Sean Bull (the guy who makes the Renault/Alpine liveries) is so full of himself.

He was hyping the BWT-Alpine livery as being an 80’s aesthetic inspired design and the best livery on the grid. What we got instead was blue with pink blobs.
I was gonna mention this too. He really played this one up for nothing. He’s a great designer, but lost a little respect for him after this.

The colors had some real potential but he whiffed on this one badly.

Not gonna lie,...I actually like the "real" livery. Considering that BWT is Alpine's title sponsor now, I was expecting a healthy dose of pink on the car. The overall design is admittedly quite generic, but the Blue, Red and Pink don't quite clash as much as even the little pink stripe did against the Aston Martin from last season. I do kinda miss the large Alpine "A," though.

The "show" livery for the first 2 races, however, looks pretty bleh imo. It looks like someone dunked the first 2/3rds of the car in a bottle of Pepto.

A 1980s design? The blue/pink Onyx Moneytron design, I guess? Why would he be inspired by that? Or does he mean 1980s designs in general (simple, lots of squares/rectangles and straight lines, only two or three colors)? That doesn't sound very good to me either.

This is how he hyped it up.

Plainly speaking, that is not what we got.

Instead we got the regular Alpine livery but with the sponsors shuffled out of the way to make room for some giant mandatory pink BWT blobs.

So many of the new crop of cars feature louvers around the sidepod and engine cover. Impressive that a Grand Prix technology 120 years old is still new.

In his defence, it sounds like they were going for that futuristic blade runner neon style but BWT have clearly said no, wanting a cleaner, more cooperate look.

Would surprise me if we see him do a render of his original vision.

Haas' Russian livery is looking really good right now. Yesterday and today was a great time to launch it (as in show off the car, not launch it at Ukraine)

Red Bulls look good. Yellow on the nose looks nicer in real photos than the reveal ones. Max's #1 looks really thick, though. Needs to be slimmed down.

Much bigger sidepods that I was expecting towards the rear - bigger than most others - and another fully-laden front wing too.

I believe the current wheel covers don't move - correct? (or was that the older ones?) I love the Alfa. I think the carbon fibre vents on the side pods actually work well with the car, and I love that they bothered to use the wheel covers unlike...anyone else?

The Alfa is probably the one car you could enjoy driving at the back of the pack because it's pretty and you'll probably have a good lookin' race suit to stuff in your closet.

Interesting shot of the Alfa in motion - it appears the wheel covers don't mix to pink as expected, although I've yet to see any video:
