A crossover between Forza Horizon 2 and Fast & Furious?
Guys, this is quite possibly the best thing since sliced bread. :dopey:
No.

The Charger RT with a supercharger will be the closest we can get, then. Thanks to the F&F franchise for choosing a tamer version for their film...

No Hellcat? Thank 🤬 for that.

Given the, let's be honest, far from realistic physics (they're good but not realistic) would a difference between a normal Challenger/Charger be different enough to a Hellcat to warrant their inclusion?

Personally, given the mods you can do in the game, I don't see the point in including basically a pre-modified version of cars already in the game. Especially as paid DLC.

If they were different body styles such as a wagon, or a ute, then fine that'd be cool. But for a car/s that look virtually identical to the ones already in the game just with a bit more power, I think adding them would be pointless, going on insulting.

Free DLC of the Hellcat/s? Fine, but to pay for essentially what's already in the game from launch? No thanks.

It's like that stupid 'Rampage' Challenger (notice anything recurring there?) that was in paid DLC for Forza 4. Bloody disappointing.

Rockstar Energy Car Pack

Where can you drive Tanner Foust’s Global Rallycross Beetle? In Forza Horizon 2 for Xbox One with today’s release of the Rockstar Energy Car Pack! Built for the dirt-filled circuits of the Red Bull Global Rallycross series, this 2014 Volkswagen GRC is an ideal mixture of pure power and serious grip.

Tanner’s Beetle is just the start with the Rockstar Energy Pack, which also includes an array of cars that are just waiting for their chance to kick up a cloud of dust. In the woods or on the road the newest Subaru WRX STi is ready for action; for luxury cruising there is no match for the ultimate “Ultimate Driving Machine,” the BMW 850CSI. The latest super saloon from Jaguar is waiting for you to sink into its lap of luxury and, lo and behold, we have another Forza first: the Desert Dingo #1107 Baja Bug.

Your free car for March is the Acura Integra Type-R, a high-revving, front-wheel-drive masterpiece that will have many JDM fanboys jumping for joy.

The Rockstar Energy Car Pack for Forza Horizon 2 for Xbox One is available from the Xbox Live Store for $5. Here’s a closer look at the cars in the pack:

2014 Volkswagen Beetle GRC

Volkswagen says it’s way hotter than “Herbie,” and we would be hard-pressed to argue. Tanner Foust’s Red Bull Global Rallycross Beetle has been built from the ground up as a thoroughbred racecar. Foust, who was sponsored by Xbox and Forza during the 2014 GRC season, debuted the Beetle GRC at the Los Angeles leg of the 2014 Global Rallycross season and drove it the rest of the year to develop it to compete in 2015. With 540 turbocharged horsepower coming from the 1.6-liter motor and all-wheel-drive to get things moving, this is a Beetle like no other. In a straight line, this Beetle will see 0-60 in just over two seconds. In the corners, it drifts and cuts a turn with precision on any surface. It’s a Forza first, and Forza Horizon 2 is the perfect environment to give it a good thrashing.

2015 Subaru WRX STI

The WRX is a car for all occasions. You can drive it daily, you can take it road racing and it launches like a rocketship at the dragstrip. And rallying? It’s what it the WRX was designed for. Out of the box, the STi is fast and has intuitive, incredible handling. It also takes to modification wonderfully and can quickly become a go-to car for just about any event. The heart of the 2015 WRX STi is still the faithful EJ motor. The sound it makes, the way it the turbo spools up and sets you back in your seat, and the steady stream of power are proof enough there is no reason to fix what isn’t broken. Sure, the WRX STi is all boy-racer, but if you are going to talk the talk, it’s cool to walk the walk.

1996 BMW 850CSi

The closest thing to an M8 BMW ever developed will not only drop your jaw at almost any speed, it will do so with the style and refinement that only a BMW provides. In its day, this was BMW’s ultimate driving machine. It came with a 5.6-liter V12, included sleek reshaped bumpers and an improved suspension with newly-developed technological electronic enhancements such as stability control. The car’s V12 doled out more than 400 foot-pounds of torque and 372 hp. While some may argue the car was too luxurious and carried to much weight as a result, the pillarless hardtop design is stunning. And, really, is there really any such thing as “too luxurious?” We think not.

2015 Jaguar XFR-S

The notion of the four-door sports sedan just got a shot in the arm in the form of the Jaguar XFR-S. No matter what company you keep, this feline is dressed to impress and courtesy of a 550-horsepower V8, ready to pounce on command. Those are supercharged horses under the hood, so there is the added benefit of the lovely whine of the machinery. If you don’t feel like smoking the tires all day, which this Jag can surely do, there is an active differential system that modulates power to the wheels to maximize grip. Jaguar is the originator of the super saloon, and in the modern era of supercar luxury models, they continue to show the automotive world who the top dog… or cat… is.

