So you're saying that if you were stuck in the non-superstar room with me, you wouldn't race?

:(

Just a reminder to everyone if they start up a practice room, if you can make it fixed host. If you have to leave, someone else can start up another room. That way we don't have random strangers taking over the FM rooms and making them their own. Case in point, the room that spdu4ea and I just left, the guy instantly turned on TCS and ruined the whole thing.

Oh my bad.

Wait.. but someone could still start a new room when that happens. Am I missing something. Just came back from a few parties, so I very well could be.

I'm just saying I don't want an FMSC room left open where a random person can do whatever they please with it. This guys just turned on ALL the aids. Completely against what any of us are for. Basically if we leave it on fixed host, if the host has to leave then after that room is closed down, someone else can open a new room.

Edit: @ spdu4ea, not your fault you didn't know. Just giving everyone a heads up.

damn, didnt break my engine before the qualy, ive been 1 second faster than my qualy time. anyway gonna be fun. who will host the B Room?

Just kick randoms before they get a chance to load.

Not saying that, just since room B you cant get points from that race and the only real prize is first which lets you be in room A next week, it will turn into a brawl for first. Last week Room A was pretty aggressive but a fair good race but the first thing coming from room B was, "that was a horrible race everyone just slammed into each other the whole race." I dont really wanna be a part of a demo derby race room.

Oh did i just make it......whew...... I thought i would be out for another one but i am happy! :dopey:

I really want to thank all of you for helping me out these last couple days to bring my times down. I am officially running low 103's to mid 102s, wished i had time to practice yesterday. BEST of luck to everyone in group B hopefully no demolition by what i just read!

The host left that room and Squeaks took over. I had him boot everyone and shut it down which I believe he did. Yay.

Damn, was out with my buddies all day today, and forgot to qualify yesterday. I guess I'll sit this one out guys ;p Sorry Jett D:

I hear you know R1600. Like I said, I am probably missing something here. Sorry for drinking and posting.

But, even in this state, I am thankful for your hosting of this series. A lot of time spent setting it up, and sitting around waiting for us to all qualify. Thanks man.

Drunk man out.

Not like I have anything else to do normally.

Yeah, except when you get to go to Orlando to compete against the fastest drivers in the US at GT5. And when you will be on the Speed Channel while learning to drive real cars in racing situations in the UK. I am really looking forward to getting to watch this on television.

But seriously, you are always so humble.. Yet ridiculously fast. Thanks for racing with us, and I am bummed your bro is no longer in the series. I hope to get to meet you both some time in person. I hope it to be at a race event, that you will be driving at, because you won the GT Academy. Really a pleasure to race with you always.

Eh. Well, I should probably get used to it, seeing as how I lack the talent to make the A-team.

That is unless I win tomorrow, which I plan on doing.

The B room last week was quite clean really. Whoever said that is definitely over reacting. The bad thing was someone lag spiked at turn one and caused a mess, but that couldn't be helped.

And here we go...

Really?:grumpy:The b main should also have a points system in place racing for 1 spot turns this into a demo derby.Hopefully racers in the b will want to race instead of just beaing and banging. My b main bump up idea bit me in the butt.:yuck:6 guys in the b have faster times than b bump.

Having announced the results already, and there being two full rooms, I'm not sure I'm going to do another qualifying room. I hate to leave someone out but kind of going to have to stick to the schedule ya know?

Yea no doubt turbo. No big deal dude. You all will see me in room one next week!!!!!!! GGGGRRRRRRrrrrr.....:sly:

Edit: Graham dude, you are a lucky dog this week man.

^^Graham just didn't practice much this week.

So it seems that my quick lap was indeed dirty :(
Not 100% sure yet I'll be home in time for the race...

Wow, came across this room running last night and was racing with some of the names I see here. GREAT RACE SERIES IDEA! The car is super fun and the racing was clean.

What would have to do to get into this more?

You're a day late to get into today's race, but I'm sure you could get registered and set up to go by next week. Read the first post, and PM R1600Turbo if something doesn't make sense. 👍

I am glad you find the racing in this series fun. That is why we are all here! If you want to get more involved and would like to race with us just check out the first page of the thread. All the information you need is summarized for easy reading.

Cheers!

Edit: ... oh Christmas tree, oh Christmas tree.

I don't think that's very fair. If there are other people that want to qualify they should have their chance too; if they run a faster lap than some then everyone gets bumped down. I also think it's especially unfair if you don't give registered drivers a chance to qualify when you gave a Room A spot to someone who didn't even register until AFTER you posted his qualify time.

Graham just didn't practice much this week.
I really didn't. I figured I wasn't going to get anywhere near the top times with the NB (my very best lap still would have only landed me 14th or 15th) and since I already had a Room A spot there was no point in killing myself all week trying to cut 10ths off here and there.

Yeah, I feel for you especially since the A-B cutoff was only 0.003s

Proposal: Why not use the existing point system for B and multiply the A-room points by 10?

A Room:
01) 180 points
02) 160 points
03) 150 points
04) 140 points
05) 130 points
06) 120 points
07) 110 points
08) 100 points
09) 90 points
10) 80 points
11) 70 points
12) 60 points
13) 50 points
14) 40 points
15) 30 points
16) 20 points

B-room:
01) 18 points
02) 16 points
03) 15 points
04) 14 points
05) 13 points
06) 12 points
07) 11 points
08) 10 points
09) 9 points
10) 8 points
11) 7 points
12) 6 points
13) 5 points
14) 4 points
15) 3 points
16) 2 points

Either way, since major attrition has yet to set in, we might as well keep our own unofficial points system for B. For me personally, since I never even had a 1:01.9x and 10 people essentially managed that within 3 laps (and a few notables either didn't qualify or under performed), I probably don't even belong in the A-room.

The racing can still be intense in the B-room though (twice last night Entroper and I had an incredible side by side battle through the entire Autumn Ring maze)...

Don't tell anyone I said this, but I honestly thing this whole GT Academy competition isn't set up right. They're looking for someone to compete in wheel to wheel racing as a pro, and they start the competition off with time trials? Just doesn't seem like the right way to go about it. There are quite a few of you guys I race with that might not be as good time-trialers, but are really fast in these online races.

Can I get your autograph when you become a real race car driver?

Sure, when being the key word.

Just curious, does Room B go up at the same time as Room A?

I figured that's the way it would go down...

It did last week, but I don't even think anyone has volunteered to run it this week.

Actually, nobody has. MULE? :sly:
