We can test it for this weekend's race, and if it works ok then we'll keep it. I'll make the changes to the first post here shortly.

Edit: First post updated.

my vote is for false starts... I do it anyway out of habit and enjoy the added realism.

I would like to register for the GT Class. :)

MuoNiuLa (GTP_MuoNiuLa) - Combination A Artvin Red Mica / Brilliant Black

Since I am registering at the last minute for this, I won't be participating for the first GT race this week. I will only be doing the Spec race this weekend. I need time to tune and break in my GT car.

I have to watch a qualifying run tonight for someone that won't be able to make either qualifying room this weekend. If anyone feels confident enough and wants to sneak their qualifying run in early, they can do so tonight.

I don't completely understand how they work or the best way to get a launch out of them. It says you have to apply your brakes (which of course is easy enough to do since I left-foot it all the time) but I generally only hold the brake down about 25% so I can get off of it quicker... is this good or bad? I can't tell. I almost feel like you still get a slight penalty for anything other than 100% brake.

Yeah, I think we should give false starts a try. It is a little boring when everyone takes off at exactly the same speed. It'll certainly make turn 1 more interesting at the `ring. :D

EDIT: Room closed.

Lol.. More interesting, or more of a pileup. It might get a bit messy with people entering turn 1 at all different speeds.. I would lean toward the less carnage side, but I think most of us can avoid the temptation to punt.

I am going home for lunch and plan on running some practice laps with the GT car. High 2:09.XXX lap times are so close. I should probably just take a nap seeing as I stayed up until 2:00 AM with you dudes last night but oh well.

:crazy::scared: 2'09's!! Tell me this is in practice, not in an online lounge? I've managed a 2'09.976 in practice whilst breaking the car in (was at 278hp at time), but not really close to that in my lounge. 2'10.710 best online so far, but there's maybe a bit more than that with a really good lap for me, however, not getting much time to get ready with both cars, :indiff:

False starts are fine by me, I just hope no-one near the front jumps the start and causes a pile up on the grid!! :nervous: Fingers crossed :)

False starts are fine as long as someone doesn't completely blow it
There's lots of room at GP/F at the start; just be ready to crank the wheel if the guy in front of you blows the start and you nail it!

Ran a few laps in the practice room tonight in both cars. GT is down to a 2'10.6, and the Spec is down to 2'30.6. Not sure where I'm losing the 6 tenths on the Spec car against you fast guys. At least I can blame tuning for the missing time on the GT

I didn't stick around long though, as people were playing building blocks with the barriers on the track, and pretty much every movable item on the track had been moved :grumpy:

I got the Spec car to a 2:29.9xx a couple times, but that's going to be on a very rare occasion I believe. I've been running consistent mid-2:30's.

Sounds like I'm about half a second off. Consistently run around 2'31 flat, with a best of 2'30.6.
Am I at least still faster than you in the GT? :P

I've run a best of 2:10.3xx but consistent laps (saving tires) are in the 2:11.5xx to 2:12.5xx range.

👍👍👍👍

Tire saving efforts are going to be top priority for the GT race. I did some test runs and aggressive, tail-happy driving dramatically shortens the life span of the shoes.

Hurray, a picture!

Hey... that looks strangely like my Spec car... but cooler 👍

Check the E-mail I send you Bro.

Non-Issue; even without the false starting not everyone is entering turn 1 with draft speed.
And I've noticed launching at optimum rpm not bricking it against the rev limiter causes me to get a jump off people on the start anyway.

edit... we also have 2 different cars on the grid.
so, there's already lots of variables in play; 1 more isn't going to suddenly cause carnage.

Jackie Moon: "Alright, tell everybody, what's your name?"
Dukes: "Dukes."
Jackie Moon: "Alright, Dukes! Dukes, where are you from?"
Dukes: "Flint, Michigan and I never missed a game! Whoo!"
Jackie Moon: "Dukes is homegrown. I think you're on a little somethin' that's homegrown maybe, huh?"
Dukes: "Huh-huh-huh."

What's the pace on you fast guys? I have no time to practice so I'm gonna have to devote all my effort to catch up to yall tomorrow morning. lol

2:30's?

Did any of you guys get an e-mail today from Sony thanking you for competing in GT Academy? (This question is obviously directed at those who participated in GT Academy.)

I just got one and it came with codes for four "exclusive" GT Academy XMB themes and a GT Academy racing suit for Playstation Home (probably a digital replica of the suit Turbo is going to get at Silverstone :)).

I wonder what ever happened to the 64 Collector's Edition GT5s that weren't awarded after the miserable failure known as Round 2.
