Forza - HORIZON

Playground Games just put the remaining staff at Eden out of work. Watched the E3 trailer and had to change pants. Now, if only FM4's cutomization and upgrade options are confirmed as well; dream come true. Live subscription, here I come, at last! Can't wait to see the car list.

Do you even own a 360?

Yea i do i played forza 4 for the last 2 months cause i got bored with gt5 and now im back to gt5 cause the cars dont handle as good to me in forza.. ff cars are a pain to drive and tune 4wd cars too easy to drive and rwd is something else..Didn't really try tuning much rr cars..

You won't, however, be able to tune your cars - though you can modify their appearance - and damage is only cosmetic, too.

But don't get upset too soon. The official site says something entirely different.
The Horizon Festival is also the hub around which Forza Horizon revolves. Go here to buy or sell cars to and from your personal collection; design and paint the cars you own using Forza’s incredibly flexible livery editor; upgrade your cars to take them to the next level of performance; upload your automotive masterpieces and browse your friends’ in-game creations

Can I ask what user interface you are using on both games? Pads in both? Wheels on both? If wheel, which one(s)?

I am of the opposite. I think GT5 is too easy and less realistic to drive and race compared to Forza 4 for numerous reasons (already stated many in the vs threads). That's not saying GT5 does it wrong, it's saying FM4 does it better.

For these reasons, I hope Forza Horizon retains the same physics engine as Forza 4. But seeing as we're getting different surfaces apparently, I hope they are tweaking the code for different surfaces and makes it feel realistic, not arcadey and not tacked on. Forza Horizon could very well be a great open world racing game with sim type of physics, but it could also be a decent game with good sim physics in dry conditions and complete and utter crap in other road surfaces. We'll have to wait and see!!

Well the demo just un-sold me, kinda. The whole festival B.S. is not my style, I was hoping for more TDU2 feel than NFS. Also, why do you get points for destroying things? Is that behavior we want encouraged? And I'm not sure if it's going to be the ENTIRE state of colorado, with correct roads and all; it sounded to me from the interview that it was based on Colorado. Well have to see how it turns out, but I can tell that its not enough for me to buy another console.
I'm all worn out from monitoring E3, tonight I need a vacation, Ibiza or Hawaii? Or both?Hmm...

Never got that either. Seems silly. But as long as I'll be able to turn it off from the display, I won't mind it.

No wonder FH has no license plates on the main cars. Because they're in a festival??? Hahaha! >XD Are you serious? Guess I gotta make my own again. *Toko thinks up a concept design for Horizon...*

They're not in a festival, they're on open roads while the Horizon festival is going on. It gives the races and events something to center around.

Oh, I thought so. That seems understandable. It's like you go to the festival to see what's going or something? Sounds good. :) I still wonder why theres no license plates, it'll look so nice. <:\

I'll just drop it and get over it.

It's way better than any kind of awkward Solar Crown championship, that's sure.

:yuck:

Oh my god are you really still on about license plates?

There's your license plates.

So very true.

I'm okay with everything I saw. Some one mentioned they hoped it would be more TDU than NFS, and in terms of the roads, I agree. I also, ah, nevermind, I'll just wait and see.

It looks really entertaining, sort of a mix between TDU and Project Gotham. And since it's Forza, you know the car list will be good and they will keep building on to it which is always a plus. I just hope they don't forget about giving us normal cars and not just a bunch of super cars.

I'm not sure why that thought still crosses people's minds: FM4 has pretty solidly avoided being super car heavy with its DLC, a quick look at this upcoming pack shows some incredible variety.

Like the classic Mini Cooper. Remember before in PGR4 it had one? Good times. And the festival part, I guess that's where it's based on PGR style. I'm good with that idea, BUT. At least PGR had license plates on *every* car. ;)

It seems like the kind of game that would cater more towards supercars than normal everyday cars.

And I hadn't seen the latest pack, which does look pretty cool.

Interesting that the game takes place in Colorado. Wonder if I'll recognize anything from the screen shots...

True, in the TDU and NFS mold, but hopefully the team realize one of Forza's biggest draws is arguably one of the best car lineups on console. I'm really hoping for every non-race car from FM4 to be in FH, but that's unlikely...

Probably not: one of the interviews says while it's base there, they have... Finessed the roads for the sake of gameplay. Though it's vague, so who knows if popular locations will still be there.

Well in the video they said something about the "red rocks and desert areas" which is all on the side of the state I am from.

Looks like they took everything TDU2 was supposed to be and made it work, nice 👍

You already know the answer to that Slipz, people have a short term memory and must be reminded by those who don't.
