According to the site, the game will maintain the physics from Forza 4, but optimized for off-road as there will be 65 types of terrain ranging from mud and gravel to grass and asphalt.
It’s an open-world racer with dynamic day and night cycles, and takes place in Colorado – as you can see via the screenshots below. Looks a bit like Route 550 to us.
The game will also contain gas stations, paint shops, car dealerships and players can race various vehicles in the game, including a plane.
According to Forza Life, the game is slated for release on October 23, 2012.
Expect more information on the racer Monday during Microsoft’s press event at E3.

If they do it right, it will be the best game ever. As far as cars lists, I hope the whole Forza 4 list makes it. As long as they don't make it NFS style theme, I'll make the jump to XBOX. Let's hope these planets align and it comes out as good as we hope!

Quite a few of us did just that with FM4, as a result I fire GT5 up for the updates drive for 5 and switch it off. As a result Horizon is now just the icing on the cake, seriously can't wait.
On a deepest wish side of things (its unlikely but I can hope) I would love the entire FM4 car roster and also all the DLC as well, including the race cars as I would love the ability to set-up Point-to-Point events, hill climbs and Rally events in Horizon and we need the race car roster for that.

You know what would be absolutely awesome IMO? Seasons. All four of them, fall colors, spring flowers, summer heat working against your already taxed radiator, and my personal favorite; SNOW! I know there would be some problems, like how that shiny new viper they're showing would get around, but it would be great fun in all the cool SUVs that forza offers! Maybe just mild patches of ice and snow at night and in the morning. But off road? Oh Yeaaah! Im so hot for forza right now!

I was basing it off the free roam idea and there seems to be some track events (kinda like nfs pro street ) it seems ..
I know forza physics isnt as good as gt5 but if they keep the physics they have now it wont be an arcade free roam..

So there really isn't going be license plates on the cars? WOOOOOOW. Not that I'm complaining or anything which I'm NOT, but people are gonna take it serious... So yea, I agree with SimonK. What Kaz wanted is different from from what Horizon has.
Edit: Nevermind the traffic cars themselves have license plates but not the main cars? O_o

The important difference: one actually exists.
"What Kaz wanted" has absolutely nothing to do with Forza Horizon. "C-Spec" was borne out of rampant speculation from the fans and one (characteristically) vague comment from Yamauchi. The GT series is not the birth place of every idea relating to automotive games.
And, since we already have an established thread for this, they're now merged.
