Easy Dodge Blueprint for tomorrow's (30 Aug 22) Forza Daily challenge.

I've made a new ruleset that has something that I don't think is found very often in EventLab - actual randomness!*
Looks like somebody at Horizon HQ has found the dial that controls everyone's engine torque and it's safe to say they're having fun with it! In this otherwise standard race your engine torque will be randomly turned down to zero throughout, so be prepared! Sharecode: 143 465 543

*OK this isn't actual randomness, as no form of random number generator exists within Rules of Play. But the slowdown effect isn't triggered at set points or for set amounts of time, so hopefully to the player this appears as randomness and that'll do!

Event Lab Event: Castillo Ocho @ Hilltop Descent Street Race

Description: Figure of eight circuit around Hotel Castillo. Take care when leaving the bridge, as the dismount can be a bit bumpy!

Ok, so this is a rework of the event I created and shared in this thread back in January! Only now, I can start it where I wanted, now that you can actually see the checkpoints you're placing in Street Race locations!

This is a short figure of eight circuit - around 45-50 seconds a lap in a stock Ford GT. I think the bridge for my crossover could probably be improved for smoother transitions, but I'm not sure of the best method. I've mostly used Hot Wheels track props as I thought they would be easiest to combine, but perhaps the asphalt platforms would be better? I would be grateful for any feedback if anyone would be willing to give it a try?

It's currently an 5-lap open event for all car types and classes.

Thanks in advance!

Because I'm a big kid at heart. Who here can honestly say they've never dreamt of jumping over a dragon lying on a yacht while driving a big pink Mini. Here's your chance team.

Thanks.

Your 2013 Viper (not the Forza Edition, the regular one) tune is excellent and I used it for the seasonal races. Highly recommend it 👍.
Thank you very much bud, very kind words. Means a lot to get feedback like this. I've only really been tuning properly since FH4 so I still consider myself very much an amateur. Before hand I just use to download tunes.

Your 1994 Hoonigam Escort has lost its brakes, only the hand brake works. But this isn't a problem for a skillful driver such as yourself. Drive it across the map in the time limit without damaging it and prove how good you are.....

If you're struggling with the UK B700 championship then try this John Cooper Works Mini. It will smoke the drivatars in the bigger heavier X-Country Minis.

So I have made a bunch of things, mostly tunes and the occasional livery, but what I really like is designing custom events to go with the tunes.
I have two custom routes and four events if you'd like to try them.

image.png

Festival of Speed (115 665 298): A speed-oriented track that is definitely on the easy side, but watch the braking points (especially at Festival and at the end of the first highway section. Bring a fast S2- or X-class car and make about 70k credits/13k XP in 4 minutes or less.

image.png

Festival of Speed - 2 Laps (477 333 483): The same, but 2 laps. It's long enough to hit the credit cap, which should be 100k at +100% difficulty. Starts earlier in the day, enjoy the sunrise, and finish the race in the morning in time for some huevos rancheros. :D

image.png

100 Miles of Speed (153 981 906): This is an 8-lap version of the same track, but there's a twist. This was my first time messing with EventLab's game condition thingies. As the description says, you have a choice - you can either race the full 8 laps for (almost) 100 miles (really, 99.2), or you can honk to end the event immediately (be careful not to do it accidentally). You might not get a race win but you'll get credits and experience corresponding to the time you spent. This was my test mule for an "endurance" styled event and for a way to end an event early with EventLab. It's functional, not spectacular, but functional. Credit cap still applies so it's not what I'd call a good way to grind money, but it might be fun if you want a whole pile of XP. (Unless there's an XP cap too. I admit I don't know if there's one.)

image.png

Horizon Mexico Le Mans Series (322 315 527): Lastly, and this one took an all-nighter to complete, but it is a more ambitious project: an attempt at designing a long Sarthe-styled circuit with fast sections, chicanes, long sweeping corners, and tight corners. The attempt was not to recreate the Circuit de la Sarthe beat by beat, but to build an experience that would be reminiscent of Le Mans, just in Forza Horizon 5's rendition of Mexico. Be careful around the AI, they brake at strange times.

Heavy usage of concrete barriers, long fenced walls, and signage to guide cars in the right direction, but I felt it was appropriate. If you're not confident in your reaction times, bring an A-class car or slower. Or bring an S2-tuned Nissan R390 GT1 and show them what's what. Should take about 4'30"-4'40" to complete in a competently driven and decently tuned S1-class car. Currently, there's only the 1-lap version, as I am waiting for feedback before I build more events out of this.

Let me know if you had fun on any of these.

