They're giving the DeLorean three separate slots and acting/pricing like a five-car pack?
Giving 3 versions of the BTTF Delorean to pad out the Universal pack seems a bit of a waste when they could have settled on just the one.

That's definitely a headscratcher from me. The only thing I could think of is that they actually got to scan every single DeLorean prop car from the movies and couldn't just pick one to bring in, so they chose all of them. Even though Universal also owns the Fast and Furious franchise, so they could reasonably have also scanned cars from the early movies too.

The Wrangler feels the most like a space-padder, there's, like, nothing special about that one.

My only "complaint" even if it is a first-world problem is that the Explorer from that movie is more iconic and way cooler. Maybe because they scanned the Jeep that the Explorer was also scanned?

EDIT
On a different note Daihatsu and Red Bull were found as auto manufacturers in the Forza Motorsport files, so that's kind of cool as well.

All three should be in, but as separate cars and at the price of separate cars is mad.

It'd make more sense to have them as premium custom kits (since everyone will have a favourite, which is obviously the BTTF2 car even if it won't fly) for the existing car, or for a special single Time Machine entry, and either reduce the price or put two more actually different cars in.

But then this pack would have made more sense during Retrowave so...

Great Scott!

Under his new pseudonym Michele Cavalieri please (spelling probably incorrect).
It is actually the correct spelling, and FYI, in the Mexican Spanish dubbing of the show, Michael Knight remained as such, not "Miguel Caballero" as the Spanish dubbing in Spain would likely have had it.

This had the chances of being a really great update, but it’s my own fault for setting high expectations after the last update.

The only good things for me in this update is Kia coming back, finally the GR Yaris showing up and of course the Ioniq 5 N.

But Dark Horse after we just got the GT is bizarre and the Cross Turismo while we are waiting on like four 992 models is insane.

And then the car pack… Instead of plenty of other modern cars we’re still missing, we get another overpriced movie car pack?

If it was part of the last update it would’ve made sense at least but now it’s not only meh, it’s also out of place.

Oh well, it is what it is, I’ll take the good things and hope that the next update delivers some cool old and new C&C worthy cars.

The coffee shop does sound like a cool idea, hopefully it’ll be a permanent addition to the map instead of limited to the series.

I think it's a nostalgia point. The Wrangler was used in Jurassic Park 1's most iconic scene, the T. Rex chase, while the Explorer... basically only exists to get bodied by a T. Rex and was only seen driving around before.

Essentially--what do you expect a general audience that hasn't seen Jurassic Park yet or just wants to have something from the movie in FH5, the Wrangler that could outrun a T. rex in a thrilling chase scene that practically defines the film, or the Ford Explorer that just gets its crap pushed in within the first minute of its plot relevance? :P

That's true, and that era Explorer's existence does also intertwine with the Firestone tire scandal in the late 90s.

The problem you'd get with the 'single Time Machine' bit, or even the 'premium custom kits' idea, is that you'd then have to pick a specific movie to draw from as your base. I dunno how vitriolic BttF fans are about their design preference, but if you chose the BTTF1 car you might get people wondering why the BTTF2 car wasn't picked. If you picked the BTTF2 car, you'd then have to chance the possibility that fans of the BTTF1 car would come out and say that their car is more realistic-looking and would fit better in a modern day setting like FH5. And then, if you, for some godsforsaken reason, decided to use the BTTF3 car, you'd please a niche fanbase while everyone else comes out of the woodwork. This way, by using all three cars, you please everyone--which seems to be the modus operandi of a lot of live service games, actually, cater to as many people as possible so no one is disappointed or left out.

That is an inherent problem with any movie tie in dlc. Their licenses also have many conditions, and are also expensive. I loved the James Bond DLC for FH4.

There will be people who do not care about the cars (or have not watched the movies).
There will be people who have watched the movies, but feel a different car would be a better pick.
There will be people who want the cars but not want to pay extra, as they are essentially variations of existing cars.
There will be people who don't mind the cars, but will consider purchasing it, if they have cool upgrades or perform well in game.
There will be people who will straight up buy it because the cars have a special place in their heart.

One cool fact is that we went from not having DeLorean in forza since FM4, to having the base car as well as all movie variants in the same game.

More importantly, the Jeeps were apparently the only autonomous cars around the island, while the Explorers were driverless, and ran on an electrified rail.

