I played Iracing for about a month or so, but wasn't really into having to spend 10-15 bucks on each car/track that I wanted to race on, plus the monthly. You do get credits back by racing through a series, but it still was a little more than I wanted to spend.

At least try it, their website still shows the 3 months for the price of one ($13 US I think), and that gets you the two MX-5 cars for road courses and a '34 ford for oval courses.

I mainly just raced the MX-5 races. One track available in beginning was Lime Rock, but cannot remember what the other one was.

Some of the racing features; Spotters, Flags, Drive thru penalties, towing to pit lane, separate qualifying sessions, forming into grid order or start from pit road, were nice to have. Wish GT5 had some of those.

I just didn't have time nor wanted to put that much money into it. It was fun. If I weren't married and wanted to play a monthly fee game, that's probably what I would play.

So what is the hot time right now at Laguna? (AKA Adam, what is the fastest you have gone so far? :) ) I still have yet to turn a single lap there (FML) just insanely busy this week between work and a million other things. I will be lucky to get on tonight for 30 minutes. From there I will be relying solely on practice Sunday morning before the race. LOL. Oh well. I'll do my best on Sunday.

Also are you still running 2/6 on your brake bias here?

The fastest time I've seen was back when the DLC first came out and a lot of us practiced at Laguna. My recollection is that someone (I think it was Adam) ran a 33.3 but I think running consistent 33s is the key to stay with the lead pack.

Cool. I'm somewhat familiar with Laguna so I should be quick out of the box but I was really hoping to mount a challenge in raw pace on the back of lots of practice here. Oh well I'll give it a go and have some fun on Sunday!

I have been able to run more 33s than 34s, so thats good news. I just hope I can keep that pace on the race.

If a pratice room is not open, am I able to open an offical pratice for all drivers?

Practice man, practice! Doubt my pace will be any good to match Aderrrm's! he'll probably pull a 32 :scared:
I know that with all my best sectors put together, I can pull a 33.6 or .7 but the elevation changes and undulations on the track throw me off. That, and the car isn't trailbraking like I want it to.

Well, this won't do much good to anyone but here are my notes.

Andretti Hairpin - Aiming the car to the inside curb, trying to carry a V line through here so that once I'm back on throttle, I don't have to play around with it. Minor wheelspin issues on exit but nothing too serious.

T3 - Deceptive corner which requires a late entry and good trailbraking. I struggle with the former much more than the latter.

T4 - Need to use every bit of track. I keep the car in 3rd and lift slightly to the inside curb. Sometimes, the lift doesn't avoid the understeer and I go wide on exit.

T5 - Car flat out refuses to trailbrake properly and I can only go in at 70 mph when I know it can be done at around 72-73.

T6 - I really wish I could use 3rd but that scrubs off too much speed. Need to trailbrake enough to not go wide, holding at least 90 mph. There's a bump around the 1 marker which sometimes makes the car hesitate to turn.

Corkscrew - I don't know what the deal with the brakes are here. They are locking up far too often and the car won't turn on entry, forcing me to use them far earlier than I want to. This is what got me in trouble last season in the series. I'm aiming the nose inside to use minimal steering input throughout.

T9 - In order to get a good angle at the apex, I need to be all the way out on entry. I'm not brave enough to use full throttle, having a very small lift whenever I think I need it. However, there's a spot at the entry point where, if hit the wrong way, will make the car go straight, no matter what you do, sending you into the dirt. It happened to me yesterday and to Stig last season.

T10 - Another corner where the brakes act funky. I know I can hit about 83-85 mph but the car often slows down too much or not enough or the trailbraking makes it very loose or not kick in at all.

T11 - The brakes often don't slow me down like I want it too, forcing me to use less pressure. I should be braking at the 2 marker but I'm forced to go between the 2 and 3 and sometimes all the way to the 3 marker.

T11 - You can brake a bit after the 2 marker, just stomp them while you're going straight, and release as you turn into T11.

Is wardez not taking wiifreak's place ? .....maybe CSLARC?....maybe 2 wildcards?

I like how people make up times for me lol.

Just did a few laps and ran a 33.5 and yeah Forced still running 2/6.

Gonna finally get to spend some quality time with the Miata at Laguna tonight. :)

I plan on opening an official practice room when I get home tonight, if there's not already one open.
I might already have one open by whenever that is. :P
BTW, I should be an acceptable backup host now, not that it matters for the season anymore.

You are the target  That 33.5 isnt your best is it? :0 Or you are probably just sharing these lap times with us to give us hope and then on Sunday you just crush it with 32s :D Hmm you evil evil Alien!

Well, what else can I say? After endless laps today, I still can't break 33s with any sort of consistency. I'm pretty much folding up shop and hoping to not wreck myself on Sunday. :ouch:

Oh, and for those wanting lap times, a 1:33.28 is currently the best time atm.

PB is 34.1 after first go, guess mid-high 33's is doable for me. Laguna for 50 laps is more about not driving off the paved stuff then it is hot laps though.
