For Those Who Don't Know How to Do the Glitch In GT5

It's perfectly understandable that people are exploiting this, i wouldn't want my worst enemy to have to go through the grinding that i went through to get to lvl30 to get the Vettel challenge open.
PD can blame themselves, lvl system is what is ruining it for everyone.

Not to mention the fact that you can't sell the race cars that you earn or buy and instead have to grind Indy billion times in order to get a classic racecar.

All my friends who ask me can freely dupe my X2010

A lot of people in this thread truly have a comical sense of moral outrage that I just fail to understand.

- I don't care about GT Life.
- I don't care about the whole 'trading' schemes and valuation scales people have cooked up.
- I don't care about 'impressing' other people by showing up and bragging about what cars I have.
- I don't care what people think of my profile.
- I don't care about what other cars people have. A dozen guys could show up in X1s and it means nothing more to me than a butterfly flapping it's wings on the other side of the planet.
- I get no sense of accomplishment from grinding away for hours at a time, aside from the fact that I'm married, with a family and don't have the time for it.
- Grinding away against a bunch of hapless and useless AI doesn't make ANYBODY a better driver IMO.

What I care about is having clean, fair races online with a group of other fair racers. I've glitched and gifted cars so that we can race on equal footing. I could care less and would have preferred if all the cars were siimply ulocked from the beginning.

Everytime I see you guys chomping at the bit and spewing moral outrage it just cracks me up. I mean really--I think it's funny. Truly, it's beyond ridiculous. Cheating, IMO, is taking a car online in a lobby full of similar cars with an unfair advantage. Glitching to me is not cheating because I have no goals such as "reaching X level" or finishing X event. The offline is of no interest to me. I mean really, I don't even want the stupid X1 because I don't think it will make a very good car for competitive online racing. My only goal is racing online and doing it in a fair way and having the cars my friends and I need to do it. I rarely, if ever, even stick my nose in public lobbies. Through years of playing various racing games on the PS3, I have about 70~80 clean racers on my PS3 friend list and they're the ones I spend time with.

But if all of this makes me a 'cheater', well, so be it. Sorry to say but the outrageous comments here just make me laugh.

screw you basement nerds so called video game purists telling us regular folk to do it the "right way" there is no right way, there are many different ways because we are many different people.

and above all IT"S A VIDEO GAME !!! we normal people got busy lives to lead, we got jobs, we got families, barely any time to enjoy this game. We dont have time to grind the 24 hour endurance race something like 5 or more times to get to level 40....

like someone else said it up above, it's PD's fault for making the game ridiculously ridiculous in some aspects as far as time consumption and various other factors.... it's as if when they created the game they thought only dudes with no jobs living in their parents basement will play this game. And the way the game is set up right now, those are exactly the types of people this game is made for. But the reality is the rest of us who aren't hardcore gamers want to enjoy the game too, and this exploit is one of the ways we can do just that.

If I had a lot of spare time on my hands I wouldn't complain about a single thing in this game, unfortunately I lead a real life...

thank you OP for the heads up

Defending a glitch is like defending someone's lost cause. No matter what you say, you're still wrong.

There's no "I'm doing it because I want all the cars NOW.".
There's no "If people B-Spec grind, then why can't I abuse dupes and birthdays?".
There's no "How does it affect your life?"

... Let me put it straight. Even the own title of this thread says it's a glitch. Abusing a glitch, in any game, is subject to a ban (go play FPS's, you'll understand). You're lucky we're talking about GT here.

I said before that it doesn't affect me. Well I thought about it again, and actually it indeed affects me. Let's suppose I go play online, I'll see an incredible amount of kids using a X2010 that got it without doing the Red Bull Challenge, driving all around the place and hitting me every single time, therefore affecting my end results (and yes, it did happen), because they AREN'T supposed to have the X2010.

And while people are talking about fairness, what if I tell you that you're waiting in line for something. And then you see someone cutting the whole line and gets served first (referring to the people that can't wait to have their own cars). What are you gonna say? Pretend that it's fair?

Just play the game like you're supposed to, like everyone else (well, actually, everyone on these forums seem to be defending these exploits, which reflects to what the GT community has come down to). Even B-Spec grinding is acceptable because you need to do that in order to actually level up.

And don't come say that it's PD's fault. When you're cheating, you know what you're doing.

PS: I'm not trying to change the way people should play. I believe I need to repeat it again: I'm just expressing my opinion.

Well just because they ban it doesn't make it wrong. If someone were to be banned for the exploit, the one who banned was just being dumb. It's the same as saying people with green skin go to jail for using this water fountain, only it's a game so it's less serious.

You went into a race room with no rules unprepared. Your fault. Why aren't they supposed to have the X1? Were there no glitch, a good friend could have just given his X1 to someone else to borrow.

You chose to stand in line when there was an infinite pile of stuff to your left. You are at fault. I was smart enough to not wait in line.

Just play the game like you're supposed to,

All well and good, but the mentality of the people who are against things like this probably isn't good for society. I'd like to see this mentality removed.

