Forza - HORIZON

Having not been a fan of Forza due to the physics, since this game is more of a NFS style where physics don't really matter, I may end up buying it. (and mostly for the fact it's set in Colorado)

How so, which Forza game are you claiming this for? Cause FM4 doesn't feel arcade like, to me this game is going to be a great idea of what a open world sim racer should be (simcade actually).

If this is what i hoped TDU would have been I am sold on day one. I loved the first TDU, but the second one the physics were just so terrible. DO YOU HEAR ME DAN, MAKE TDU WITH FORZA PHYSICS AND CUSTOMIZATION.... DO YOU HEAR ME DAN!!!

This is funny, just had to tell you that.

Never said the physics were arcadey, I just don't like them. :)

If I could express my feelings for love if DAN makes this game a TDU with Forza physics it would be orgasmic. TDU was a terrible racing game wither terrible physics BUT it was the fist of its kind and I put soooo many hours into that game driving around Oahu it was ridiculous. Not even racing, just enjoying cruising around in the cars and etc. On the other hand if this is not TDU with Forza physics I will be utterly disappointed.

I am a little worried about crashing through fences and etc for respect points or whatever the guy said about the game...that sounds a bit silly.

Yes but you made reference to them as NFS which is an arcade game.

I'm comparing it to NFS because they are both open world, pick up and play racing games. Like I said before, if I had seen a raw trailer for the game with no Forza logos, I would have instantly thought it was a new NFS game.

I see what you mean.

I can't see this game starting a series.
Both GT and Forza have become notable for being rather, rather repetitive. If they made a follow up to this in the way that they make follow ups to the regular Forza series everybody would complain that they'd just released the same game but with updated graphics and some new cars. Unless of course...

(BTW could somebody get this image embeded for me because I don't know how to myself)

Forza could always counter this by changing location but this, of course, would also get repetitive if they don't come up with any new, innovative types of gameplay.

Not all of the Forza 4 cars will be in Horizon. Theyre putting in flashy, show off, cars. IIRC

I don't get why though. Disc space isn't really an issue, since they already have 2 discs in FM4 and the car models and data is already there...

The Audi Quattro from the 80s shown in one of the vids isn't flashy, so I think we can expect plenty of variation. Especially if they want this idea to morph into a second title.

Things I see:

1) Definitely a NFS style game/competitor. Anyone who thinks this competes with GT is stupid.

2) Did they rip off the menu graphics / finish line camera movements from the Dirt games? :odd:

Half of the studio is from Codemasters. Hard to rip off your own game.

That's exactly what my idea was.
Alternatively, they could release a sequel that was completely different and had nothing to do with music festivals or free roaming exploration...

... like 'Forza Motorsports: In Space!' 💡

if you get points for causing damage and being wreckless, I'll probably have zero points forever.

Yea it don't make sense, they they said they only want to put cars in the game that people would want to show off at the festival, and then your suppose to smash things with your car that your showing off.

Please remember that this is basically an arcade racer, a lot like Burnout Paradise, except with realistic handling and physics. Trivial issues such as whether it makes sense to have a game where your showing off your car and then smashing stuff with it are, well, trivial.

IT'S JUST SUPPOSED TO BE FUN, BUT WITH REALISTIC PHYSICS!

Oh I know what your are saying, the game looks great otherwise. I just get a better thrill at coming close and missing somthing (close call). I rather be rewarded for that. They have to try and make the game suitable for all sorts.

They might have a simple driving mode for people not used to realistic physics like the regular Forza.

Take a look at the gameplay video from 15:30 to 15:40, the car does seem to handle more like an arcade racer to me, similar to NFS, it looks too easy to brake hard, slide and turn ... anyone having the same impression ?

Did you noticed that the assists-symbols are flashing up in the low-right section of the revmeter? I think that they'r running the game in easy mode.

Oh, I see, so hopefully they have multiple driving mode, and I realized in the video, the car also do react unrealistically when hitting other objects and it has no damage ? Must be easy mode and assist enabled :)

Steering, braking, stability, traction, and racing line are the assists available. I believe every video that has came out of E3 has had all assists enabled.

There is no "mode" in Forza.