1970 Volkswagen #1107 Desert Dingo Racing Stock Bug

Desert Dingo Racing is one of the few teams crazy enough to try and take on the legendary Baja 1000 off-road race in a class eleven Volkswagen Beetle. Class eleven means stock so, plainly put, the Dingos race a stock air-cooled VW bug in the longest continuous off-road race in the world. No, it’s not easy; in fact, it is near impossible, despite the VW Bug’s legendary durability, adaptability, and gumption. We are talking about silt beds that will swallow a Beetle whole, rocks that are bigger than the wheels, and hidden jumps placed on the course by locals who watch in excitement as unwary racers catch huge air. The terrain of the Baja 1000 is well suited to 1,000 horsepower trophy trucks with two-feet of suspension travel. For a stock Beetle, that is already more than 40 years old, it’s sheer torture on both man and machine. The Dingo’s have yet to win the race, in fact they have yet to finish, but the #1107 is ready to show you what it’s got and win your heart.

This month’s free car for Forza Horizon 2 for Xbox One is a JDM gem that is anxiously awaiting to be tuned and cruised.

2001 Acura Integra Type-R

The Type-R name has become legendary for a good reason: there have been few front-wheel drive cars so rewarding to drive as the Acura Integra Type-R. Then there’s the sound of the highly-developed 1.8-liter four — when the VTEC kicks in on the motor’s way up to a stratospheric 8,600 RPM redline, it’s clear this coupe means business. A whole generation of car enthusiasts grew up with the Integra Type-R being their ideal sports coupe — a blank slate for modification already pretty hot right out of the box. Hot, but subtle — you might miss the taller rear wing and model-specific lightweight wheels if you’re not looking for them. Of course, there’s nothing subtle about its performance, and there are few brand-new front-drivers that can keep up when the going gets twisty.

The Rockstar Energy Car Pack is included in the Forza Horizon 2 Car Pass. Car Pass owners may download all the cars of the pack for free. The Rockstar Energy Car Pack is the sixth and final car pack included with the Forza Horizon 2 Car Pass. Any future car packs for Forza Horizon 2 for Xbox One will be available for purchase individually for $5 each.

*sigh* I don't overall care for the SRT Hellcat that much anyway. I just find it surprising that Turn 10 hasn't considered such a popular muscle car to be included in FH2. Though, I do think there are some differences in appearance and how the Hellcat handles that could warrant it an appearance as dlc in FH2.

Oh well though, it's not in the pack and probably won't be in any other packs down the road. I'll move on, because I just bought the newest pack and I like it quite a bit so far. It's nice to see the DC2 Integra Type R now on the xbox one version, there's also the 850csi, the 2015 STI, XFR-S, and the VW Beetle GRC. I love all of these additions! The only one I'm not happy with is the 1970 Beetle.

Hey guys, what's up? I few days ago, I've just completed the Horizon Championship (completing the game). However, unlike in Forza Horizon on the Xbox 360 where I rushed it, I took my time and taken breaks from the game in order to not complete it so fast this time. The best part though, there is still lots of replayability, thus the fun is not over yet (yay!). To keep it that way, I bought the Storm Island expansion pack because not only do I love rally, but also because Forza Horizon 2 is such a addictive game. So far I'm on the 3rd part to unlocking the championship. :D:tup:

My only criticism is some events have those REALLY big hills where you'll sometimes go flipping or barrel rolling in the air or crashing into trees if you're not paying attention. Can get quite annoying, but hey, they are called "Extreme Cross Country events", so I shouldn't be complaining about that (though I just wanted to express that to let it out there). Other than that, I can't help but laugh everytime I see the drivatars crash into each other and go flipping all over the place, that usually helps me forget about what I've mentioned above. Overall, I'm glad I've purchased this DLC, was so worth it. Even though I haven't bought the rally expansion in FH1, I can tell the devs have greatly improved this one and giving it a whole new map (not giving their current world a new face). MG Metro 6R4.....it's in my hands once again, this time in Forza.

Oh boy... Now I kinda want FM6 to feature off road sprint and circuit rallying now. lol. Now I see why @Wolfe and @GranTurismo guy wants it to feature rally so bad. :embarrassed: I think T10 can do it if they're willing to, in order for their next game to differ from their last games. Oh, btw I got FM5. But I always tend to run back to this one. :)

It's definitely a fun game with plenty of replayability. I have gone so far as to buy every car in the game. I'm going through and painting and driving each one, will probably get around to photographing each one, too. For me, it's fun to just get in a car and drive it. No racing, no championships, just drive it.

That's pretty much what an open-world racing game boils down to: have fun with your vehicle in a large world to explore. And few other racing games make exploring absolutely enthralling and inebriating like Horizon 2 does. Playground Games... Can I just say that I love you and your products? :embarrassed:

That's something I've been doing ever since I completed the last championship. :) Been messing around, tuning cars and taking photos during the adventure. It's just so much fun! I may complete some races, but that will be minor haha. :D:tup:

Cheers

Those are exactly the same thing I'm doing in Horizon 2. I have successfully won every one of the 168 championships, so really, I've been messing around, fine-tuning my cars, taking a few "souvenir snapshots", and the token Road Trip from time to time (both offline and online). I've never been hooked to a game so much since Test Drive Unlimited on my PSP, Gran Turismo 4 on my old PS2, ModNation Racers on the PS3, and Project Gotham Racing 4.