There is a difference between FPS glitching and glitching in GT. I have used glitches in off line mode on FPS, guess what. Still haven't been banned. However it is another to blatantly go online and use a glitch to obliterate everyone on the server. I remember a glitch from BF1942, on Omaha Beach, in one of the bunkers you could actually glitch through the floor and basically shoot through the walls and decimate everyone, and nobody could kill you.

If someone was to find a glitch that they could cut through the track and reduce their distance traveled on the circuit in half, that to me is a more ban worthy offense than this.

The go to the servers that have restrictions set in place. Using intelligence sometimes is a benefit to your own well being.

Let them ruin their game then. I'm still having fun, no glitchers have magically appeared on my offline game and ruined my race or "duped" cars that I "earned".

If someone figures out how to circumvent to restrictions to a race online, you know what, that guy should deserve to be banned. That is definitely a whole new ball game, compared to what these dupers are doing.

AlexDug your argument falls apart because PD has added features that allow kids to get the X2010 without having won it and without cheating or glitching or any other negative term you wish to apply.

There is nothing stopping anyone giving away a X2010 to a kid the normal way and if you jump in an online race against a bunch of guys who ram you in their X2010's how do you know if they won it, were given it by a friend or if their friend duplicated it?

Well just because they ban it doesn't make it wrong. If someone were to be banned for the exploit, the one who banned was just being dumb. It's the same as saying people with green skin go to jail for using this water fountain, only it's a game so it's less serious.

So basically you're saying that the ones that ban cheaters are the ones dumb? I think that made my day

You went into a race room with no rules unprepared. Your fault. Why aren't they supposed to have the X1? Were there no glitch, a good friend could have just given his X1 to someone else to borrow.

Borrowing isn't something I'm against. As long as there's no duping behind it. I don't see anywhere in my post where I made such a statement.

And for your information, I won the X2010 by myself and used it. There's no way I can dodge 11 idiots in one race.

You chose to stand in line when there was an infinite pile of stuff to your left. You are at fault. I was smart enough to not wait in line.

You're misinterpreting what I'm saying here. The "pile of stuff" is in front in this situation. Cutting the line and saying you acted smart is just plain funny.

I am. There is no right way.

PSN Agreement, section 2.

So what if some "kid" dupes the X2010, then (heaven forbid) comes online against you, the Racing God? Either -

1. You will wipe the floor with the "kid". There is a chance that he won't be as good as you (nothing to do with duping mind you). But there is also a chance...

2. He will wipe the floor with you. Duping and low amounts of skill are not mutually exclusive.

No matter how someone gets a car, if they are a better driver (all other things being equal), they will still beat you.

Anyone who opposes people getting cars that weren't "earnt" most likely as a lot of free time (allowing them to actually play the grind fest), average skills and is worried sick that more people will get the same cars as him for one reason - he will be exposed. More racers means lower chance of him winning.

At least you have the credit to support your arguments with examples. But making comments on my intelligence (which is unknown to you) just strengthens my belief.

And I don't feel like arguing on this, I mean, it's the holidays. I understand you guys' point. It's your game. You do what you want with it. Hope for you guys PD doesn't come back at you.

So basically you're saying that the ones that ban cheaters are the ones dumb? I think that made my day
No, the dumb ones are the ones calling this cheating.

Borrowing isn't something I'm against. As long as there's no duping behind it. I don't see anywhere in my post where I made such a statement.

And for your information, I won the X2010 by myself and used it. There's no way I can dodge 11 idiots in one race.
Then everything is fine. You faced bad drivers. Did they dupe? Who knows. Would duping remove or reduce the number of bad drivers? No.

You're misinterpreting what I'm saying here. The "pile of stuff" is in front in this situation. Cutting the line and saying you acted smart is just plain funny.
No, the stuff is not in front of the line. You don't have to bother with the line at all. The only reason someone is in line is because they chose to be there. You could dupe. You chose not to.

False info? Never violated.

I think the funniest thing is everybody getting all riled up over a $60 video game. I mean I know there are hardcore GT fans out there, but jeez, it's still a VIDEO GAME. It's not like they're pulling a Madoff and getting rich in the process....

Some people should really relax about this whole "cheating" thing. For everyone bitching about this, please tell me with a straight face that you have NEVER in your life abused some sort of loop hole in the system.

Exorcet, what you don't seem to get is that you always have to tweak my words to provide counter-argues. You said yourself (and I quote): "If someone were to be banned for the exploit, the one who banned was just being dumb.". I just restated what you said. I'm not one of them who can ban someone, therefore not making me part of the people you qualify "dumb". And let me remind you, I haven't made a personal comment concerning you, unlike you, whom felt concerned from my first post, which is why you came to argue. Ah well, call me dumb because I think this is cheating, I could care less.

Concerning my famous "line" situation, let me remind you that you aren't the one who elaborated the concept. Therefore making adjustments to it in order to provide an argument is once again misinterpreting, since you should deal with what I provided.

And the PSN Agreement is halfway down the page, just to let you know. That's a way of playing GT, since you asked for one.

