There was plenty given in the 1st phase - if there was no respect, Hamilton would have run him off the track instead. Besides, you can't expect room to be given every single time wheel to wheel combat occurs. In that situation, Verstappen should have backed off because it was clear Hamilton was going to go through the apex ahead with a door that was always closing. It's not as though the door shut instantly, there was a decent amount of time before it did. You never had this many incidents of this nature with the old school drivers.
So Stroll closing the door on Vettel is okay and Fernando getting pushed off is okay, also? Finally, this isn't old school- this is the FIA today.

Cooler track, Soft tires... hope Mercedes made the right call.

Lando nooooooooooooooooo! 😔

Mercedes are destroying the competition this weekend. Strategy is right, and have so much pace in hand.

Are you seriously comparing Stoll v Vettel on a straight to the Hamilton v Verstappen today? Jeez it's not incidents aren't just black and white you know. :/

100%. Merc is the class of the field today, I think they eyeballed this week to win. I hope George and Lewis are clean through to the end.

Not surprised to hear them say they're racing. Perez and Sainz are too much of a threat to try and hold position.

Your stance seems to be black and white. If Lewis can close the door, why can't Lance? Yeah, both are dangerous. That is the problem with the rules, as is. I care less about Lewis v Max- I care about safety and fun racing to watch.

Just forget it, if you can't see that the two incidents are completely different in every aspect possible, then there's no point in further discussion.

Glad to hear Mercedes allowing their drivers to race. That's what we want to see with the fastest cars on track, unlike a certain other team.

Understood. You started with absolutes, then moved to nuance, now backing out. Enjoy the rest of the race.
