No, we'll be running one room. Like I said earlier, those that do not make the feature race can start their own room and race together, but points will not be awarded. Having two rooms last season just didn't work out.

Dudes this is hopefully gonna make for some interesting qualifying scenarios!

Last time it was rare that we'd have more than 16 people qualify toward the end of the series (Except for the Tsukuba race, which was a nice full 16. Lol, biggest race, smallest track)

This time 'round people are gonna feel the pressure to make the races by really hitting their best time in quali.

Nice to see Tenhulzen show interest, hope you like it man.

Well just spent some time on Grand Valley East Reverse, not a track I have much practice on. The first corner and the last corner seem to be the ones were I either gained or lost lots of time.

Ran in the 1:19 range, fastest a 1:19.2xx. I had a laps that had the potential of mid 1:18s, but a few errors kept that from happening

Car is now fully broken in and a joy to drive, can't wait for first race 👍

Ok, time to register I guess. I was waiting until I'd decided which car to run, but I figure I can change before the season starts, so here goes:

RIP_Welsh_Don (GTP_Welsh-Bain) - '89 - Burnt Orange / Deep Blue Pearl

I still like the '04, so just wondering what the cut-off is for making the final decision?

SAMHAIN85 (SAMHAIN85) - '89 - BLACK/BLACK

Funny to see Veloci join the series. I joined a random online lobby awhile back, didnt have a mic, and convinced him and his friends that I was playing from a Best Buy in hawaii and I was hijacking the starbucks internet next door. I dont know how or why I came up with that story but they bought it, hook line and sinker. Him and Jett are good people, looking foward to the new series

And for the people who question why there wont be 2 rooms, Turbo is right, it just didn't work out last season. And on top of that, We had like 60 initial signups last season and it seemed like only 20-22 people tops had interest in racing any specific week. I can guarantee that only a percentage of the people that sign up here will be racing regularly. (including me)

First of many practice videos I've been recording.

This is a battle between me and R1600Turbo @ Clubman:

Thanks for the track switch rt 👍 I couldn't stand clubman :) 5.2 was my best and I couldn't manage any semblance of consistency.

Just wondering, is there going to be 2 qualifying sessions for the practice race or will it be like whoever has the fastest lap in the server before the race?

@Wardez - Are you still planning on putting together an unofficial practice race for this Thursday?

First points race of the season.

I liked it, guess not everyone did. :P

Normal qualifying sessions for the pre-season race.

I'm glad you liked clubman, Turbo. It really was a fun track since it was the first(?) street like stage you put in the series. It's not like the new tracks you put in are any less fun though. It's also just pre-season so no worries.

Now I'm wondering if I'll have an actual quality practice session for grand valley, lol. Someone might have to show me a good line or two to run for qualifers 👍

LOL. You can see my spin out due to the lag spike I had in the beginning of that race.

I see you've tried to run the wide line after the end of the first section like we discussed.

That video just goes to show how close the NA and NB really are in racing conditions on a long high-speed track. I believe the NB has an advantage on the smaller courses like Tsukuba, but it all evens out eventually. Should be some good racing this season. :)

Here's the room settings you all should use when opening practice rooms:
PP restriction: 389
Tire restriction: Sports - Medium
ABS: Driver's discretion
Traction Control: OFF
Active Steering: OFF
Skid Recovery Force: OFF
ASM: OFF
Driving Line: OFF

Grip Reduction of Wet Track/Edge: Real
Damage: Light

Start: Normal start

Race Quality: High

Penalty?
Tire wear?
grid order?
start type?

I liked Clubman too. I was surprised you changed it based on a couple of comments from guys with mics. Grand Valley is fun too - a difficult corner on each end with two drag races between them.

Thanks for posting the video, too. You missed our battle for 3rd and 4th, switching to it just before it and just after it. We had a close, clean fun battle too and each of us made one big mistake in there somewhere.

This description of GVE is kind of why I wanted to limit the amount of tracks with long straightaways. Not just that but also trying to avoid the horrible in-game draft. That's one thing that GT is certainly missing is smaller tracks.

Battle between RT, Wardez and Jett @ Madrid Full

Watch close starting @ 16:23 for a Star Wars pass like no other :)

Lol love the videos wardez. At first I was thinking "hey, someone stole my car colors" then I saw it crash first lap and was like "oh nevermind that's me" :dunce:

I also wish you left Clubman on the list, was alot of fun and I was also on the pace, but it was the first track I've tried so I'm sure the others are also fun.

I guess I should edit my thought on Grand Valley. There are actually three corners that require us to get off the throttle and onto the brakes, not just two. Still an aweful lot of time at foot to the floor.

Is the draft in online racing overstated or understated?