Easy solve: if not the base car (presuming a specific BTTF, EJB, Outatime, or "Time Machine" manufacturer entry) the first one.

The third car is a modification of the second, the second a modification of the first (and the first a modification of the standard car, but we're assuming a separate manufacturer entry). Therefore the first car is the base and the others a custom bodykit (including wheels!) for that.

Nonetheless, the three separate entry thing isn't specifically the issue. The fact they're treated as such for pricing is the issue - and people have noticed...

Also, no fourth iteration of the car for racing the train is suck.

Also I think that if you discount the alternate timeline but include the near-prime timeline, there are two different DeLoreans in 1885 simultaneously, three different DeLoreans in 1985 simultaneously (the fourth arrives after the othe three have left) and four in 1955 simultaneously...

Those airbrakes in KITT's pursuit mode are crazy...

Edit: I may be the only one excited for the Taycan Cross Turismo: https://www.porsche.com/usa/models/taycan/taycan-cross-turismo-models/taycan-turbo-s-cross-turismo/
What an awesome thing it is. I like the styling more than 1st gen, and it has real off road credentials (well, relatively speaking).

What I want is for them to implement "road mode" and "gravel mode" as the toggle setting:

How about the Huracan Sterrato next?

Truth is, like, Point 4 seems like it doesn't apply because the time machines and the Wrangler all seem like they perform the same as their basegame counterparts. Unless they do have special upgrades they haven't told us about (which it sounds like they don't), the only unique car here is KITT, and even then Super Pursuit Mode is being treated as a bodykit rather than a separate driving mode like the ones on the Kia GT and the Ioniq 5 N.

I mean, at least Apex Allstars made sure even the FM2023 portback cars felt like they belonged in Horizon. So far I haven't seen anything indicating that for the Universal Icons pack.

That is a fair point and I am surprised I hadn't considered that. That being said they did also modify the interior on all of the time machines to match how they are in their respective movies, which might not be possible with bodykits, so... there's that I guess? shrug

That's why the use of the new Countach in the Showcase Remix last month bothered me so much! It felt like it was balanced around a different car on Highly Skilled, the difficulty I played it on; maybe whatever happened to delay this car pack to this month forced them to pick that car instead?

...which, if that's the case and the car pack was intended to be released with Horizon Retrowave... then Horizon Retrowave was supposed to be a big advertisement for a cross-promo car pack. Huh.

Looking forward to yours bud 😉
I do have GR decals, but I haven’t played Horizon since Motorsport launched.

If I go back I’ll probably get a mail saying my paints generated 50,000,000cr in download revenue (not a joke, when I took 6 months off Forza Horizon 4 I got over 28,000,000).

Impressive numbers bud!!! Well if you do come back to FH5 I look forward to your Yaris GR livery.

Oh my adorable GR Yaris finaly in Horizon and yeah the Ioniq 5 N it's one of my favourite EV, so I'm happy to get those two cars...

My toughts for the others: again another Mustang, this car it's becoming the Skyline of Forza series, how many variants and generations we have got? And not a sigle Thunderbird or Gran Torino in the Ford Range!
Taycan Crossturismo it's okay and a suitable car for Forza Horizon.
Glad to see the EV6 and the return of Kia. (please tell me they will bring back the Stinger GT Too..)

I don't care about the DLC.
But a dear friend of mine, who loves a lot Back to the future will be really pleased to see all the three Deloreans (and of course KITT)

Now
Playground Games
you have one job for the next season.
SUZUKI CAPPUCCINO.

Funny you say this, because things like Rafa Gorgory (Ralph Wiggum), Bruno Díaz (Bruce Wayne), or Arturito (R2D2) come from mexican dubs, not dubs from Spain. Mexican dubs have a history of changing/translating names, something which rarely happens in dubs from Spain.

So I don't really get this gratuitous dig towards dubs made in Spain.

By the way, isn't the Jurassic Park Jeep the first new Jeep we've gotten since the game released?
I know so. Jeep is a Stellantis brand, after all, alongside Citreon last week, so we wouldn't have gotten any before now.

What interests me is that we've definitely gotten some serious South Korean representation now. The Hyundai Motor Company also owns Kia, as it turns out, so in the last four months or so we've now gotten... Six South Korean cars, if we count the three we got in Lunar New Year and the N Vision, all owned by Hyundai. Honestly way more on board with this than the Chinese push we got in Year One.
