Im just wondering why my name is not on the spec miata list even though I participated at GVE and CRI.

snowylilmonster(squeaks121)
'89 sunfire red/(cant remember the wheel color, like a light yellow/gold color)

I finally got around to building up a GT car, here is my info for the GT series.

Dr Wankel (ScepTer_) - RX8 Yellow / Olympic Gold

My phone is so old it says cingular

Anyone up for longer GT races?

I think the GT races are of a good length. Their current duration should allow me to get to bed at my usual bedtime of midnight.

I think the length of the GT races looks good. Any longer and we'll be doing at least 2 pit stops, at least the way I've been driving I'd have to

I know what you mean. The NC really eats up the Racing Hards if you push the car to its limit. If you back it down a tick it seems to really save the tires. Tire management is going to prove to be a big part of the GT races as the reduction in grip level is pretty substantial when the tires begin to wear, at least compared to the NA. :P

Yup, keep adding power with no downforce, and you get some nasty tire wear. I'd be willing to bet that your suspension setup will play a significant role in the GT class. I already wish I could tweak the NA to get the rear tires working more, since it starts to really understeer after several laps.

Can you add the front lip to the GT car? And roughly howmuch HP is it making?

No, you cannot add anything that is not listed in the allowable mods graphic on the first page.

The GT car will make 280HP once it is fully broken in.

Ok just wondering, and last night I was only making 260 HP, but the car is brand new.

I am going home for lunch and plan on running some practice laps with the GT car. High 2:09.XXX lap times are so close. I should probably just take a nap seeing as I stayed up until 2:00 AM with you dudes last night but oh well.

At this point I don't really care about fast laps anymore. After thinking about it last night, fast laps in that car just wears tires quickly. I'm going to try and even out the tune a bit tonight then just leave it for the race.

Until I get this lag issue resolved, all the glory I get is from my qualifying efforts as each race just becomes more and more frustrating.

My company is sending me to Dallas the last week of April for training; they waited too long to book airfare so all the good flights got chewed up by Easter travelers and I got suck with flights so crappy I even have to spend an unnecessary extra day in Texas. >:E
So my choices are:
1. miss 2 races :(
2. check my ps3 and wheel so I can race from the hotel

I'm leaning toward option 2... anyone ever hit PSN from hotel internet?

this will be interesting.

Hard to say, depends on if it's a hard wired connection or wireless. I've never played off hotel internet, so really can't say.

Hotel has free wifi; I'm just afraid I'll lug my crap down there and end up on a NAT that doesn't play nice with PSN.

My internet woes were cut down after I went from wireless to wired for the race on sunday. Something to think about.

Much preferred over rolling. Rolling starts spread the field out too much.

Actually, I worded that wrong. What I meant to ask was everyone's opinion on false? starts. IE hold the break until you're allowed to go...

I'm just trying to think of things to make the series more interesting. I know most of us here wouldn't mind a little extra realism right?

I always wondered why we didn't use the false start system. I don't have a preference for or against but it does add another element so it could be a good thing.

After practicing for a qualifier for another series, I realized something. As good as the Miatas are for learning lines, they do horrible things to your throttle control.

I just don't use it 'cause it seems to cause those long "black screens of death" more often that without it.

But if it works good enough then I'm all for it. I love getting a good start all on my own.
