Wasnt that 10speed being considered for the Mustang?

And if this is the near production GT  , what's the Vision GT going to look like? I like it!

Plus, Ford need to bring back the round tailights. Reintroducing the Falcon of old and future models with those single round tailights will strengthen Ford's brand design, I think.

It sounds cool and all but it's not a V8. Doesn't give me that thrill. A lot of people are saying that.

Maybe it'll give the same thrills if (and when) you drive it? I dunno, it won't be quite the same feeling sure, but it should perform similarly or even better. It's a pity it's not a V8, and I understand why you (and many others) would feel somewhat dissapointed by that fact. But at least it has more or less the same amount of power. Unfortunately, the future may not be kind to V8s (emission laws-wise), and that's probably why Ford didn't consider them an option for the car.

Oh I know I would have a blast in it, but the sound just makes it that more thrilling, at least for me. That's why I prefer muscle cars with V8s over the original inline 6's.

Well I'm not a V8 fanatic so that sound is just fine with me, but purists just can't grasp the future I guess. :P
Seems a lot of people can't. Fords just getting ahead of the curve.

Well, hopefully the V8s that still roam the roads can continue to provide those with ears with the privilege of hearing the legendary soundtrack that made them famous.

It was eventually going to happen regardless, so instead of waiting until the final moment, Ford was just honest and showed what they had in mind. Will it anger some fans? Sure, it will. But whether they like or not, it will become a reality.

Pistonheads (briefly) spoke to Raj Nair, Ford's vice president of Global Development, as to why the GT does not have a V8 here.

The truth is, it will mainly anger people who can't afford one anyway.

Envy, one of the most misused ways of expression in history. Go figure. If only those people could learn...

Also, talk a bright future on that picture. All those guns, aimed at the perfomance market... :drool:Also, judging by your new avatar, you have taken a liking to that Raptor.

Basically Ford now makes a car for everyone.

Something cheap and fun: Fiesta.
But... you have a family: Focus.
Sports cars are more your thing: Mustang.
But... You live on a farm: Raptor.
Speed is the only reason you get up in the morning: GT

All they need now is performance saloon, and something 4WD that isn't a pick-up.

I'd say that the most likely options for that would be:

A) Whichever sedan Ford has (Mondeo? Falcon? Taurus) as a sports version;

B) The future Focus RS.

At this point, it wouldn't surprise me if they did something with the Fusion.

A Mondeo/Fusion ST would definitely be on the cards, we've had a few of those before. The best being this one imho

Police used to use this a lot at one point as the pursuit cars

Except for a large Sedan I so hope the SHO gets the axe and we get something more FUN and dramatic. But that is a long shot.

I wouldn't say so. Look how fast they sprung a new GT on us. There was minor talk of it and then BAM, new Ford GT.

Don't put your hat up just yet.
I wish I could be hopeful but I cannot. The Falcon is on its way out and I don't see a global market for it with US Taurus and Australian Falcon sales are going lower and lower each month.
