One thing I really like that I haven't noticed before in a Forza is the ability to increase brake pressure during the braking phase. Too much pressure initially causes proper lock ups which is good. But I've also noticed that you can steadily increase the pressure during the braking phase without locking up to a point where lock ups occur again. Feels very close to reality IMO.
Yes, this is exactly what I noticed as well. Its a big step over FM5 and it shocked me at first. Locked up right into the first turn

Do you both run with or without anti lock brakes? I have always had anti lock brakes off along with all other assists off and have always had to gradually put pressure on the brakes. Also results in quite a bit of front / rear brake tuning to get each car perfect.

ABS off. FM5 was way easier regarding no ABS. I never really had to gradually press it, I just went to the exact spot before locking. 1/2-3/4 on the brakes would generally be the area I would have to stay in, but in FM6 it seems to be a bit sooner now.

Only assist I leave on is Driving line under braking, not to follow religiously, but just for slight reference as most of the time it isn't even correct anyways.

My thoughts so far on the driving and physics (as it seems to be what I've thought about the most after playing the demo)...

I've only ever played Gran Turismo games up until last week ,when I got FH2. In Horizon, it's definitely a more 'cade-y physics model, and was much harder to adjust to from GT games. Forza 6 is WAY better for realism than almost everything I've played though. I run Sim steering and no assists in both this new demo and in FH2, and the one thing I notice the most is the amount of finesse required when counter-steering in a drift or slide situation: You really have to get it right, or it will snap around. If you're feeling timid about it, as I often do as a new player, it's almost easier to just continue your turn w/o counter-steering and just let off the throttle until the car corrects. Slower, but more consistent. I have yet to try normal steering to see if it's any easier.

I play on a pad, btw. And, I do like the xbone controllers so far.

Other than the odd counter-steering, I've never felt so much in control (or seemingly inside) of a car in-game as I do in FH6. Very excited to play the full version on the 10th, before my cross-country move.

I actually stumbled upon that yesterday on my own when watching a replay, but the detail on your's looks above mine. Did you pull them from xboxclips.com, or where you able to share directly to your one drive?

When I tried to send it to my onedrive yesterday it wouldn't allow me, and an error popped up everytime, yet I was able to with photos from different games.

I pulled mine from this site, then downloaded it and uploaded it to my imgur account(Guest accounts on imgur compress the photos).

I found out what my problem was. I was using the preset 800x450 photo on flickr, but what I didn't notice is that it converts it from .PNG, to .JPG. Losing quality in the process. I never noticed that until right now, I'll just have to use the full size links in the future.

Side by side test, don't mind me

While the JPG image looks sharper, it lost detail. I've always used the smaller images for years now. I guess I'll have to stay away now.

Glad you found out and I just saw your photos a few pages back, They look amazing!

Thank you, and glad to have another Forzatographer around! Hopefully FM6 will bring some more activity to this side of the forum.

First impressions:

Visuals are good: Rio is definitely a visually good looking track. 👍

Night racing at Yas Marina, whilst the floodlights keep the track bright, it's a well done setting, although a run a Le Mans or the Ring in darkness will be the acid test for me. ;)

Wet weather at Sebring, an absolute change from I'm used to seeing, it was very good looking and the standing water made for good visuals as well as a extra challenge in a rear drive RX7 ( or Z06 in rivals.)

Driving psychics; ( I'm using a controller so take that into consideration.)

Compared to FM5, the cars felt more planted, of course the real test is when I can build and tune up the cars to my driving style.

On sim steering, the cars do snap quicker if too much counter steer is applied in a drift, but that I can adjust to over time.

Definitely fun in the rain mind. :D

Mods: quite a nice addition in my opinion, using in game credits to buy packs for rare mods is a good choice although Micro Transactions showing up in the full game for mods isn't an impossibility.

I personally hope it doesn't come back.

Engine sounds: very nice and crisp IMO. ;)👍

Wheelspins: glad to see they are making a return, giving the players a very good incentive to progress and level up.

For my first run through, I won the Mustang GT and 1,000,000 credits ( I hope they get brought over as well, probably won't but a guy can dream right?)

The only real drawback I can say is the music, the dramatic music could wear on me over time, but at least it can be switched off.

Where it matters though, FM6 is looking great and next Thursday (the 10th) can't come quick enough.

Thank you for saying what I wanted to say (as close as possible)
I loved the night race at Yas, and Sebring, being my fav track, wet is even more enjoyable, as long as I stay clear of the water pools. :P
Let's hope that in the game, we can turn off that 🤬 music.
I won a Bugatti Veyron and 1.000.000 on my 2 spins. Chose the Sue-bar-who 22B as my first car. It's just my fav iconic car since GT3. 👍
Pre-ordered the Ultimate Edition and already downloaded. :nervous:
Darn, the next 8 days are gonna be ... :nervous::odd::scared::banghead:
I feel so exited about FM6 :D, way more than I felt about FM5. 👍 Let's hope for no disappointments.
I feel an anxiety attack coming on ....
FM6: The game to play! ? :dopey:

PS. Stupid me, this morning, after the game was downloaded, I tried to play it, only to get the message that ... it's too early to play it .. etc...
Sep/10, please hurry

How do I get to rivals? It keeps sending me to the buy now page...but I already preordered!
After you finish the 4 races, it'll restart the demo and at the menu where it shows, Buy Now, Forza Hub, start career, you can now pick rivals.

Btw, your assists will reset to default each time you start a new rivals event due to it restarting the demo each time you're finished with an event.

So do your deadzones, as well as you're controller setup, if you've changed that.

Has anyone else noticed that within the demo when the screen appears trying to get you to buy FM6 that under standard edition it says Fast & Furious car pack but no ten year anniversary car pack, it was both my own and my friends understanding that the standard edition included the anniversary pack but not the F&F pack.

Doesn't matter for me as I'm getting the ultimate edition but should my friend believe the demo or the Xbox store, or even both?

To piggyback what people may be saying about the Ferrari F430 Scuderia, I didnt have too much of an issue with the snap oversteer in the slower corners, but I was having issues with the car wanting to push wide after exiting a corner. Any one else?

Río looks beautiful but I don't like how cartooney they made Pão de Açúcar. It's odd the game looks incredibly photo-real in Sebring and Yas Marina and then they throw that background at Río, I know it's a fantasy track but still. The favelas look nice and colourful, that bit before the tunnel is awesome.

Everything that has been written on the descriptions in the xbox store alludes to the F&F pack being bundled with the Deluxe and Ultimate editions only. In fact... what is even more confusing, is that after you download everything, the 10 year pack (and VIP, car pass) appear in your queue as "pre-loaded", but the F&F pack disappears from the queue and is only visible if you go to the store and search for it. It then says "Play on 9/10".

How can I judge the demo if every time I quit I have to start all over again?
Am I missing something?
That makes two of us, what gives?
Anybody else?? Is this normal? I do 2 or 3 races, decide to leave, enter the game again and it brings me back to the trailer (I can't even skip it) and all my progress is gone, even my settings for the controller and deadzones!
