I had a little ball of rage in my Trial to deal with. In all three races (yes, three, because we lost the first race), he started ahead of me and in the other lane. And in all three races, he tried to run me off the track as I accelerated past him at the launch. In the final and deciding race, he managed to make me miss a gate on the second lap and I fell to last place. At which point I just stopped racing. I drove quietly around the track making no effort to catch up. We won, but it was done without any effort on my part.

Okay, may as well, Mid-Series Prediction time. This one's still hellaciously difficult to figure out--we know we probably won't get Secret Santa cars so either they're going to go big for the final Holiday Update with new cars or use this time to drop in a slew of new-to-Horizon and returning upgrade fodder cars. I'm going to lean optimistically and assume that the update will land somewhere in the middle--a list of cars that are long-awaited and will probably just barely miss the boat to Mexico.

The Holiday Grab Bag ('Better Late Than Never' Edition)
Series Rewards: 1962 Peel P50 (80 points), 2023 Aston-Martin Valkyrie (160 points) (The Peel P50 was the Secret Santa reward car for the event's first iteration back in 2021--and it hasn't reappeared since Series 13, Horizon Anniversary. This would make a great reward for what's sure to be a partial remix of Horizon Holidays, since that Holiday Update's Secret Santa car is already available in the Autoshow. I'm also assuming we'll get another crack at the Valkyrie, assuming that car isn't still being handed out to new players.)
Summer: 1993 Porsche 928 GTS (The FOMO 928 appeared late in FH4, it should only stand to reason it would appear late in FH5 at this point.)
Autumn: 2009 Lexus IS F (Last time I had the '95 Cobra R in this slot, but then I remembered--lotta folks wanted the IS F to return from FH4, and the Terminator Mustang would easily have supplanted that thing's return from FH1. I feel like this would be a safe bet from the Japanese side of things, even if Lexus is more an American brand. Alternatively this could be the GS350, returning from FH3.)
Winter: 2022 Lamborghini Huracan Sterrato (This being Christmas week, we're almost certain to get a Secret Santa reward car equivalent around this time. There were four contenders in my head for this--one was the Sterrato, of course, the other was the Koenigsegg Gemera, with dark horse contenders swooping in in the form of the Maserati MC20 and Lamborghini Revuelto. What ultimately pushed the Sterrato over the line for me was the addition of the 911 Dakar; if we're getting one off-road modification of a VAG legend, then why not the one everyone's been asking for, its stablemate? Also, expect the Gordon Murray T.50 to reappear here somewhere. Either way, assume this to be the headline car.)
Spring: 1998 Aston-Martin V8 Vantage V600 (Returning from FH3 at the potential end of the road. This feels like exactly the kind of 'highly requested New-to-Horizon car' that would appear at the end of potentially the second-to-last Series with new cars, and it'd be a neat one. I certainly wouldn't be opposed to it!)

I'd also include a more pessimistic prediction here, but there's just so many cars they could go with with a theme so vague that I'm just going to go more optimistic instead, based on how Horizon Track Day just slammed us with four very welcome cars.

Santa Claus Comes to Horizon! (New-to-Forza mega-drop)

Series Reward: 1962 Peel P50 (80 points), 2023 Aston-Martin Valkyrie (160 points) (Keeping this from the other prediction 'cause why not.)
Summer: 2022 Lamborghini Huracan Sterrato (Headline car. This is the 911 Dakar's stablemate at VAG, after all, if we don't get it here before the end of the road I'll be very surprised.)
Autumn: 2024 Koenigsegg Gemera (Because why not slap a big hypercar into Mexico for the last big push? The Gemera would likely have been scanned by now--it's only in Autumn and not Christmas because I figure it wouldn't establish as much excitement.)
Winter: 2023 Lamborghini Revuelto (By now I suspect the Revuelto will be ready for its close-up in Horizon. As a Christmas reward, this would be perfect, though any one of these could swoop in and become our Christmas present, who knows? Either way this would be a nice bow on a holiday season filled with great cars.)
Spring: 2023 Ferrari Daytona SP3 (This is a longshot, even by my standards--we haven't had any new Ferraris in Forza for a long, long time--but what better way to end things off than a new Prancing Horse? Jingle Bells, and all that.)

May all their bacon be burnt from now until eternity. It's the bloody least they deserve, along with all the other numpties we all encounter week to week.

You say this, but I think we all secretly enjoy the numpties: They spice up the day :D

(yeah, after 2 failed trials due to numpties I tend to just give up and get the points elsewhere that week, but once the points are achieved you can look back on the numpties and laugh)

It's a very painful smile through gritted teeth once I've succeeded, I'll grant you that bud 😂😂.

I'm a playlist completionist sadist, I like to finish everything each week.

Me too, it's just satisfying to see a gold Series completion whenever I leaf through the Playlist history. Even when the seasons get really, really baffling, like this week--it's been a while since I've seen a Playlist that doesn't actually naturally lead the player to the ability to complete every challenge.

I'd actually just finished grilling a few rashers when @Edax 76 wrote that and I tried to make sure most of the fat has become crispy before sticking it in a sandwich with some cheddar, mayo, brown and buffalo sauces. Not a big fan of chewy bacon.
You know what we call "Worcestershire sauce" in Mexico? Salsa Inglesa, which we happily spread on pineapple and ham pizza. Yup.
Certain Yorkshiremen may not be pleased with that title but it's certainly easier to pronounce.

Brainwave hit me while I was out, I actually do have a more realistic prediction in mind. I think we'll still get the Peel P50 back as a Series reward (hell maybe it'll hit the Autoshow), but I just put this together last night. Still a grab bag update but with a few more niche, if not unwelcome cars. Think 'better late than never' but for older, less powerful cars.

Summer: 1990 Jaguar XJ-S (Returning from FH4. We're still very overdue for a Jag at this point, though with their recent rebranding I
don't know if they'll go for having it brought back. Pairs nicely with the Lagonda, even if it went into Cult Cars while the Lagonda got into Retro Sports Cars for... some reason. Alternatively this could be the FOMO 928, but for this prediction I'm pinning things on cars that really had no reason to miss the boat to Mexico, no matter how low on the stock ladder they were.)
Autumn: 2005 Lotus Elise 111S (Returning from FH4. Aside from the 340R, we don't really have anything to represent the 2000s generation of Elise. This would at least be a neat lil' Retro Sports Car, worth going for in my case.)
Winter: 2022 Lamborghini Huracan Sterrato (The New-to-Forza car we get on Christmas week. I really don't see this being any other car, if one of these is indeed in the works. Consider this the headline car in this case.)
Spring: 1973 Mazda RX-3 (Returning from FH4. I have a feeling we'll see some sort of old JDM car this update--so either this, the Cosmo Sport, or the RX-7 GSL-SE would fit. I'm just using the RX-3 'cause it's the one freshest in my mind.)

I have a feeling the Holiday weeks will follow a similar pattern to the last few years. A bunch of returning cars, some in the playlist, some dropped in the Auto show, one new one for the holiday prize and a nice well earned vacation for the Playground staff.

When did this become the Forza Hotbacon 5 thread?

Anyway, we're sure to get a JDM next month, what with (in my opinion) FH6 being set in Japan :sly:

i dont know if someone knows that, but now Forza website is listing all FH5 and FM cars

As comparasion, FH5 has 886 cars as today posts, FH1 had 218 cars (around 4x time less), FH2 that was the First Xbox One had 315ish cars

FM has 623 as the date of this post (i had post the FM car list in the FM discussion thread)
