranteed entry to Laguna! :scared:
I'm sorry to do this, but next week my sister has decided to visit from out of the country and two weekends from now is the weekend before what I hope are the last exams I will ever have to take. For these reasons, I'm going to bow out from the rest of the races. I'll be back January 1, 2012 for wheel to wheel racing.

2. Race Report

I qualified 7th and started second on the grid. I let off to fall back to my proper position. I was in 8th after a few corners. We all should have spoken up about the grid mismatch.

I was part of the 9 or 10 car train for the first 7ish laps. That was insane! Because of the disconnection problems I forgot to check where the pit entrance was!
I botched the pit entry at the end of lap 9 (I was just following Wardez). Wardez got a way from me on the out lap because of this. I was slowly pulling him in, but he caught some sand on lap 11 which allowed me to pass him. Three other cars caught us at this point: Tnj, SAM, Carracer.

Me, Wardez, Tnj, SAM, and Carracer began 10 laps of the most epic group racing I have experienced. Here is a sample lap of what we were dealing with:

All four of you were incredibly respectful and skilled. This was my first time racing with SAM and he was great. Thank you all so much for the wonderful experience. To be honest, around lap 20 I was so happy with our racing I didn't care where I finished. đź‘Ťđź‘Ťđź‘Ť

That being said, on lap 21 disaster struck (this shows the whole last lap):

I was lucky in this case. :D
I was a bit disappointed that it ended that way though.

3. The Leaders' Battle

Here is the last lap of Minion and Spyhunter:

Please ignore the very awkward laugh I have at Minions pass. It was too much for me.

A little disappointed to be handed 5th out of a tie to be honest. (not to say Greennarcotics can't get me yet)
Gotta do what you gotta do though, look forward to racing with you again, in whatever series it may be next.

Hmmm...

My opinion about the last lap mess that resulted in Wardez and SAM going off was that the car on the inside (TnJF?) shouldn't have been there. However, it's nice that he pulled over and let everyone by. đź‘Ť

Ugh...very disappointing race for me. This was worse than Nurburgring. An hour before the race starts, Turbo says I'm lagging even though I cleared cache prior to joining the room, so I take the time to reset my router. However, that actually made things much worse and for some reason I was having a very difficult time getting connected. I was very worried and pissed off that I wasn't going to make the race but I did. However, when I entered, everyone was already qualifying and I only got one lap in. So no time to warm up and reach my best time before the race started.

So I started in 12th, which was really last place since Frogman was a random and was never really part of the race. I made it to 10th but then on lap 8 I just randomly lost control of the car and spun out. I have no clue what on this blue earth caused it but it was very sudden. I guess it was that spike lag people were talking about after the race was over. But that pretty much sealed the deal and I ended up in dead last.

But congratulations to ketuix for winning. Hopefully this awful experience won't happen to me again on Madrid.

Sorry to MotorCity, MuoNiula, JayB, and frogman for that incident on turn 1 at the beginning of the race. I was having trouble with my wheel and pedals moving all race (I need a real stand), but that was no excuse for what happened at the beginning of the race. I made a stupid mistake, hit the brake just a tad too late, and ended up in the middle of a pile. I hope I didn't cost anyone their position. If it's any condolence, I dropped back, and pretty much gave myself no shot of competing in the race.

No worries man. đź‘Ť

Great race guys!

I just watched the replay and my pass on Spyhunter on the last lap wasn't clean and i have no problems giving him the 1st place.

Thanks for the awesome teamwork Spy đź‘Ť

Thanks for your response, here. If you had keep two tires on track, I would have been completely fine with the finish. Even the nudge in the chicane. I knew you were coming. I also knew you would have to come back over, as I held the inside line. When you went by on the inside, I was like, "Wait, wat?!" LOL.

Glad that both you and Red were willing teammates. đź‘Ť When you pit early, I thought for sure it was going to be Red and I at the end. However, he had a bobble that dropped him back just before pits. Thus, when I came out, you split us. From then on, it was just us.

As for Qualifying. I thought I had P2. Started in P3. I was slightly concerned at first, but not enough to worry about it. Honestly, my first reaction was, "Why am I P3?" My second was, "Oh, no! Where is Nepal?" I was glad (kinda. ;) ) to see him coming up, then saddened when he poofed.

It is too bad that there were issues. However, great racing by all that I encountered!

Wardez really does get the worst luck. From what I see, he was the truly helpless one there.

I didn't do these last week....been busy for me and I put practicing above it. But here are some now from Twin Cities Div1. I'll have the Spa shots done sooner, I have less stuff to do this week...

Looks good Longbow! You actually made it look like a respectable track.

