Sorry what? he took firearms away from people who are under incredible stress and have been taught the most efficient way to kill people? jerk.

So we should just disarm the entire military because they know how to kill people? How come I never thought of that before? While we're at it, blow up all the F-16's in the Air Force, cause they could go postal and start shooting missiles at cities!

It's nice to take things out of context, isn't it. People can come off as all-wise.

Go you!

You could make the case that the death toll was high because people didn't have firearms to defend themselves. However, the opposite argument can be applied. More instances like this could happen if people were armed all the time, when it is not necessary for them to be so.

Yet every person on the military base probably has as much access to a gun as anyone else and could've done this. And if you really want to do something like this, obtaining a gun to do it with isn't difficult. Hasan's gun was purchased not long before this happened. The best reason that everyone doesn't at least carry a sidearm around is that it shouldn't be necessary. I'd like to think it should at least be optional. Nobody is really expecting to be attacked when at a US Military base in the US. Its different if you're at one in a country where an attack is more possible by an outside force.

And seriously, 13 kills, 30 injuries inflicted from ONE GUY who only used ONE HANDGUN on a MILITARY BASE? That's 🤬 embarassing security guys. I know its a FN 5-7 with 19 rounds, but damn. With 100% accuracy he'd still need a third magazine.

I agree with everything you just said. In fact, you made my point better than I could have.