I used to really enjoy creating liveries on GTS mainly because of the great system of being able to share logos and designs and use them for your own projects. People can upload logos and brand icons in FH but from what I can find people cant use them in their own designs? So whats the point? I would love to get back into creating some liveries but I dont have the skill or time to painstakingly create every logo and sponsor from scratch.

The logo sharing is in the game so why cant the person who shares say for example a HKS logo I want to use for a livery get a small kickback if I download it and use it. Surely that would be the point. I dont see why people can upload logos and things that people cant then go on to use in their own liveries.

Unless I'm hopefully mistaken... I would love to start leaving my creative juices flowing again:lol:

(Some examples I saved from the GTS days)

Totally agree with you, it was something which stopped in FM5 IIRC. Sharing logo cars was a brilliant idea, and the ability to share logo between players with the technical ability to create the logos and those with the artistic flair is something sorely lacking from later games - instead we get stuck with the dross.

There's nothing to stop players from using logos you've created in their own liveries, or vice versa, it's just that they then cannot be reshared with the wider community.

You can use them, you just can't upload a livery with other players' logos. Which is silly, NFS Heat did just fine letting people modify player-uploaded liveries, but at the same time, livery-related uploads are tied to a reward system in Forza.

Arch of Mulege Sweep Wet

20.7 km Point to Point in B-Class in the wet. A lot of cornering and sliding.
I can't find this race at all bud using your code.

Edit: Got it using the name.

Some races I created mostly for personal use, but they somehow managed to get a few likes so why not share them here as well. They don't have any wall barriers on hard turns so watch out for that.

The first one, share code - 245 151 577
Probably my first custom race, I didn't even name it properly. I like slow, technical tracks, but there are not many in Forza Horizon. Luckily, streets of Mulege were the perfect place for such a race. I added an 8 which should not cause any trouble until lap 3 (out of 3 laps total). I think the track works nice with most cars, but don't expect to go fast anywhere except the main straight.

Twisty Guanajuato, share code - 376 085 797
This one is even twistier and harder than the previous one. Streets of Guanajuato suited my idea for a technical track perfectly. Only 2 laps but they are not too short. I limited the amount of participating cars to 8 to avoid carnage. Bonnet cam is advised to improve visibility. I feel like this track would be perfect for a time-trial event but I don't know if it's possible to set something like this up with laps. So a race it is.

Volcanic view, share code - 934 264 765
Unlike previous events this one is a bit longer. It covers some ground untouched by PG's game designers, providing a nice view on La Gran Caldera during a golden hour. The AI is not good here so you can turn the difficulty to the unbeatable and just enjoy the scenery for most of the race. Some twisty corners are also included, as well as a men-made bridge.

Any feedback is more than welcome.

3 very good tracks bud. I, like you prefer twisty circuits over power circuits also.

The Arch of Mulege Circuit was good, twisty but flowed well. You called it right though I ran into the pack on lap 3 in the figure 8.

Twisty Guanajuato. A good track once you've ran it once. I only say this as I massively over ran the 90 degree right turn after the tunnel as I couldn't see it coming lol. A good corner to leave in but a barrier there would be good. Not your fault this one but after each race (I ran it three times) the game just bugged out on the results screen. I had to reset the Xbox and reload, so I couldn't like the race.

Volcanic View. A good X-County course. I enjoyed it. I'd like to race it in storm conditions.

I raced all tracks in A class cars. Enough speed to make the racing fun but easily controllable on the tracks (well fast enough for my skill level 😂😂). I'd like to race more of your stuff bud if you wish to share. Thank you.

I've just created a new weapon. The Gunther Werks Off-Road Special. This A Class car is a beast. It's fast, handles the bumps lovely and turns well. I'm dead chuffed with this one.

Yeah, the coming out of the tunnel light really ruins that turn unfortunately, I'll try to avoid it next time. Weird it bugged out for you, worked without issues for me each time I played it.

Yeah, A class is probably the most balanced, I myself sometimes struggle a little bit with faster cars, especially S2. As for sharing more stuff, I actually got inspired to create some more tracks in Guanajuato, but make them a bit polished this time. Raced around the streets for three hours looking for interesting layouts. Hopefully I'll find some time to do them, will surely share them here.

It's a shame really that PG is using so little of the available roads for the races, yes we can create custom ones but they aren't available for any of the playlist activities. And it seems like one of the easiest things to do, just imagine an update with 2 new tracks for each type of race, this would have been huge. Or at least add some reverse layouts, won't work for cross-country events but an easy way to double the amount of content with very little resources.

And since I started rumbling, editing the starting point of custom events would be amazing.

Not my creation but PlayerUnknown has created a Mexican GP Circuit inspired by 'Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez'. Four codes for varying time and weather.
