are the rules for NBs out yet? I just managed to find one on the used cars that I'm leaving untouched for this series . anything thats for going to be for sure allowed on the car ?

When I made that video last night, I had just taken the bungee cords off my pedals so it wasn't as fast as I would normally had liked. Not sure how I posted that time the other day, maybe it was the pedals?

bungee cord off the pedals ? trade secret?

It will have to be the '04 1600 Version. I'll have more info on this tonight.

Makes the pedals on the DFGT stiffer, giving them a more realistic feel. Helps quite a bit. I took mine off because I have to prepare for the GT Academy finals where I will not be able to use the bungee cords, so I have to get used to not having them for the next couple weeks.

I have a Miata '04 1600 in my garage that I don't intend to use. I bought about one of every year Miata available and tested them against your first series rules. At the same HP limit, they are all about the same lap time - very, very close. The '89 from the new car dealer was always a few tenths quicker on the same suspension setup.

Just make sure it's the 1.6 version.

Also, weird how your test came out because Brosif just tested all the cars to the new rules and all the 1.8 cars were way too fast.

At the same HP rating or just with the same parts?

I'm going to do some testing in the next couple days with the NB 1.6 and if it isn't close enough for my liking, we're just going to stick with the '89.

I just added a note in the first post about this. Thanks for bringing it up.
At least now it won't be so much trouble to break the car in. I remember at the start of season 1 they hadn't yet implemented mileage accrual for online play; it was pretty boring running endless laps by myself in practice mode.

When I did this, though, it told me that I had gotten a Lotus Yellow (the cars original colour) paint chip.
It will always give you a copy of the cars original color. That's why you should send paint chips back and forth before you use them (if you plan to use it again in the future). 👍

Also, please remember to use proper grammar when posting in GTPlanet forums. 👍
Maybe it's just me... but based on the horrid typing and the Fast & Furious graphics on what I assume to be his real car (the name is also a big hint) I would guess this guy might not be the best fit for our series.

First off, I didn't know you used that... but man that sucks that you have to get used to the toy pedals again. I've got my bungees set up so good, I couldn't imagine having to go back to what I'm sure feels like zero resistance.

sup rt, what day this series will be held?

I'm shooting to start rolling April 3rd.

Edit: Just realized I may have goofed here. We're going to run the same schedule as the IS-F Series. 👍

Sign ups begin when I get back from Orlando. (25th)
Seriously dude, keep us posted on when you get down there and what you're up to.

I would most likely make the 4 hour trek to check everything out and I'm sure Jav would stop by too as he lives in O-town.

I'll try my best. Unfortunately the "event" is only open to participants, guys even asked if their wives could come and were denied. I'll be bringing my camera for sure, so expect a full wrap-up thread when I get back with lots of pics. 👍

We want video like this RT:

This event just happened a few days ago. It was the finals for what was pretty much the ESL racing category. Some of the world's best ever sim drivers. Really awesome racing in the video. I expect even better in Orlando!

Gregger Huttu won (again) $26,000.
But he's not going to England for the chance to become a racing driver after it! :sly:👍

^^ Awesome stuff Wardez

Yeah I was watching the race streaming live. It was such a ball buster. This was a pretty special event 'cause though these guys have all raced each other before they've hardly ever done side by side racing like that. Interesting how different all the drivers styles and habits change when going from their rooms to a convention floor.

And notice all the socks! Lol, I was wondering about that in GT Academy, if they'd allow people to take their shoes off or not. I wouldn't wanna race with my street shoes xD

I don't have a video camera. :(

Man I hope so. I'm going to take my driving shoes just in case, but I always play with my socks. The DFGT pedals are bad enough with socks, shoes would be a nightmare.

Haha, if it were me I would be barefoot and happy and they couldn't do anything about it!

Man I wish GTA was in Canada! I would put all my free time and effort into it just so I can get better and at least make it to something like this, I would love to be a part of these side by side racing events. Turbo, are you flying down or driving down and is GTA paying for your travel expenses?

Good luck at the academy. I knew you were fast.

And kudos to the new rules. The fixed sports suspension looks more realistic to how I've seen Spec Miata's lean in the corners. I actually think it handles better on the fixed soft spring/damper setup.

I hope I can make the race times for the second season. And if not, at least your practice nights are really fun too.