I wont lie i did the birthday thing like 10 times and got 10 7k dollar cars. This seems like way to much, i think ill stick to playing the game. Cool glitch though.

Exorcet, what you don't seem to get is that you always have to tweak my words to provide counter-argues.
No.

Good I wasn't calling you dumb. I was calling the people who would ban someone for exploiting GT5 dumb. Cheating is bad and it should be punished. Duping cars is not cheating, so brining up cheating is pointless.

And let me remind you, I haven't made a personal comment concerning you, unlike you, whom felt concerned from my first post, which is why you came to argue. Ah well, call me dumb because I think this is cheating, I could care less.
OK. You must have misread everything.

How should I deal with what you provided? I'm saying that what you provided isn't applicable. Jumping a line is basically cheating. Duping cars isn't. So your example doesn't make sense.

And, what am I doing that goes against this?

That section defines cheating, since it doesn't define the process this thread describes as cheating we have to assume that you just argued the process in this thread is the right way.

I understand your argument, but this link was provided because Exorcet asked for a way of playing GT, so I gave him one. It wasn't to actually confirm that what you guys are doing is cheating, because there's nothing that tells what you guys are doing is cheating. I might be wrong after all, but like I said, this just my own personal opinion.

And, what am I doing that goes against this?

I never said that you were doing something against these rules. Again, let me quote you: "I am. There is no right way." If you believe that there's no right way to play GT, well I just gave you one.

You can't just change what you're arguing about. So yes, you are tweaking what I am saying.

I'm not changing anything.

If your link was a reply to that line you quoted, it was pointless. My quoted line was not a question. And your link contains no answer.

I am playing the game the right way, because there is no wrong way to play it. However I get cars and money is legit.

Oh my God.

You said there's no right way to play a game. I just wanted to show you that this is a wrong thought. Question or not, saying something that you think is true isn't always 100% true.

And if PD says that this isn't cheating, then I'll accept that I was wrong. This is just my opinion man.

Oh my God.

You said there's no right way to play a game. I just wanted to show you that this is a wrong thought.

You did not succeed. GT Mode is single player. A player can do anything he/she wants in the game.

Players can cheat online by ramming/short cutting, but that's not the subject of this thread. If you were referring to that, which is outside the discussion, what was the point?

Question or not, saying something that you think is true isn't always 100% true.

Very true.

Do you really believe people duping X2010's do it just to use them in single player, or to show off in front of themselves?

This is where online play gets in the subject.

And thanks for agreeing with my argue, I do believe it is true. :)

have you ever heard of online HP and weight restrictions?

No, but using duped cars online isn't cheating either.

There are only two ways to cheat in GT5:

Shortcuts online
Ramming online

Anything else is fair game.

Before someone asks, how is it fair to let people bring the X1 online when others may not have it?

A - Race regulations. The X1 will never win a race with a 1400 hp restriction. If you run a race without restrictions, I don't know why you bothered.

B - You could get the X1 as well. Go dupe it.

I don't think there is a right or wrong way to play a game, offline, it's all in the eye of the beholder. If you are messing around on offline or single player mode, more power to you. Everyone finds fun in different ways.

I think when you start playing on-line things change a bit. At least in the old days of LAN and split screen you could punch your friend if he was cheating or glitching, now it's a little harder to stop people from doing that. They are no longer within walking distance.

I didn't mean to insult you when I stated you use your intelligence. I may have worded that way to you, but I'm assuming you are smart enough to realize that you can find fair racers online and have a good time. Whether or not you didn't realize or too lazy I don't know and I don't really care. :)

At least PD created restrictions for race lobbies. You may run into bumpers and the like but I'm sure almost all the racers on GTP will give you a clean and fair race.

Unlike in COD or whatever else, it seemed like it was hit or miss and there was no way of knowing when going into matchmaking whether somebody was a glitcher or not. You can avoid that in GT5.

Do you have to back up your whole ps3? or do u just go to game utility, and copy your gt5 logo thing to a usb stick? I thought that might not work...

if its the latter then it makes it much simpler!

Haven't read the whole thread yet, but just wanted to respond to this. YES, you can just go to the Saved Game Data Utility and copy your info to a USB stick.

Well, this is what I call an intelligent reply. And I fully understand your point of view. Like I said, I might be wrong, probably didn't search my rooms well enough, but I just wanted to have fun online with no restrictions. However, I could hardly believe so many people got gifted a X2010 from someone who actually did it. Done some researches on these forums and I found out about car duping. This is why I started talking about this in a very negative opinion.

No, but using duped cars online isn't cheating either.

Well, we're talking about personal opinions here, and I understand what you mean. Personally, using duped car online is cheating, but that's my own personal opinion. You don't think so, that's fine, I respect that.

Like I said before, I already have the X2010, but I just wanted to have fun in an unrestricted room. To understand why I came here telling what I think of this glitch, just read my explanation in my other quote right above.

Anyway, in no way I want to change what someone thinks is right. We don't all have the same thoughts. I just thought I had my word on that.
