PC spec requirements announced. FH4 to have lower minimum system requirement then FH3.

http://www.kotaku.co.uk/2018/08/23/forza-horizon-4s-minimum-specs-are-lower-than-forza-horizon-3

Also mentioned;
  • 21:9 ultra wide support
  • Automated benchmark tool
  • Adjustable FOV
  • A way to apparently push the graphics settings beyond "ultra" whatever that means

Hopefully it doesn't run like **** this time. I imagine Microsoft and PG have made that a number one priority.

Here is the 2019 Ford Ranger Raptor teaser trailer for Forza Horizon 4. Originally from Ford Europe's Twitter.

Oh baby. So many toys to play with.

So what did I miss, other then the big leak that had the Unimog and Iron Knight confirmed, among others?

More leaked images from /r/TheFastLane. Individual FOV sliders for each camera angle.

I'd be interested in seeing the colorblind mode in action with regards to a racing game. I've seen it in Battlefield, how would it work in Horizon I wonder?

We need that slider on console. If fh3 didn't have it on PC, we should be good

I woke up today and realized this will be a mini euro truck driver game. Driving those rigs in first person is gonna be epic. I can imagine the dedicated online cruise sessions with them

Btw for those scheduling their vacation around the release, the following Monday is Columbus day. Cheers

It should be, probably. Battlefield has offered this sort of gameplay and cameras customization on consoles since BF4 now, and it's becoming a big help.

One month to go for the ultimate edition. Should they be starting to do the official car list soon?
Normally the week car reveals would have ended by now. Playground did acknowledge the leaks during Gamescom, so maybe they are letting that count as the car list reveal.

Getting ready to pull the trigger on a pre-order...

I've never been through a Forza release before. Do the vendor pre-order cars have special liveries or exclusive body kits or anything? If there's a livery involved, I'm leaning toward Best Buy for the Camaro, but if it's just a gifted "stock" car then I think I can get a better deal with Amazon and the 911.

Usually just a custom tune, Nothing that you can't do yourself in just a few minutes.

Before you all jump on me,yes I do know I am probably stretching this information, but it's funny how in just over a month's time we get our hands on another top racing game and this week we hear about a new Bugatti and a new Lambo...am I the only one who smells potential dlc?

Not any time soon because the "supercars of the week" from the last few years still haven't made it into Forza yet, nevermind the slew of new ones.

Unlike our cynical naysayers, I think you might be on to something.

To make the car models to the quality standards of Forza takes several months. Licensing, sourcing a car to scan or acquiring CADD data from the manufacture, modeling the car, setting up animations, building physics data, audio design, etc.
Unless T10 or Playground got access to those cars LONG before the public reveal it is way too late for them to make it in time for FH4's DLC. At this point the DLC is likely set in stone and every car to be included with the car pass is likely 50-75% complete already.

Forza is not an Asphalt.
It would be difficult to add promptly like them.

Exactly. It's a hell of a lot harder to do new cars for a game of Forza's scope then the slapdash efforts that Asphalt does.

I need more leaks or a demo, can't stand my hype.
I imagine it’ll be only another week or so before we get a demo, if they decide to even launch one at all.

If we do get one I do hope it’s not just the opening to the game but realistically that’s probably all we’ll get.

Either way I’ll probably just end up waiting til release anyways to keep the experience as fresh as possible.

The Ferrari 812 Superfast and the McLaren 720S are good examples of this.

Since Forza has a larger staff count than Polyphony and actually ditches the "one man, one car" method where the entire modelling crew works together (the reason why Forza 7 has over 750+ cars right now, but we're talking about Horizon 4 which could have 450-500 cars at launch), they produce more cars at a faster rate without compromising their own approach to quality.

The only problem is, once a trending car has been unveiled recently, they'd take a lot of time to plan on getting that specific car to be featured in the game even if the demand for such car is very high.

i dont know about that one, the quality of car models varies a lot since they outsource a ton of work to companies that have no quality control whatsoever.

Gotta like that FOV with the slider adjustments. This is something that every racer should have by now. Don't know why these developers never add this especially to the chase cam. Hoping it makes it into the final game and hoping its not just little itty bitty adjustments. It would also be nice to have how the camera swings around the car when turning too.

Now if only they just do this for the car stance. Not just 3 choices for track width and run away. So far no game has this up to the user. Payback but very limited or Super Street but its not an A title game.

True, but the models are still on roughly the same level of detail, featuring a detailed cockpit view, and more often than not the engine bay is also modeled in painstaking detail. Likewise, some cars behave closer to their real-life counterparts than others, but all roughly adhere to realistic standards. Now compare this to mobile games like Asphalt , where car models are a low-poly affair and the same, ultra-arcade handling model applies to all cars, and you should realize where the difference is.

Most mobile games have models that are not much more advanced (if at all) than Gran Turismo 4's, and the "cars" are just skins applied on top of the same car over and over, with only top speed and maximum cornering speed making them any different. Implementing the latest, newest, baddest hypercar only takes a model artist a few days and a dozen reference pictures.

On the other hand, just setting up a photogrammetric scanning session with the manufacturer of said hypercar could take T10 months. Of course they try their best, and have developed a close relationship with manufacturers that allows them to get their work started before cars are unveiled to the public, but that headstart is not always enough, and those relationships don't get them everywhere.

tl; dr - by "standards" we mean "has doors that open, a fully modeled interior, a complete handling package, etc."

I went for it and pre-ordered the XB1X Ultimate Edition from Amazon. I had intended to get the digital version, but for some reason you can only get the 20% Prime discount on the physical disc. Thankfully it's not a huge loss for me, as my over 10 year-old computer won't be seeing an upgrade anytime soon, and I'm not big into drift.

I can kind of see Micro$oft wanting to push the digital content, but how does it cost Amazon more to email me a code than ship me a disc? I can only guess it's some agreement with Micro$oft to again push the digital angle. Regardless I'm just thankful to get the car pass and the expansions - that's what I was after anyway! Bring on Horizon!!!!!!!

Hot off the presses, cheevos have been released. 55 achievements.

I like the Coronation Trickin' acheivement for a 195,300 point skill chain. Took me a couple of minutes to work out why it was that exact number though.

The reason is of course that Queen Liz II's coronation was in 1953, the year that we re-invented chicken in curried mayonnaise.

I doubt it'd be the opening to the game this time around, more like the four seasons taster we saw at E3 is my guess.
