Can't find a thread on this so here's one.

Best way I can describe this with a full lobby is Mario Kart with BS penalties instead of BS items, and I know which one's more enjoyable.

The racing is actually pretty decent with 4-5 people though

Tried it last night. Took me a while to actually get to the racing because I got disconnected so many times, but then I finally got to race in a group of 6-7 people. It was a lot of fun. There was some close racing. Kind of happy there is big penalties for collisions and corner cutting so the racing has been mostly clean from my experience.

I'm liking this one a lot. Fun stuff. Yeah, the racing seems pretty clean. Rather there's no boost on but I understand. If I recall correctly, in boost mode I ran a 1:25 lap, which is quite a bit faster than a not boosted lap.

Actually pretty fun, and at times intense, if you're racing with a few people. Once the lobby becomes full or near full, then all hell breaks loose. The full/near full lobbies I've raced in were full of laggers and people who can't stick to a single racing line , but there weren't that many rammers as far as I know and people tried racing as clean as possible.

Why is the steering messed up in this? Steering angle seems to be halved, I have to turn the wheel way too much to make the bloody thing turn.

Also, boost:yuck:👎

This would have been great with 880PP in our own cars (tuning possible) and no damn boost!

Hey I was there racing with you!
This event is really fun :) even with those weird penalties and ridiculous boost that can make you reduce your lap times by 10 seconds :D

Is there a trick to manipulating the boost that I'm not getting? I'm getting passed by people that look like they have 200+ more horsepower than me sometimes lol.

Do they go to last at the start and then slingshot up through the field on lap 2 or 3?

That's a reasonable question actually because I think you're right. I'm not the fastest but I'm not the slowest and sometimes some cars just blow by me.

Got another 1:25 lap. Almost 24. :mischievous:

After some more goes at the event, I'm thinking that boost might not be the case.

Boost does make a difference, but not the way I thought it might have been being exploited.

What was happening to me earlier, I'm now doing to other people. I just figured out how to be faster. Although, I admit I haven't really been looking at my lap times, so I don't know how quick I really am...

Corner exit is the king in this event. If you exit well, you can gain huge amounts of time down the straights...like, unrealistic amounts of time. Other than the first chicane, I'm at full throttle through the apex of every corner leading onto a straight. I've caught up to people by doing this from being so far back I almost couldn't see them.

Abuse the crap out of the curbs, Vettel style. You can go all for wheels off the track without getting penalties if you take the right line.

This event has some of the weirdest penalties I've ever seen. I've got penalties for being T-boned

Also, watch out for Brazilians!!

By the way, Is there anyway to find out the tune for the quick match? I would love to get its Slip diff settings!

I assume it's stock
It can't be stock. When down shifting for a corner stock, the rear wheels have a tendancy to slow down faster than the car does and cause you to spin out. The tune here on gt planet almost fixes that problem entirely, but this one doesn't do it at all.

Pretty sure it's stock, they would say something about it if it was. Remember the car has a lot less power and 100kg added weight. That weight is probably keeping the care more balanced.

It says on the quick match description that it's tuned to be easier to drive. I haven't done this event myself though so no idea if it is.
The easier to drive part made me laugh. The so called tune has so much understeer. I kept mowing grass on the fast bends, it's like the wheel wants full lock applied!

Loved the video @dylanlikes88. The amount of smoke was crazy, not seen that on my 2 attempts.. but did see the same crazy driving and major lag issues.

Very true.
"Easier to drive" -My ***
This is the hardest car I have ever driven in GT6. It just does'nt steer at all, its like driving a 8 million tonne brick that is FWD

It drives fine to me. Not much wheel spin, turns when I tell it to. Plus, I compared how much I turn my steering wheel to how much a real F1 driver turns theirs thru the first chicane, and it was almost identical.

Edit: I have no idea how it drives with a controller. I haven't tried it yet. I know a lot of cars drive better with a wheel, so I'm assuming you use a DS3.

No man, TRL and DS3 does'nt go together very well.
Steering angle in the slow bends may be fine, but look at the steering angle in the high speed corners and you'll see a clear difference.

Edit, did you really think a double GT academy finalist use a DS3?

I'm just assuming your talking about the wheel in the game. I'm talking about the steering wheel I have in my living room.

Same here, but I will not take this discussion with you.
If you have ever driven a car in real life, you'll know GT6 is not the best of simulators, and you'll also know that the physics in this specific event is even worse, and is pretty much as arcadey as they get.

And, if you do some digging, you'll see that I know a thing or 2 about this game. ;)
