Mad and Energiya, I will look for a copy (hopefully find) for you guys and grab them. I've seen them in EB recently. Last year, I paid $37 each, for 2 copies, gave one to PAPA so we can race each other sometimes.

I don't think the PAL servers will go down for a long time as they still have the F1 2005 servers still running for the PS2

two games purchased slow boat shipping might have them in a couple of weeks then we may get to play

I just stumbled into finding this game. Can the US version (ntsc) still be used for online with friends?

Sorry if this has been answered, but I searched and cannot find anything.

No, the US versoin had it's online servers shut down because of lack of activity. You can still get a european copy to use online off of ebay.