Will upload those to the Flickr tomorrow. đź‘Ť

Edit: Results and Points standings have been updated. A couple notes:

- Lap leaders for Division 2 might be off
- Fastest Lap Times are not posted
- Additional penalties might be handed out

Both of the above will be updated tomorrow night after I have a chance to go over all of the replays.

Also, thanks to everyone involved in the Grid placement discussion we had today, we may have found a solution. Hopefully we can put it behind us and move forward.

Great racing from everyone, the D2 and D3 races were especially close with great racing all around! :)đź‘Ť

If you watch the replay I was right on his ass towards the end of the final lap, I tried multitple times to get around him and just couldnt. I saw an opening and went for it, and if Tnjf didnt make it 3 wide I really think we would have made it. But it was final lap, gloves are off. Its a shame after racing so close and hard without incident the entire time it had to come to that. I felt bad for all parties involved and decided to pull over and give up my position. Man, what a race though!

Well guys, I am really gutted with my race result, felt I could have had a top 5 tonight, ended up 7th. First few laps were a blast with everyone battling 1-8. Somewhere around lap 7 is when it started to go wrong for me. Coming in to the first chicane after the long straight, I was just biding my time behind ketiux with aliens right behind me. Everytime we went into that long braking spot it was pretty hairy, and it finally bit me. Not sure what happened, I either clipped the grass or maybe got a bump, which just unsettled my car a little bit, and I had to really slow just to not spin, and that gave the group just that little bit of room to where I lost the draft. So coming in to the first split on the next lap I lost 4 seconds on the leaders as a lone soldier chugging down that long straight all be my lonesome. Then I saw that brosif and RT must have had a mix up, leaving brosif in the sand and RT on the side of the track waiting for him. These next events were kind of a blur but brosif came on to the track, and I clipped him, sending me into RT, which then sent me into the sand. Needless to say I was a bit flustered with a race I had such high hopes for just slipping away. It was really nobody's fault but my own, I put myself in a really bad position by first losing the draft, then overcooking the brake zone which then put me out of position to avoid the carnage that was ahead. Brosif did wait for me, so I still had a chance. I was just so flustered after this, I lost all of my rhythm and wasn't able to keep in brosifs draft. After that it was just me looking in my mirror, trying to keep motorcity at bay cause he was charging and making a bit of a run on me in both stints, first and second. Good run motorcity, you had the pace to run in the lead pack. đź‘Ť

Also want to say Congrats to ketiux, won today starting from the 8th spot on the grid, has that ever been done before in one of these races?? Not bad for just a random pubber. :sly:

2 seasons ago? we did a miata race at Grand Valley East which was a blast. I started like 14th and ended up winning by .009 against RT:

I meant serious business today, I pulled the couch up directly to the TV lol

Yeah Sam also won (or lost?) against RT by .001.

Really an epic dude :D:tup:

Btw, are you playing BF3 or your roommates with your tag? 'cause I jumped in your game the other night joined your squad and went right up to you but didn't get a response. What's going on brochacho?

I won ;p Turbo and I have had quite a few battles.

ha yeah man my roomates play cod and bf3 a lot. I basically bought it to fly around in the jets, I always put on highway to the dangerzone on my phone once I finally get in one. So yeah it was most likely them, but if you see me playing GT its probably me.

I've only been gone since Wednesday and I had at least 15 pages of reading to do. Thanks a lot everyone.

First off, I'm a little disappointed to think that I had a chance of winning the division if it wasn't for the DQ at Nurb F. At least it looks like I'll be at Laguna Seca without the use of the wildcard. :)

Second, about the wrong grid order problem coming up again, to have no one say anything after it was clearly addressed in the forums after Twin Cities was nothing short of a shocker to me. :boggled:

Third, Spa looked like I was expecting all along, a draft-fest. Honestly, if it's not on a oval, I'm not fond of that type of racing, especially with GT5's drafting effects. I probably would have gone off early and finished mid-pack. :ouch:

Fourth, can't wait for Madrid. Confident for at least a podium there. đź‘Ť

Good racing in D1 last night, just unlucky Paul couldn't join us.

The grid has never been messed up in one of my rooms. I've pitted before, and it's worked. I semi-exited to kick a random last night and it worked. I had to quit track to kick 2 randoms at GVS Reverse and it still worked. I don't actually think I've ever experienced it go wrong.

Btw, I'm assuming you don't need the results, fastest laps etc posted RT if you have the replay?

Must have been too focused to even notice what happened. I'll have to watch the replay. At any rate it didn't hurt my race any so it's all good.

But it sure is fun with the right people!
