High res map reveal

My biggest takeaway aside from the amazing map and the Supra fans getting spoilt in the best way? :D

We now have the 3 big manufacturers who’ve had absences from prior Horizon games, all in the same game from Day One.

VW wasn’t in FH3, back in FH4.
Mitsubishi and Toyota were in FH3, not in FH4 at launch.

FH5? All in from the start

Assuming that race they showed is any indication, the post-race Empty White Void is gone! The Evo crossed the line and we got a cool in-environment slow-motion shot. Also noticed that the screen goes "cinematic" letterbox when you get close enough to the finish line on the last lap.

Some of the menus got revealed as well (not the main menu but the one while being at a player house, and then one going deeper into upgrades). FH4 pics for comparison.

my thoughts:
1) it looks MUCH cleaner in FH5 than in FH4, I like that a lot!
2) autoshow and auction house combined into 1 buy&sell menu. Then a new festival menu added (we get 6 festival locations now, probably comparable with FH3).
3) customise character removed from here and probably directly accessible from the main menu (thank god!)

my thoughts:
1) again much cleaner look, they really listened to the bad feedback on the FH4 UI.
2) seems like individual car mastery is back. So that means FH4 stile, not global mastery like in FH3. I guess that’s okay

That's a big improvement - reducing visual noise. Thank you, thank you. I don't mind the individual car mastery is back, though I wish it was a more/better fleshed out mechanic. I would really love it if you unlocked special upgrades once reaching a certain level of car mastery. Perhaps engine swaps could be tiered this way. So, using a first Gen RX-7 as an example - an initial phase of mastery unlocks the third gen RX-7 engine swap and then the final level of mastery unlocks the 787B engine...that way it actually feels special.

Now, perhaps it is more likely that it is an option available only on some cars such as the Supra, but the race rear bumper is back from FM2.

...The design has evolved a lot in 15 years.
