There's a rumor going around that it's going to appear on another platform...
Switch 2.
Switch 2.
Just as much as they have had access to the SteamVR API since Horizon 5 launched on PC in 2021.Now then, do Microsoft studios have access to PSVR2 dev kits?
Nice. Also read Flight Simulator could be coming to PS5, so I hope they are working on the VR.Just as much as they have had access to the SteamVR API since Horizon 5 launched on PC in 2021.
This is the discussion thread for an article on GTPlanet:
Forza Horizon 5 Coming to PlayStation 5 in the Spring
Microsoft has announced that Forza Horizon 5 will, as we’ve been suspecting for a while, make the transition to the PlayStation platform this spring, making its debut on PlayStation 5...
DON'T SAY THAT! Don't give them ideas.. they might start doing game-purchase FOMOs as a new thing now.[...] I mean clearly Microsoft isn't going to release it on PS5 (and allegedly Switch 2) in a few months, then shut it down at the end of the year.
If they restore the shift animation to the Mk4 Supra in cockpit view it'll be a day one buy for me.I get the feeling the PS5 version may ironically end up being the definitive way to play on consoles, as Panic Button managed to tie up a few little oversights and details in their Series X/S ports of FH4 (most notably all the paddle shifters being animated instead of static) which tightened the whole thing up.
Cross progression would make me switch sides in all honesty, though that’s far too unlikely to happen.
Wait. That was added in the Series X port of FH4? I thought for sure it was in the base game and FH5 just downgraded that detail to save on animation budget.I get the feeling the PS5 version may ironically end up being the definitive way to play on consoles, as Panic Button managed to tie up a few little oversights and details in their Series X/S ports of FH4 (most notably all the paddle shifters being animated instead of static) which tightened the whole thing up.

What I don't understand is why they never fix these little things. I mean, what about the whole all-digital always-connected thing? Games having updates, even on consoles? When before that, only PC games had 'em and they were just a few little patches? If they restore the shift animation to the Mk4 Supra in cockpit view it'll be a day one buy for me.
God I wish I were kidding.
FH5 turns 4 this year, which I believe is the age FH2, 3, & 4 hit when they were de-listed. It's probably safe to assume Microsoft (& Sony) have worked out something for FH5 to avoid it only being purchasable on a Playstation for less than a year.Old is old no matter if you have played it or not. I’m asking because Forza games usually get retired from the market after a few years. FH5 is reaching that point soon, unless it gets to live for longer.
This is why we have Playlist voting now, if I had to guess. It's no coincidence that they announced this port on the same exact day Midnight Muscle started and introduced that feature to the Festival Playlist. Not only are both the PS5 and Xbox versions getting one last all-new Series update in Horizon Realms that we'll be able to go through together, the PS5 community will basically get to choose their own adventure after people like me who've already done pretty much everything there is to do move on to FH6 to... basically do it all again. The only weak point of the PlayStation port though is the game runs on a live service model of course and at this point most of the events have already happened, so that’s going to be something people jumping in now will be missing out on.
Given the insane sales differences between the PS5 and the Series X, I don't think that was anywhere near as likely.Forza horizon 5 being available on a competitors platform seems quite bizarre, but if they want to reach an even larger audience this is the way to do it. But this seems like that any competition in this open world racing game segment is essentially dead and so is console exclusivity. You wouldn’t see GT7 on Xbox would you…?
If you're a busy man but love collecting cars, nothing is better than FH5. No grinding at all and you can easily have a huge Ferrari and Lamborghini collection.Last time I had a Xbox was about 10 years ago and their hoppers at that time had all different online classes and I was hooked on Renault Clio sport races around Road Atlanta.
Can’t say I’ll be too into anything ‘The Crew’ like but this might fun for a bit?

WOW , is it April now???? I think Polyphony digital start to get fear coming
Excellent news for those that want PD to feel some heat from competition and get their act together. Looking forward to ditching GT at the first available opportunity.
As someone who loves Aviation but has never the budget or the hardware (which always seems beefy) to run it, Having Flight Simulator on PS5 would be awesome.Nice. Also read Flight Simulator could be coming to PS5, so I hope they are working on the VR.
As happy as I am for the PS5 finally getting FH5... I think it's worth mentioning that the game is still flawed and probably not the Horizon game I'd have ported over first--though obviously licensing is going to have a lot to do with that. A base game map designed first and foremost with battle royale in mind rather than being a plausible place, a soundtrack that is heavily censored and can't be modded out unless you're on PC, cliche-to-questionable writing on the Horizon Stories in general... really, the thing that's going to be pulling people back is the car list and EventLab, and that's just in the base game. Casual players will probably move over to Horizon now that Gran Turismo's basically pivoted more towards the competitive side of things like Motorsport has, but I don't think it'll destroy Gran Turismo overnight. If anything, I hope having Forza on PlayStation will encourage Yamauchi to swing back to pick up those casual fans again, though that assumes Turn 10 is able to pull its collective head out of the sand and treat Motorsport as more than just the 'hardcore' alternative to Horizon.I will never understand how people think a more casual game is somehow a rival or putting "Pressure" on GT. Hell, how many times have people going on about this "Competition" nonsense? As far as I can tell, the sales numbers of this series continually tell me that there is nothing for PD to worry about so how a four year old game being ported to PS5 is somehow threatening PD confounds me. Of course some of these folks also want PD to hurry up with a New GT so I frankly have no idea what they want anymore.
Sony's executives disagree with you.For those who said maybe GT7 would or could be on PC,
I am here to say: this is Not going to happen either.
If GT7 is on PC, then why would it not be on XBOX either, as the relationship And portability would be too close.
I don't see it as simple as that. Up till now, Gran Turismo didn't have real competition. But who tells me that FH5 isn't just the siege ram, opening the door to the PlayStation ecosystem for future releases?...
Why would PD fear anything? Fear of what ? How ?
Forza Horizon is an old game.
Forza Motorsports isn't going to prevent anyone from buying GT7, as people with a PS4 or PS5 who are interested into cars, more than likely already has purchased GT7.
Their money is only in Kaz's pocket, he didn't lose anything.
...
How is Horizon a competition for GT? They are completely different. And if FH6 is developed and comes to PlayStation as well, then PD finally has competition.
I would like to state it again: just because me, you, whoever has the capability to buy X games per year doesn't mean that everyone can. So people with low budget that want a racing game will have to decide between GT7, FH5 and other racing games. In that regard, YES, they are competitive products.Only because two games feature cars doesn’t automatically make them competition. Horizon and GT are really on the absolute opposite sides of the spectrum. GT will be fine, Horizon will be fine.
Horizon is competition for Motorfest and will crush it. If Ivory Tower’s plan was to continue the route they are on because they could fill a Horizon shaped hole on PlayStation they are now starting over.
Yesterday’s announcement made me boot up FH5 on XBOX again and I immediately lost 2 hours - it’s such a good time.
