Microsoft does the marketing. Turn 10 just develops.

Hasn't stopped them making ridiculous announcements such as this.

"So, props to Kazunori Yamauchi-san and the PS1 team. That said, I feel that he's passed us the baton. Perhaps he hasn't meant to, but we have taken the genre to new levels and they've stopped evolving the genre. So again, tremendous respect to him, but I'd say the differentiator is they're old school. The emperor's naked, and I don't want to, you know, I don't want to slap him around, but no game competes with us right now.

Why do people get so hung up on marketing? I mean if that offends you I'm guessing you don't ever buy anything ever.

You'll have to forgive me for not doing my research. I bought the game under the apparently mistaken impression that the game had already been released. I wasn't expecting it to be released again with new content exclusive to the second release which serves no purpose other than to punish those who already bought the game. Well, I take that back. It does serve a purpose which is to milk more money out of the Forza community. If Turn 10's shady marketing practices fly with the long time Forza fans, then great. But I'm going back to Polyphony Digital when GT5 comes out.

You are use to the old generation, in this one we have the Goty editions, Oblivion, Grid, Mass Effect, Dragon Age, Bad Company 2, GTA4, Gears of War 2, Borderlands, Fallout 3, Forza 2, now Forza 3, all of these game has been released as package including DLC, so is a common practice now, so get use to this compilation editions.

I agree about the exclusive contents, thats bad but i dont believe they are not going to release it for all the other users because of 3 things:

-People is pissed, communty is hating the exclusivity of those 10 cars.
-VIP was suppose to be exclusive and ended avaible.
-no one will be able to see those 10 new cars online unless the buy FUC, thats why in every other DLC they put a free car so the people download the whole data. Why change this now?

Btw, this is work of Microsoft, not Turn10, the publisher is the one that decided this type of things.

You remind me of someone else on this site. Someone who is currently banned, probably because of how big of a troll he was. He would bash T10, forza and microsoft every second he could and would constantly call forza an arcade racer when it clearly isn't. He always had something terrible to say about forza and never once said anything good about it. And he even created a thread filled with nothing but forza/T10 bashing, then everyone in it made him look like a fool then the thread got locked. The funny thing is, your post history, location and your previous avatar were identical to his.

You're talking about danielwhite, aren't you?

OK, if turn 10's marketing strategy was to lower GT5's sales, then it's backfired now as GT5 has been delayed and it has really done nothing at all.

Well, T10 could delay their Forza 3 Ultimate Edition.

You can't even pre-order it because it currently does not exist, so nothing is finalized.

Has it, or does it actually work in their favor seeing as some people suddenly act like their whole world collapsed yesterday at the announcement.

You can pre-order it at Gamestop, but then again you can pre-order anything at Gamestop...even Duke Nukem: Forever!

How many of the Forza Nay-sayers actually own the game?

I`m lucky enough to own both a Xbox and a PS3, and i have Forza 2 and 3, and will get GT5.

Forza has things that it will beat GT5 with, and same the other way around, why does it have to be that 1 game is better then the other (by the way.. impressive to judge GT5 better while its not even out yet.. )

Its the same with Xbox fanboys vs PS3 fanboys, 99% of the fanboys who hardcore bash the other console, only own the one console, so they have to defend their own console to death.

I dont get it why there HAS to be a winner, why cant we all just say we Love cars.. (huhuh), and we love Race games and leave it at that.

Because that's too simple. GT has an elevated position in the hearts and minds of many, because it was genre-defining, too.

Sadly I don't own a PS3, but my mate will be getting GT5 and since i've completed Forza 3, he said I can play it instead as he doesn't play many racing games :)

GT5 is the only reason I would have bought a PS3, but i'm not in a position to pay £200+ right now, so playing it at my mates is a willing compromise for me.

Nope. Not there. Besides, GameStop just wants your money.

It doesn't even have a release date, just an estimate, which is by the end of October.

It's in my GameStop's reservation book. Maybe it's not in all of them.

Like this? :)

All those causing a fuss and it was fairly obvious that it would come to the rest of us. I'm still buying it though and I'm hyped for even more new content.

Finally confirmed. Can we let the **** storm pass now...we will all be getting the content.

Sadly the game became stale for me, I'm pretty sure many are just waiting for the next game's details like myself. If the content falls on a similar release window as the V.I.P. pack Many will still be upset and by then the non- die hards will just forget investing in FM3.

Just like any game, they all get stale after awhile, especially after hundreds of hours of play time. Taking breaks do help that. I took breaks in GT and Forza then go back to and begin to appreciate them even more each time.

That could just mean that Forza 3 isn't "finished" by releasing this. Therefore it isn't a "final" edition including every DLC that will ever exist for FM3.

The final DLC will be the Top Gear Test Track. Mark my words.

My guess is that they wanted the GOTY edition out to retail before GT5, but didn't have the Test Track finished yet.

So it will appear as DLC under this new "Top Gear Deal".

I'm not sure about the test track being in any future DLC. People were talking about this on the Forzamotorsport forum about 2 years ago, but I would like to see the test track become downloadable soon.
