I don't think that's very fair. If there are other people that want to qualify they should have their chance too; if they run a faster lap than some then everyone gets bumped down. I also think it's especially unfair if you don't give registered drivers a chance to qualify when you gave a Room A spot to someone who didn't even register until AFTER you posted his qualify time.

I really didn't. I figured I wasn't going to get anywhere near the top times with the NB (my very best lap still would have only landed me 14th or 15th) and since I already had a Room A spot there was no point in killing myself all week trying to cut 10ths off here and there.

BK, the person you quoted, inquired with the spec miata room and explained the situation with us. Put simply, he heard about the series, couldn't register until GTplanet approved of his first post, and thus went to the qualifying session with us and qualified in a legitimate manner. He made the qualifying session as required so I think it's fair.

I would but my connection probably couldn't handle 16 people as fixed host

Races are OK to use a non-fixed host status. You just have to make sure the last FMSC competitor makes all the random's leave (or boots them) then leave the room ASAP to it'll close completely.

Oh ok... Yeah, sometimes they do take a while to approve new members and that can be annoying. And sure it's fair that he qualified, it's just not fair to not give others a chance to qualify. I think everyone who wants a shot should be given one.

And I agree. ButI have the qualifying rooms scheduled at a certain time for a reason. If you know before hand you can't make those times, then PM me and we can work something out. But coming in a couple hours after the room has closed is a bit too late I'm afraid.

But turbo does give people a chance. He clearly states that if you can't make a session, PM him. It's the responsibility of the competitor to give notice if they can't make it and, from what I've read, people just got caught up and the quals slipped their minds.

EDIT: turbo beat me to it by 1 min. lol

:idea:Instead of calling it a b room just combine all 32 qualify. You can adjust points as such 32 for winner 31 for second and so on.This might make b room a better race and keep some fast racers in the mix.I just think we all take this a little serious b room deserves points as well .With close to 50 entries turbo you need to revise the points system imo.It only makes sense to expand.

Not to be crude, but the reason things are the way they are is because of what we learned in Season 1. Turbo never intended for there to be a Group B during Season 2 and has stated, multiple times, that any organization of a race for drivers who qualify outside the quick 16 would need to be handled by someone other than him as it would not be an official part of the points championship. He has already made one accommodation by offering a provisional grid position in next week's feature race to the winner of the "Group B" race.

I tried two rooms last season and it didn't work out. B-Room was not my idea this season. My idea was to take the top 16 qualifiers for the race and that's it. Then others decided they wanted to create another room, and I said thats fine but it won't count for anything. I'm actually being nice by including a driver from the B-Room in the A-Room, hence why Graham made it into the main show. I had no plans for a B-Room in the first place.

Edit: Tree'd by Brosif. :P

It just seems to be growing thought i would add some ideas.I will keep them to myself sorry.

Ideas are great, it's just that we've been over this B-Room thing many times before. Unfortunately the game only allows 16 people to race at one time, so you have to draw the line somewhere.

I personally like the current setup (A and B rooms). It gives me the chance to practice with some of the best drivers on GT5, and then take that into a race with people at my same level. It also gives a me goal of trying to make it into a the main event (and get slaughtered :P). The lack of points really isn't that big of an issue for me.

I love the specs for this series, and I guess I'm just glad I actually get to race lol

Just a warning to b room if i get slamed around this week i will be driving backwards since b room has nothing to do with the series.:grumpy:

Your avatar says it all.

Don't be sorry, ideas are appreciated. One of the reasons for the 16 position points structure is because of the series' attrition rate experienced during Season 1. We had a flurry of participation in the first few races of Season 1 but by the end we were lucky to fill one room.

Turbo had arranged a 32 position points structure during Season 1 and, to be honest, I think it was probably a pain the a$$ to administer because of the constant no-shows and new qualifiers each race.

I think this is proper attitude to have.

Please don't ruin the B race for everyone because someone hits you.

I can start the B room tonight, I am ok with that, non fixed host means that if someone with a faster connection joins they become host? Not sure about my speed for hosting really, but if no one else volunteers...

I was just being defensive for those that might not be able to make Fri or Sat qualifying and that it isn't fair to cancel Sunday if that's the only time people can make a quali run. But if you're still willing to take peoples laps on a case by case basis over PM then it's still fair for everyone so that's great. 👍 Just want everyone to have their chance. :)

Where is STIG today? He usually starts practice rooms and seems to have a good connection so I figured he could be a good candidate to host the second room.

That would be a major d*ck move and not in the spirit of this series at all. 👎

yeah, im also with xamillion, with the type of car and the crazy draft i look this series more for fun than to be first, i always laugh when we practice, so points arent really necessary.

Then any host of B room? ill do it but the speed in mexico isnt to fast (5mb for me) n is the Clasico de Clasicos Chivas de Guadalajara contra las Aguilas del America!!!!!!!.

PD Arriba las CHIVAS!

Just saying last week got punted while i was running ing second place, landed me in the gravel. It got blamed on some lag spike bs.Don't worry dude i wouldn't drive backwards. All this spirit' holly' jolly' love' peice, and your so great crap is making me sick. :drool:Racers have a set where I am from.:irked:The b is not part of the series man lol

Yeah we all know gravy, trust me. I had to battle the same idiot for half of my race also, but I haven't said a word about it since. There was still plenty decent racing to be had mid-pack, there was no reason for you to ragequit the way you did.

Honestly, I'd scrap the whole "room B" thing altogether. Couldn't make it into A - tough luck, practice more next time. Too late now I guess. Personally I'll probably make it to room B, but if I get punted/pushed off track and not let back in front of the offender - I'll leave. Running against the traffic will affect more people than the one I might have a score to settle with.

And keep everybody not good enough from racing altogether? No thanks.

I intend on running aggressive, but clean. I wont ram you unless you ram me first.

Actually, nobody has. MULE?

Yeah, I can host it. No problem. And if I drop, there'll be someone else to start the race like Wiifreak yesterday

Actually, that's how this series IS run. Room B used to be official and part of the points structure during season 1 but it just got messy, so now there really isn't an official room B. It's just there for those of us who don't make it into A to at least have our own race so we don't miss out on the fun of this series completely. 👍
