I don't think that's very fair. If there are other people that want to qualify they should have their chance too; if they run a faster lap than some then everyone gets bumped down. I also think it's especially unfair if you don't give registered drivers a chance to qualify when you gave a Room A spot to someone who didn't even register until AFTER you posted his qualify time.
I really didn't. I figured I wasn't going to get anywhere near the top times with the NB (my very best lap still would have only landed me 14th or 15th) and since I already had a Room A spot there was no point in killing myself all week trying to cut 10ths off here and there.
BK, the person you quoted, inquired with the spec miata room and explained the situation with us. Put simply, he heard about the series, couldn't register until GTplanet approved of his first post, and thus went to the qualifying session with us and qualified in a legitimate manner. He made the qualifying session as required so I think it's fair.
