Do you mean in the HUD? If so just bring up the telemetry screen, that will be far more accurate than some barely legible analogue boost gauge.

The Escort Cosworth has one on the dash in the line of sight. IIRC The interior boost gauges were functional in FM3

A lap around Road America.

Edit: Ah, I see it was posted in the other thread. Should have looked there first. Sorry. :)

Everything outside the track looks like a photo. And the track is awesome, too. All the skid marks and stuff is there, finally. The lighting is much better...in the previous installments, the tracks were all very clean and everything was all bright and shiny. Nice to see they've moved away from that a little bit.

Edit: In the autovista video, the presenter seems to have issues moving around the car with the Kinect, where as Dan was zippin' around the car with the controller. Seems like Kinect support is still a little clunky. Perhaps I'll wait a bit and buy the Kinect when it's less buggy. It'd be nice to just say "Xbox, Buy Car" from the race menu and zip straight to the dealerships. Which you'd think that since MS did the system in the cars, they'd be able to get kinect working better out of the gate. But...oh well. I'll stick with the controller for now.

No idea if this has been posted yet but still. At least it confirmes that Camino Viejo nad Catalunya are in the game.

Yes they are functional for sure. My Ford GT boost gauge stays pegged 👍

No problems. I had not seen it, so thanks for posting. This is the Forza 4 gameplay videos thread anyways, so I don't think anyone minds.

I haven't looked at the video you're talking about but if it was on the demo floor it's already been stated that the loud sounds and flashing lights of that enviroment wreaks havoc on Kinect

Heh. I guess you guys didn't notice it, but: The rev counter in that presentation of Dan's M3 at Gamescom is different than the one used on the show room floor. So, he's using a different build than the E³/GC demo.
I wonder what else they might have improved on.

Either that, or they allow customization of the UI.

Custom UI would be great. Replicas of each car's dials on the HUD would be better still.

That wuld be friggin' awesome indeed. Much like Shift 2 did it in the hood view. 👍

I think PGR did something like that also. It is a nice touch but I can see where Forza went with consistency and , strangely enough, the custom dials in anything but cockpit view portrays an "arcade" feel to me. I know I'd have to explain that one.

I have watched the Road America clip about 20 times now. I just cannot believe how real it looks. I am so impressed.

As for custom dials, yes please!

I understand they were in a bad environment for the Kinect to function properly, and as a current owner of a Kinect I know how well it should function. That said I would still rather use a controller / wheel for Autovista, especially since I will be playing from my Playseat. The true use of this, at least for me, will be with voice commands and head tracking. Still a cool feature though.

Part 1
- Autovista will be multilangual
- T10 hiredd a guy from Pixar too help with the lighting engine.

Part 2
- Dan rolls a 458 over on the Alps track with cosmetic damage.
- Damage is now more localized at point of impact.
- Look at the way the sun reflects on the car @ 1:22.

Head tracking is the only thing that really interests me with FM4 and Kinect. I may get Kinect just for that. I don't know how useful the voice thing would really be for me at this point since I've seen and heard so little about it thus far. I definitely won't be driving using Kinect, but rather with my Microsoft wheel.

Voice commands let you jump through the menus quickly. They have announced that you can jump in between any point in the menus with a single command; for example "Forza: Upgrade, Forza: World Tour, Forza: Multiplayer," etc etc. I wouldn't say this specifically is a reason to go out and buy Kinect, but head tracking certainly is. Voice commands are mainly a feature to increase accessibility and decrease time spent navigating menus.

I miss that rig so much. I wanted to take it home with me, but they guys at Gamescom wouldn't let me :indiff:

One screen under the shirt, one in a pant leg, one in the other pant leg, wheel under your hat, stand in your sleeve, etc, etc. Damn...it could have been yours.