And speaking of Test Drive Unlimited... I feel Horizon 3 should be a bit more like TDU, with a huge map, purchasable houses, garages, fully customizable avatars, an event editor and whatnot. I think Playground has all the right cards to do a fantastic TDU-esque racing game. Still, Horizon 2 is totally mind-blowing, and I think it deserves the hype it got and the acclaim it received.

BTW, I also have my own playlist for Horizon 2, which goes well over 300 songs, and split under 4 "sub-playlists": an original one (200 songs), one for Storm Island (~40 songs, WIP), one entirely composed of songs released on Monstercat (60 songs), and finally one for the upcoming Fast & Furious expansion pack (~50 songs, WIP). ;)

I'm glad you guys seem to be enjoying FH2 the way I enjoyed FH1.

It's a shame how FH2-360's watered-down handling and dull, uninspired map make it a poor candidate for a cozy open-world hangout. I enjoyed my run through the game, but there isn't a lot to keep me playing and clocking up 20k+ miles like I did in FH1.

I'm looking to pick up Horizon 2 after I've gotten used to the full Motorsport game since I bought an XB1 a few days ago. I know I'm late to the FnF DLC party, but with it being free until the movie releases, it'll be a good entry point for me to look into when it comes to Horizon 2.

Same here bud, Forza Horizon 2 is a really great game with lot's to do. :)👍 I like the idea for FH3 to be a bit like TDU, although at the same time I think it's best for it to remain as it is haha. (^^') However, it can use some elements from it though, like for example, avatar customization. That, and allow you to come out from your car and walk around (but have invisible barriers to block you from going too far from your car) in any area in said world, do poses (positive) and interact with other players online. :D If the next game takes in Japan and we have like I mentioned, ooooohhh, that'll be so cool! To stand outside of your car along with your friends to watch two drifters drift around a parking area and cheering them on will be epic! 👍👍

Whoa! O_O I wanna do that too! :D

Do you btw any chance own the X360 version of FH2 @Wolfe? I remember trying the demo version of it and was very disappointed to find fences all over the place, whereas the XB1's deom version differ from this as it was more open. PG did everything you mentioned to get players paying for the XB1 plus FH2. To me, sure that's a smart move but at the same time it isn't. I'm surprised they even attempted that, but hope they won't it again for FH3 because everybody will know not to get the X360 ver of it.

In the XB1 version (full game?), there is so many things to do in the game. Other than that, I'm sorry to hear the X360 version of FH2 can't keep you playing for long. :(

You should totally get it @AudiMan2011. Forza Horizon 2 has a large open world that takes place is southern Europe, stunning graphics, lots of content, great improvements from the first and has new features like perks (by doing tricks to gain skill points) and a wheelspin (everytime you level up). Making money in this game is also pretty easy, as well as leveling. Unlike in FM5 where you have to be in a specific class to enter events, FH2 allows you to be in any class you desire and it sets drivatars to match your class and PI. You can also tune your cars like in FM5 too.

I highly recommended it because it's a game that'll keep you playing for a loooooong time, it's that addictive haha.

@TokoTurismo -- Yeah, I took to labelling each version of the game as "FH2-360" and "FH2-One" for short. It's the handling/physics in the XB360 version, man -- among arcade racers it's competent stuff, but compared to the original game it's grippy and sanitized, a step backward as if from FM4 to FM3. Lower-class cars are pretty much generic bricks on wheels, and I beat the game without ever needing to upgrade the tire compound on my cars. If the handling was exactly like it was in FH1, I could overlook the other questionable things about the XB360 version of FH2.

Some of the cars seem to be quite expensive to purchase without playing like a madman still in FH2. For example Alfa Romeo Stradale 1968 and Ferrari 1962 250 GTO (I just gotta have them! :)). I own both of these nostalgic wonders in Forza 5, but I would like to have them in my garage at FH2 too. Now, I'm still enjoying this game very much (yesterday I realised that I've been playing Horizon maybe even more than GT5 and GT6 together). However this wouldn't be the case propably if my PS3 was still working... Of course my personal stats in FH2 are obviously quite modest compared with most of you guys and girls, but personally I think that when a casual racing game fan like myself has played this approximately 80-90 hours that's not bad achievement at all...

I have played Horizon 2 for approximately 100 hours as of this writing, and I have well over 18 million credits. Then again, a playtime of over 80 hours is really unsurprising for an ultra-expansive game like Forza Horizon 2. :D

That's true nick98! I guess that I will cross that 100 hour (and 10 000km) mark within couple of months too. Unless something more interesting appear suddenly to play with in near future. (hmmm...Project CARS?). Wow, 18 million! You clearly are better in economics and saving those much needed coins than I am!:)

Well, I have to say, I managed to save up to this amount of money as I usually buy a single car for every championship and slap some upgrades to it. Plus, Horizon 2's economy feels extremely fair and balanced, it's a vast improvement over Motorsport 5's extremely under-rewarding economy.

So we can finally take screenshots... and we have no way of uploading them anywhere.

Okay, that's not a huge problem for me as I can just capture the capture with my, you guessed it, capture card. Oh wait, the Kinect icon is being obtrusive as 🤬.

Why, Xbox?
