Glad you resisted the urge not to play the demo. Was looking forward to your reply. :sly:
And yes I loved how intense the last race was in the rain. The rain puddles and water physics added a new element of terror to watch for on the track. Something I have NEVER experienced in a racing game other than PGR4. I cant wait to try Nurburgring at night and also in the rain. :D

I usually don't play Demos on games that I am already buying which is the case with Forza 6, this is mainly because I don't want any spoilers. I usually only play demos on games that I want to try out, to see if I like it enough to buy it. However this was one case where I am glad I did because that demo is amazing, so much fun to play! I'm also very glad to see that Playground games rubbed off on Turn 10 a little with the new features included in FM6. I think those two studios push each other to do better, I honestly can't wait to see how good Horizon 3 is going to be next year.

Very good point about the Playground games features including the rain, night, fireworks, and wheel spins. They indeed seem to push each other even if PG does seem to be more of the guiniee pig / beta testers of new features. Works out best for both developers. I am also looking forward to seeing how good FH3 will be. I know it will most likely be a day 1 purchase for me if it is anywhere near as good as FH2.

Really, @McLaren? 2:33.859 vs. 2:33.932 (Corvette Rivals event) - I hate you.
Haha, I think I managed that after a couple tries. The Corvette definitely has more in it, it's just learning the best lines in the wet, personally. Very fun car.

Like ImaRobot, I got burned out after a couple more laps. Spent the majority running the 430S.

Had to use the xbox snapshot in order to get them out, and then go to xboxclips.com to save them as they are restricted from sharing on console. I also noticed I have to resync my TV to match my uploads again

Mo

I probably won't mess with it too much, as the quality compared to actual in game uploads is significantly worse. Also, I have to resync my TV and Monitor to reflect the same photos, which I'd likely be to lazy to do until the actual game comes out.

The 430S definitely has the best sound, can't wait to drive all the other Ferraris.
The best sounds and the worst physics of all cars (in the demo). If a real mid engine Ferrari had so sudden and unrecoverable snap oversteer like in Forza 6 all Ferrari owners will be dead within a week. The car is also impossible to drift in this game ( real 430 although not a good drift car are perfectly controllable in drift, see best motoring video on youtube ), so don't be so excited about any mid engined car in Forza.

Is it just me, or does the guy with the headset in the first photo seem rather giant?

Not the experience I had what so ever. I didn't have any snap oversteer either.. Although weight transfer made the car easily drift around corners.

Either way, all cars have the exact same physics.

You probably drive with a pad, now if you have a chance try with a Thrustmaster TX, no assists and simulation steering, you will see what I am talking about.

Simulation steering is what causes the snap oversteer. It intensifies any corrections.

I got some crazy snap oversteer in the 430 as well, at the hairpin to be exact. Using a controller
Really? I had some oversteer, but only caused by braking into the turns and loosing traction, as well as weight transfer.

I mentioned this yesterday but maybe it was overlooked. Make sure you turn OFF simulation steering. There has always been problems in Forza with snap over steer if you leave that on. Try with that off and see how well it works.

I have always run with all assists off and I run manual with clutch. Simulation steering has always been a bit wonky in Forza. Hope that helps.

I tried sim steering with the controller. After fighting tank slapper after tank slapper, I decided to reset the race and turn sim steering back off.

Just wanted to say that racing in the rain looks fantastic! Just hopped on GT6 and it's absolutely brutal. Last time I played PCARS in the rain on the French road it was lagging and skipping the whole lap.

Agreed, I've got rid of sim steering because it really is just stupid with it. I also think the lack of feeback in the wheel makes it hard to tell what the back end is doing. I've switched to bonnet view from cockpit view as I find that I notice the visual cues quicker that way. Still get some very low speed snap oversteer that can't be attributed to weight transfer that has me puzzled. Much better than FM5 though.

Very odd the varying experiences between both pads and wheels.

Thanks but why they call it simulation steering, it should be called snapoversteering steering. Also the 430 in reality oversteers only when heavily provoked.

Exactly and low speed snap oversteer is possible only in Forza reality and with a wheel ffb controls so counterintuitive that we need to search for visual cues it just gets to another level of absurdity.

There is a description of how the steering is effected when you are at the menu, it describes this.

I never turn on sim steering, and it was at low speed. Probably why I only experienced it at the hairpin. My next couple time through I tried to go through with more speed but pushed way to wide

Possibly too much throttle coupled with weight transfer from the turn before? It being mid engine would cause the rear to whip out pretty quick in a situation like that.

One thing I really like that I haven't noticed before in a Forza is the ability to increase brake pressure during the braking phase. Too much pressure initially causes proper lock ups which is good. But I've also noticed that you can steadily increase the pressure during the braking phase without locking up to a point where lock ups occur again. Feels very close to reality IMO.

That could very well be it, only car I've done it with.
