First impressions:
Visuals are good: Rio is definitely a visually good looking track. 👍
Night racing at Yas Marina, whilst the floodlights keep the track bright, it's a well done setting, although a run a Le Mans or the Ring in darkness will be the acid test for me.
Wet weather at Sebring, an absolute change from I'm used to seeing, it was very good looking and the standing water made for good visuals as well as a extra challenge in a rear drive RX7 ( or Z06 in rivals.)
Driving psychics; ( I'm using a controller so take that into consideration.)
Compared to FM5, the cars felt more planted, of course the real test is when I can build and tune up the cars to my driving style.
On sim steering, the cars do snap quicker if too much counter steer is applied in a drift, but that I can adjust to over time.
Definitely fun in the rain mind.
Mods: quite a nice addition in my opinion, using in game credits to buy packs for rare mods is a good choice although Micro Transactions showing up in the full game for mods isn't an impossibility.
I personally hope it doesn't come back.
Engine sounds: very nice and crisp IMO.
👍
Wheelspins: glad to see they are making a return, giving the players a very good incentive to progress and level up.
For my first run through, I won the Mustang GT and 1,000,000 credits ( I hope they get brought over as well, probably won't but a guy can dream right?)
The only real drawback I can say is the music, the dramatic music could wear on me over time, but at least it can be switched off.
Where it matters though, FM6 is looking great and next Thursday (the 10th) can't come quick enough.
