Anybody else Influence farming? I'm at 101,000 and counting. Though I'm not sure how much that is in the context of the game.

I did saw a streamer gain 40 levels when he unlocked the Mixer portion. So I can presume the influence is the real deal.
I have farmed 1,3 mil so far, but I know some people who have more than 1,7 mil. If you started farming influence from day one you could gain up to 2 mil of influence by watching(farming) only. However you will unlock only the prices from Mixer and you will level up your character (wheel spins). You will not unlock anything else. You unlock races, speed/drift zones, jobs by progressing trough the story mode only.

Question! Can we change seasons on the fly? Or will we have to wait until each Thursday of the week for it to change to a new season?

Thank you for the confirmation. I think that is a real shame. No, not the end of the world, but a disappointment if you want to pick up the game and free roam in the season you prefer most rather than being forced to wait. I suppose it's another feature to keep people playing week to week, like locking cars in FM7, which is great and all but feels very restrictive.

Strictly thinking about photomode, where I spend most my time, I also agree that it's a bummer.

Same, much like the time of day problem in FM7, where you cannot select the specific time of day for a track, I wonder why they decided to do that. Want a picture at dusk? Restart the race until you get the right time.

Edit: I wonder what season it will be on Friday when people start playing it. Hmm.

I think it's a great idea. I understand those that want a specific season and all, but each season has so much to offer! Why not explore/enjoy them all? You may not be able to get that summer shot right away, but I bet you could find a nice shot in the snow, or the leaves, or the rainbows. I honestly don't understand why some are so sore about this.

It makes sense to make the seasons consistent when you are playing online, but when you are disconnected it should really be up to the player what season they want in free roam. Not a fan of the snow? Need to wait an entire week for it to change. Love Autumn? Sorry you need to wait 3 whole weeks to play it again.

Blows my mind that they advertised the seasons thing as a major new feature and they forced us to deal with weekly changes.

Sure, but why not leave it up to the player to decide when they want to explore a season? No need to force it upon us.
 
I mean, there are parts of the world where it feels like seasons are changing every week, so... :lol:

Summer on Friday (the changeover is on Thursday afternoon UK time).

This is a discussion board, we are discussing the pros and cons about a game we are paying our money for. I think I am allowed to voice my opinions, positive or negative, about the game. Right?

No, not the end of the world about the seasons thing, as I said in a post earlier. Just a genuine curiosity as to why they decided to be that restrictive. It's not complaining, really.
 
I kinda understand their reasoning for the weekly season changes, and I guess the game will begin to evolve over the course of it's life cycle.

Still a shame we couldn't of had a bit more control over these elements, but that's the current price of admission!

I see what you're saying, and you have a good point. Speaking strictly for the online side, I think it needs to be fixed/scheduled so it's the same for everyone. For offline/private groups, I would have no problem letting the user choose, and it is a little odd that it is forced even in those instances. Still, that really only affects offline free-roam. With blueprints, you can have whatever you like whenever you want. That helps some, though you still have a point. :cheers:
 
Anyone watching that Goodwood stream? What a let-down so far. The first hour was disappointing with mostly recaps of other streams and then a bit of James Bond car showing. The second hour though... omg what an ab-so-lu-te-ly annoying teen giggle show... and I thought AR12 was annoying to watch, lol. Now, let's hope this Inside Xbox info about the route creator comes soon...
 
Can’t say i’m surprised, despite the leaks this game has been going from strength to strength and probably still will be over the coming months. 👍

Seems like 4 is the magic number for the Forza franchise as a whole. :D

Seeing a game I love get high ratings and glowing reviews is nice, but it ultimately doesn't matter to me. Even if it got terrible reviews, if I'm enjoying it, then that's all that matters.

Reviews don't matter to me since the gaming press has become so deeply involved in pre-release campaigns. For example, take all the in depth videos IGN has posted for Playground Games in recent months. I'm sure FH4 is a fairly great title, but it blurs the credibility of whatever score IGN would end up giving. Too many stakes at both "sides".
