Haha, I don't race SM. Don't have the $$$ for that "cheap" class racing! LOL! I HAVE instructed in worse rain at a HPDE, though. And if we run those, you can be pretty sure that the SCCA runs in the rain.

I *just* read this great report of a 13 hour SCCA endurance race with spec miatas in the rain @ VIR yesterday... nice timing.

Video not of me, but I do have some rain video from Grattan Raceway. I TQ'd in a pure down pour then exited the track in turn three at 60 mph. Why does it feel like you speed up when you hit wet grass. Lucky for me there was 60 yards of run off space. I'll dig up the video.

I found that doing a simulation race in GT5 helps with preparing for the race. Does anyone else do a race simulation before Sunday's meet? Minus a few screw ups I did, my simulation time was about the same as the race time. ( I did the one pit stop as well)

I actually jumped in there for a little bit this morning before I started working. I ran about 12 laps. For the most part, I was the only one on the track. At one point someone came in, but it definitely wasn't one of us. I'm not sure what he was doing as I could him spinning all over the place on the map. Fortunately he didn't stay long, and he was on the grass each time I passed him.

Not many. just you and anyone else that saw it. Manly it was people outside the series. I was watching F1 P2 so I wasn't really there. I think most of the drivers here are up later in the day. I try to setup rooms from about 7am or so till 11am on any tracks that we have coming up.

BTW who set the 2:08:xxx time there??????

Not me, I was sound asleep. That's 4am California time. On second thought 💡 I did have a dream about racing, so maybe it was me sleep walking (sleep racing? ).

That was me. I was up earlier than expected, so I figured I'd get 10-15 laps of practice in before work. I still need to knock off at least a couple seconds, but I was happy with it considering it was my first run on the track.

Bad news: I'm gonna have to withdrawal from the series. Even when the NFL wasn't in the way, new time constraints have appeared. A shame really, I wanted to race. Weekend series never really work out for me in the end. 👎 I'll probably still be viewing the tread as I like to see updates on this series and how everyone is doing.

You may take me off R16. I probably can't work as a reserve either. Bye guys even though I haven't raced, or even talked much in this thread! Best of luck to all of you.
